Any ideas on what to do now? help!
Hi all ... I need some pointers. I am sick at the moment (I have a cold and blocked nose ... the works  ) and hard to get any exercise in and I was wondering what i would do. Do I got down to the lesser activity level or stay eating what i am which is probably way too much for not doing any exercise. This may only be…

Hey guys! So ... I'm in week five of my reset. I had a mini meltdown when my clothes started getting tighter ... but thanks to encouragement from you guys, I am cleaning up my diet, keeping my activity at the moderate level and working on lowering all that sodium! I just need some critiquing on my workout program! I'm…

Arghhhhh having a fat day
I had my cheat meal last night and I am paying for it.....ate 4 bigass slices of pizza and downed a bottle of wine. Yep I hit the scale and my stomach hates me. I stayed under my TDEE by 100 calories though :) I did workout before hand as well, plus I am going on a Crazy hike tomorrow....just feel gross at the moment.

Burn the Fat, Feed the muscle
Wondering if anyone has this book? There is a pinned article in this group by the same author http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/561688-interesting-post If anyone has bought the downloadable book, done the program, what did you think of it?

No jumping on the scale for a month ... who's with me?
Ok I read it over and over again and I am so very very guilty of it myself and I am personally sick of the grip my little flat platform has on me. :grumble: I currently jump on my scales sporadically throughout my week, as well as on my 'official' weigh in day and i am just bouncing around the same kilo. I read Mike's 'Why…

Anyone use a BMF and a HRM?
If so, do you ever check your numbers to see if they are similar for your workouts? I just did and they don't seem to match...shouldn't they be close?

Work out less?
Okay so I have a small issue. My BMR is around 1380 and TDEE is around 1900. If I do -15%, I get to eat about 1600 calories. I've set my goal to 1550cals. My activity level is lightly active since I get in about 1-3hrs/week of exercise. Now, I hate exercising if I have to eat back most of what I burned off at the gym. For…

Losing inches-not checking weight!
I decided to measure this morning, inspired by everyone else posting inches lost. I am down .5 inch in each arm and .75 inches in my waist!! Nothing in hips or thighs (of course, where I want it gone most!) but I'll take it! Yesterday was one week in to doing EM2LW. Yippee! I also did great on macros yesterday, hoping that…

I think its happening... :)
Im now exactly 5 weeks into eating more (properly this time), week 6 starts today. And it seems I've broken my 3 MONTH plateau!! *Happy dance*!! Last week I had a 400g loss (almost 1lbs). Thought, "okay, niiice". Then a few days later I checked again and there was a 1kg (2.2lbs) GAIN...ugh. But I decided to laugh it off as…

BMI
So, my BMI is currently about 22/23. My goal BMI is about 17.5 (please don't tell me it's impossible- i've done it before- or unhealthy-i know.) Would this "eating more to weigh less" still help me? I'm sorry but it seems to defy all logic, but everyone seems to be doing so well, so I am curious.

New and need a few points of advice...
I feel awkward posting this, but..... :embarassed: :blushing: Ok...so...we've been eating clean for the last two months and absolutely LOVE it. I was concerned about whether I was getting proper nutrition, so I started logging food on MFP about a month in. Now that I've been reading, reading, and reading more in the…

Employer's Wellness Recommendations
I found this information very interesting. Our company's wellness website formulated this for me: ______________ •Manage Your Weight. Based on the standard formula for estimating one's calorie requirements, your recommended target is approximately *1610* calories per day. Following the recommended number of servings from…

Cardio-aholic?
So, I would never have described myself as addicted to cardio.....until now! Geez, what is wrong with me!!?? Since finding this EMTWL group a week ago and reading all the stickies and watching the youtube videos, etc...I have decided to cut out a little bit of my cardio and add more heavy lifting into my mix. I workout 6…

Energy. I haz it.
Okay, so I've always been fairly active but somewhat overweight. I lost 20+ lbs. on a VLCD over four months (BTW, is that considered a long enough period to damage your metabolism?), then plateaued and had no energy and looked a little emaciated, blah blah....I've been doing EM2WL for about 5-6 weeks - eating between…

should I drop my activity level setting and recalculate?
I'm using my Fitbit by itself since I don't possess a working computer. Anyway, my burn yesterday according to my Fitbit was 1787. If I keep getting similar numbers throughout the week and then average them together, should I drop my activity level setting and recalculate my TDEE? No way I should be eating 2000 calories if…

Strength training
I started strength training a few weeks ago - the gym I go to doesn't have an free weights so I have been using the machines - I have over the last few weeks been upping the weights as finding it easier so I'm guessing what I am doing is doing good but don't feel like I have a plan Iykwim - at the moment I am doing 3 sets…

New so be nice...
I am 5'6".5, 134 lbs, hips 37, waist 30, and per the bod pod I am 33.5% body fat. The bod pod says my BMR is 1134. I lift hard 3 times a week and loose around 200 cals during each cardio session 3 times a week as well. My body fat is REALLY high for my size and my BMR is really low so how do I get out of this skinny fat…

Confused...
I was able to figure out what my bmr (1475) and my adjusted TDEE is (1696). I do cardio almost everyday because I love how I feel. Today I am going to start weight lifting again. I useto when I had a trainer then I got lazy and gained. Do I eat back my calories that I burn? I read somewhere that when I lift I always have…

Calories Cycling??
Does this work with the "eat to lose" philiosophy. I averaged out my calories for the last two weeks. I ate: 1646 calories Exercise: 2 days a week of hard core circuit training 60 minutes. Cardio: Stairstepper once a week Walking: 30 minutes 5 days a week. So, my exercise calories average 350 per day Leaves me a net of…

No reset - will it work?
I'm seeing a lot of people say they tried the TDEE - 15% but found that after 3 weeks or more it wasn't working so they did a reset. Someone also made a post to not make that mistake and do the full 8 week reset. So I guess what I'm asking is starting at TDEE -15% not going to work? I'm about 1 week in at TDEE -15% and…

The beginning...
Ok, just joined EMWL group and upped my calorie goal by 600 calories a day. Scary? yes, but I totally get the logic behind it and I am willing to go for it. Since I have been eating pretty clean, I feel pretty confident about upping my calories... wish me luck. LOL

Ok here goes
I have found the information on here very useful. I have gained and lost the same 3lbs over and over and its very discouraging. Also doing insanity programme. I also find that 1500+ exercise calories (300-350) is making me very hungry. i had my settings to lightly active and logged my exercise cals. However i changed that…

Do I need to do the reset?
Hi everyone! In an attempt to break my 7 month plateau, I upped my calories from 1320 to 1570 (my maintenance cals according to MFP) for 6 weeks. I then ate back my exercise calories and averaged around 1650 cals/day (just food) or 1540/day (after exercise) for these 6 weeks I just read about TDEE and did the Scooby…

sorry.. I'm new
Sorry.. Im new to this group so I hope someone can help me, I tried going back through some older posts but couldnt find all the answers I wanted so I thought it best to just start my own discussion. I'm 27, 5'2" and 136lbs. I calculated my BMR-1408, my TDEE- 2430, and my goal (with the cut %)- 1944. My questions are: 1.…

Metabolism Reset-How Do You Know??
How do you know if a metabolism reset is the right move? I started logging on MFP about 40 days ago. I realized then that I was eating pretty low calories without realizing it during the work-week. During the weekends, there is no telling what I was consuming. During a typical work day I probably consumed under 1200…
