Thank you, but so far all I have are vines and leaves ... and the prickly bits. We've not been able to produce raspberries yet! I've got to figure out what's wrong.
I love them too ... I just wish they'd produce a crop!

How old are your plants?
Hope you get a crop next summer.
I had one pot that wasn't producing, just getting a big plant. I pruned it back and all of a sudden what was left was starting to bloom. Not sure if that is what was wrong but glad it produced.
Mine are just starting to show a little green leaves on some of them. Looking forward to fresh berries. Many mornings I go out with my cup of tea and enjoy berries and tea right in the front yard.
I do need to keep up on keeping them tied up so they don't block the walkway.

Was great to be able to sleep in FINALLY this morning. Dh is out of town for the weekend, son went to work at 5:30-heard him but went right back to sleep until 9!
Have some things I should do but I have all weekend to do them.
Have to go over at 4 to feed MIL and her dog.(tomorrow too)
Made myself corned beef hash last night then made more for son and his girlfriend when they got back > a little later than I would have liked but it is for my kid and I knew I could sleep in this morning.
Turned out so good. I love corned beef, dh doesn't care for it. I cook it in the pressure cooker for 90min. refrigerate it over night and then slice it thin. I will have more this evening. I had the potatoes already baked so just diced them up, fried them crisp then added 3oz of corned beef. I could have eaten a second helping of it but only made one which is a good thing. I will have a big salad to go with the meat tonight.
Leftover options for today and tomorrow for son and I are salmon, corned beef, roasted chicken(Safeway had them for $5 yesterday so boned them out and ready to go). I will see if son wants brown rice or mashed potatoes with the salmon, along with the salad. DH doesn't like brown rice but son and I do. DH has to have Japanese sticky rice which I don't care for unless I cover it with furikake.
Tomorrow will go to church unless it is raining too much.
Have a mystery shop to do for lunch-nice bonus added to it which is always nice. Paid to get lunch and this is an easier one, drive thru.
Then take care of MIL.

Rebecca I still put honey in my tea and on my oatmeal. I use stevia with my yogurt, but tea has to taste like honey for me. It's my guilty pleasure. That and my daily chocolate! As long as I count the calories, I figure a little bit is worth it.

Another misty morning, but some sunny periods later.
It’s Mothering Sunday in UK tomorrow so will be having a family day.
Machka: Raspberries fruit on the new growth, so you need to cut the canes back after fruiting, and keep only the strongest canes.
Rebecca: Glad you got some answers and advice from your therapist.
Rori: Commiserations on getting glittered again.
Karen: We just don’t know what is ahead, so make the best if whatever comes. I hope a med change does the trick for your wife.
Intentions for March:🔹Maintain weight < 140 (I have managed to stay at the lower end off the 140s)
🔹Continue with Solid Habit development
Intentions for today:
📍Solid habits✔️
📍general chores✔️
📍Local shops for fresh produce ✔️
📍work on crochet —>
📍work on A/cs and prep for groups✔️
It’s occurred to me that I’m very much a creature of habit in so many ways. It does simplify staying on maintenance considerably.
Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for all those those who need them.
🙋♀️ Miele failte to the newbies.

March Action for Happiness:1. Set an intention to live with awareness and kindness. I intend to live with awareness and kindness18. If you find yourself rushing, make an effort to slow down. Took things slow and easy today. Planning to do the same tomorrow as it’s Mother’s Day in UK.
2. Notice three things you find beautiful in the outside world.Trees silhouetted against the sky; the appearance of snowdrops in spring; the sound of waves breaking on the shore.
3. Start today by appreciating your body and that you are alive. I meditate on this each morning when I wake up, and am grateful for each new opportunity to have a good day.
4. Notice how you speak to yourself and choose to use kind words. Positive affirmations are very powerful. Be kind to yourself, always.
5. Bring to mind people you care about and send love to them. We chatted with our girls about other family members, and raised a glass to them.
6. Have a ‘no plans’ day and notice how that feels. I will do this tomorrow (7th)
7. Take three calm breaths at regular intervals during your day.Resisting the temptation to plan my day. Serendipity reigns today.
8. Eat mindfully. Appreciate the taste, texture and email of your food. ✔️
9. Take a full breath in and out before you reply to others. I’m a great advocate of deep breathing, and find this works well.
10. Get outside and notice how the weather feels on your face.I wasn’t looking forward to going outside this morning as we had snow overnight and it seemed very cold. However, the sun shone in a clear blue sky, and the wind had dropped right down again, and I spent time with my eyes closed feeling the heat on my face before I went into the centre for Latin Study.
11. Stay fully present while drinking your cup of tea or coffee. Always! Gives me calm thinking time.
12. Listen deeply to someone and really hear what they are saying. When I tried to do this with DH this morning, he got distracted by a discussion on What the Papers Say on TV. 😝 However, we often have in-depth discussions, usually over lunc and dinner.
13. Pause to watch the sky or clouds for a few minutes today. The sun was valiantly trying to break through rain clouds just after sunrise, but the forecast is for heavy showers, but I’m watching the blue patches in hope that it clears up.
14. Find ways to enjoy any chores or tasks that you do.Doing the task isn’t the problem 😝 It’s getting started that’s difficult. I sometimes put on my favourite music, or listen to a podcast.
15. Stop. Breathe. Notice. Repeat regularly. Having coffee after putting away the week’s groceries. There is pink blossom on my prunus purpurea, magnolia buds are beginning to colour up, tulips and daffodils in the containers outside the window are beginning to bloom. There are lots of little birds flitting about in the trees. Spring is doing its best to banish the winter cold. This is a regular joy in my life.
16. Get really absorbed with an interesting or creative activity. I am preparing some paintings for a display of my Monday Painters work
17. Look around and spot three thing you find unusual or pleasant.Today it is more like autumn tha spring. There is a thick sea mist. My usual view of countryside is reduced to about 500 yards. Everything looks damp and grey.19. Appreciate nature around you wherever you are.
20. Focus on what makes you and others happy today.
21. Listen to a piece of music without doing anything else.
22. Notice something that is going well, even if today feels difficult.
23. Tune into your feelings, without judging or trying to change them.
24. Appreciate your hands and all the things they enable you to do.
25 Focus your attention on the good things you take for granted.
26. Choose too spend less times looking at screens today.
27. Cultivate a feeling of loving-kindness towards others today.
28. Notice when you are tired and take a break as soon as possible.
29. Choose a different route today and see
what you notice.
30. Mentally scan your body and notice what you are feeling.
31. Discover the joy in the simple things of life.3 -
Good evening ladies!
I just did my dumbbells Yay! And I rode the bike for twenty minutes today Yay!
I ate 1104 calories today, for a deficit of 386. I was hungry. Likely I was just bored because I know this diet is enough food for me.

Did Les Mills Strength DVD today. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Denise Austin Yoga DVD. After exercise bought gas then returned one thing to Aldi. Walked to Wynn Dixie to take the recyclable plastic bags and stopped at Dollar general to get PopTarts for Vince for breakfast. He said that he needs them, I think he has enough Cheerios but whatever
They had a pool party at the condo. Basically, it was more of a social, no body was in the pool. It was just held at the pool area. But it was nice to go. Played cards tonight and we just called it ¾ of the way thru, we were so far ahead. Plus….it was getting late (for some people...lol)
Cleaned the bathtub (I’ll take a shower before we go), cleaned the toilets and sinks. Trying not to have to do all the cleaning tomorrow
Everyone celebrating Mother’s Day tomorrow...have a great time
Karen and m – BIG HUG
Karen – I do hope your wife’s children come to visit
Carol – good luck getting the tooth taken care of. Be sure to take care of yourself, too
Carla – I have a friend who does substitute teaching and she always makes pizzelles for her students. She's known as “the pizzelle lady”. She loves the name
Mary – glad you are able to use your kettlebell. I know you missed it
I am usually not a procrastinator, but when I am, that’s a definite sign that I really don’t want to do something

Another question… Anyone know of a website or App where you can put in all your meds and supplements to look for common side effects and/or problems with the combination? I used to have an insurance company that did that for you but can’t seem to find where to do that anymore.
RVRita
This is one I use quite frequently. I think I've got its app on my phone too.
https://www.drugs.com/
https://www.drugs.com/drug_interactions.html
This is another one I double-check with.
https://www.rxlist.com/
https://www.rxlist.com/drug-interaction-checker.htm
I see that some others have interaction checkers
I've been impressed with Medscape's medical information:
https://reference.medscape.com/drug-interactionchecker
I see that WebMD has an interaction checker too.
https://www.webmd.com/interaction-checker/default.htm
You can also just Google 'drug interactions' or Google two medications and you'll get those two sites above and several others.

I think they've just been through their 3rd summer, although it might be 2nd summer for some of them. We almost lost the first couple through inadequate watering, then my husband pruned them at the wrong time because he is not familiar with raspberries. This summer they've finally reached a height I am familiar with.

Karen - my BFF’s mother has been tested for Alzheimer’s 3 times now, until someone started looking closely at her meds. One of them for her bladder issues was causing the memory issues. They suggested she take it at night instead of morning because it’s not a lasting effect. There is a noticeable improvement.
I sent your meme about the child going through a phase to my daughter. She doesn’t understand what my issue is either. I guess when I think about it I don’t know why I dislike long hair on boys and men myself. Must be one of those things that carried over from childhood. I have a lot of those, “it wouldn’t look right”, “what would people think”, “ladies shouldn’t do that” in my head. Both grandmothers, and a Dad that all worried about what people would think.
I have tried to work on that over the years and I’ve come a long way, but still have a fair bit to go.
Long hair on men I have never really be a fan of. When all my friends were into the hair bands of the 80’s I was into Kenny Rogers. 😂
I hope I retire and stay as busy as you. It keeps you young I think.
Heather - your girls are beautiful, happy zookeepers. They are braver than I.
Rebecca - It’s great that you were comfortable with your therapist. I hope you find some peace. My heart hurts for you.
Machka - I agree with what you wrote to Debbie. DH’s mom is talking about doing stuff only because his father did it. She needs to learn what she wants. Like Lanette though, she is cooking things she likes and he didn’t even want in the house.
Lanette - for the last 3 years we have hatched chicks in the nursing home. We have a little coop outback for them and they are kept there for a few weeks. When we are ready the lady (my former supervisor) takes the grown chickens back to her house and continues to raise them. She also provides the eggs each year. Our residents are very happy seeing them.
Carla - what age do you teach?
Barbie - great analogy on how life goes.
Rita - I feel that moving pain all the time. It is always connected to my posture. I end up having parts of my back, hip, neck and shoulders on a rotation I think. I’m actually starting massage therapy on Monday.
Will your pharmacist not do that for you? My parents had to have that done but they had prescriptions filled wherever so it made it more difficult than it should have been.
I did a little crafting today, I made the shirt for Michaela and a bag for Jonah to carry his sketchbook and such in.

Michele thanks! You can really identify with me especially since you are so dedicated to exercising yourself. I exercised so that I could enjoy the foods I love. So, when I couldn’t the food calories out ran my activity! I’m just fortunate that it wasn’t worse.

If you've never spent any time on your own, apart from your significant other, it can take time to figure out who you are.
When my first husband and I separated, it took about 3 years before I settled into "me" ... and we had only been married for 12 years.
One of the defining moments was when a British friend invited me to England for a visit. I had always wanted to go to England, since I was very young and realised that there was a place called England, but getting my ex-husband to travel was always a challenge. He'd say yes and exhibit enthusiasm, and then 1000 things would suddenly go wrong, often expensive things like a car mysteriously dying, and we couldn't go anywhere or afford anything nice for a while. It happened over and over. I'm still hoping to see Niagara Falls one day because any plans we had to go there fell apart.
Anyway, my first reaction to the invitation was, "no, I couldn't possibly do that because fulfilling dreams just doesn't happen to someone like me" and then I thought about it ... I had the money, I had the holiday time, I could make the arrangements ... why not!! And off I went! I was no longer held back.

Busy here getting the finances in order and putting the house back together. During the week days it feels like my husband is at work but around 6pm..dinner time I miss him and our conversations and talks together. I have regrets over the times I was curt with him while caregiving. That's something that's really true...once the person is gone, they are gone. So it is really important to work on the relationship at all times. I know overall I gave really good care.
I try to do something every day to honor my husband. He loved music so I have been listening to a Great Courses course about musical composers each day. Last night I listened to a lecture on physics because he had a degree in physics.
I cook dinner and eat at 6pm every night to have some ritual to my day. And my husband and I did this for years!
I have gained weight and sit in my red chair too much. I need to start back at the gym which I hope to do this week!
Best,
Rosemarie from GA
