Is this right?
I am new to this, just upped my calories a week ago, to 1700 calories per day which is my TDEE (2000) -15%. My BMR is 1385. I have a BodyMedia fit, and it says that today (a very busy day and I also worked out a lot), I burned 2400 calories. So, I ate 2100 calories... going off the assumption that if I burn more than 315,…

How do you eat this much? And am i doing this right?
so i am 34, 5'4, hovering around 137-140 pounds. From fitnessfrog (right?) my TDEE is 1900, cut rate is 1615. My BMR is 1385. Ideally, i'd really like to be about 120, as that was a much more comfortable place for me, tho i'm still sorting out how realistic that is, i guess. But right now i'm just trying to sort out what…

Ok - I gained
For the first time since increasing my cals over a month ago. The new part is I dropped doing 2x week Body Pump classes and am doing the NROL4W workouts 3x week instead. I am hoping that is what it is - even though I'm not sore at all! Yay! But it wasn't much of a gain - so I immediately was ticked - but went and put on…

HIIT???
So I am completely not familiar with HIIT. I really want to do it the day after I lift. I am doing NROL4W 2 days/week, Stage 1, week 3. Can I do the stationary bike's "interval training" program? It seems so confusing to me if I have to figure it myself. I also can't do treadmill for more than fast walking because of…

This is getting ridiculous - new workout routine!
So my new workout routine seems to be Power Walk - 40 minutes - ~360 calories Weight Lifting - 20 minutes - ~180 calories and then I seem to add this in every time: Checking self out in mirror - 10 minutes - ? Calories This is getting redonkulous lol

Not sure what to do and feeling discouraged...
I am just getting so frustrated with my weight!!! I know I have gained some weight since I upped my calories and it is also TOM so right now I feel bloated. I am too scard to step on the scale. It has been about 3 weeks since I last weighed myself. I joined this group I think around mid to late March after seeing a 33 lb…

Cant figure all the ratio's out
Hello all. I'm just starting week 2 today of EMTWL. I was eating 1,200 calories and starting last week upped my calories to 1881 a day. On workout days I often have to eat back a small portion of my calories so on those days I'm eating approx. 2000 calories. Anyhow, I'm trying to figure it all out still. I either do great…

Small Ok HUGE panic! :-@
Ok I'm having a panic! I know I'm going at this wrong ... On nonwork out days I'm eating to my cut 1850 which is ok On workout days I'm eating many of my exercise kcal so often my net kcal = 1850 /my cut too This is wrong isn't it? I should not eat my exercise kcal unless my net dips below my BMR which is 1350 right? But I…

Insanity?
I see most of you are doing weight training. Is there anyone else here who's doing Insanity or similar? Or am I the only one?

Okay, this is my update/rant...
Okay, just to warn everyone about to read this post...it will probably be a little lengthy, since I don't want to leave anything out that might be pertinent to my situation and might help anyone that may have insight... So, here is my backround: Started MFP in January--I have been a religious food/exercise logger since day…

Do you still eat cut val on rest days?
Am I supposed to keep my calories consistent, even on rest days or just stick to BMR on those days? Im 175 and am in the gym 4-6 days a week, 1hr each time. Some days are 20min warm up cardio and lift the other 40 and some days are all strength (either just machines or a class). I am 5'6" and my goal weight is 155. Right…

For those feeling discouraged about this process....
It seems there have been a lot of posts recently about people feeling discouraged about weight gain, etc.... I've been doing EM2WL now for 11 weeks. Most of you already know my story so I won't go into details unless someone asks. BUT here's what I really wanted to say. A week and a half ago, I experienced 3 days of…

Need friends who eat and don't feel guilty about it
Hey all! I've joined this group a week ago, and I'm really glad I did! MFP had me at 1300 calories a day, and that just wasn't enough for me! I've since discovered that my BMR is at 1516 calories. No wonder I was feeling tired and cranky all the time... Like many of you, I've lost some weight in the beginning with a big…

Help! What can I eat?
Hi, I live in Scotland, I'm 26 years old, relatively new to MFP and have 40lbs to lose! MFP has given me 1400 net cals a day and I'm managing to eat about 1200. The problem is I'm really into exercise at the moment and burning about 600cals a day; leaving me 800cals short of what I should be eating. I eat breakfast…

Struggle Party of ????????
Hi Everyone I am one of those people who have eaten at or below 1200 calories for a very long time. It is a lifestyle, although not a good one, that I have adapted and learned to live happily at. I am not hungry or deprived. When I wanted a treat, I would allow myself one. A year ago I got within about 10 lbs of my goal…

For the ladies...about TOM
My cycle hasn't even started yet and my cramps are already starting. I have intense cramps because of extenuating health issues and I am not counting on them to be any better. My real issue is extreme fatigue that I experience, and even more CRAZY hunger. I'm already feeling famished, so how do I deal with that? In the…

Am I supposed to be this hungry? :)
Hi! I just wanted to post something. Before when I was eating 1200-1400 calories a day, I was never hungry, but have been at a stand still on weight for weeks. I actually posted asking for help on this subject last week ( I think). I do TurboFire and Insanity workouts al long with weight training and running. So I am very…

Opinions....please :)
Hi Everyone! So I have been reading & reading & reading some more...and would like some opinions on my situation. Here's my story - I was always fairly lucky with maintaining my weight while not eating incredibly healthy or being active but over the years my weight has crept up and found myself about 15-20 pounds over my…

Just joined group, need help setting calories
Hi everyone, I have been on mfp for 11 months, and for a long time was at about 1900 calories, then plateaued for four LONG months, ugh! I got a bodymedia fit monitor and found out that my usual daily burn (TDEE) was around 1900-2000, so I then dropped my calories in February to an average of 1300, I did two lower calorie…

I just realized now....
.....how badly I used to treat my body over the years. This message board truly was an eye opener for me. Before I joined you here I typically would have for breakfast a cup of coffee and aehm.....nothing Then for lunch maybe a few carrot sticks and an apple, some yoghurt.... And then a light dinner when my Dh came back…

Taking a turn to ask for help...
Hi all! I've been doing MFP for 40 days now, and have been using the EMTWL ideas since almost the beginning of that time. I'm starting to feel a bit confused, and am questioning whether I've done something wrong here... I suppose I'm wondering this since I am not seeing changes on the scale (yes, I know, the nasty scale :)…

I hate to post this, but ...
I hate to do this to you all, but this is another "Why am I not losing weight?" post. I have been sticking with EM2WL for nearly three months, now. I'm 5'6, female, 23 years old, 163 pounds. My BFP (according to an average of various calculators) is 27.8%. I started at 169 three months ago, and those 6 pounds came off…

New Rules of Weight lifting for Women
Ok....anyone starting this book soon? I just purchased it from Ebay a couple minutes ago and would love to share in the process once I get it. I normally lift with my husband, but now that we've had schedule changes I'll be lifting alone. So I got the book! I'm excited to try it!

This Process Sucks.
Hi all! I'm Brittany. 26 years old. My stats: Height: 5'9" Weight: 209 My BMR is 1760 and my TDEE is 3036, which puts my daily calorie requirement at 2429. I have lost about 19 lbs (eating 1950 cals/day), but it has taken about 6 or 7 months. I'm wondering if I really need to eat that 2429. My trainer says no; her take on…

Hypothryoidism and EM2WL
Hi everyone! I have lost significant weight NOT eating the 1200 or 1300 calories that people talk so much about. I don't lose weight at that low level. I'm very active, but I have reached a loooong plateau. I just sorted out my TDEE and my cut, so I will be monitoring that to see if I can break the plateau. I have been…

My macros suck.
Hey everyone!! I'm having a hard time hitting my protein goal for each day, and find myself going over on my carbs. I'm not really eating any bread or any stereotypically "carby" foods. I think that if I hit my protein goal each day, maybe I wouldn't crave the things that do have the carbs that I tend to eat, like soy…

Got my #'s but still have a question :)
So I went to that scooby website and calculated my numbers. I'm female, 39, 154lb's 5'4" and it calculated my numbers to be BMR 1436, TDEE 2226 and daily cal's to lose .9 a week (with a 20% reduction) is 1781. I changed my protein to 30, carbs to 40, fat to 30, fiber to 30% and sodium to 2500. I'm just wondering on my…
