  • I'm a longtime runner and have only lost one nail. It didn't turn black and fall off, it just kind of flaked off (just the top full layer). It wasn't painful though!
  • Follow the advice above- and buy kinesio tape to help speed up the healing process. You can buy it at any drug store and there are multiple methods on youtube to apply it.
  • I can't help with the ITBS, but as someone who was sidelined and on crutches last year at this time with a stress fracture I found that it was my total weekly mileage- not the distance on the long runs that bothered me. A lot of the half marathon trainings have you running 4-5 times a week (a few 3 or 4 mile runs, a tempo…
  • I add pushups and pullups (25/10) in between each of the three exercises for the day.
  • ... and I am seriously, SERIOUSLY sore after the first workout. Not that day or the next, but TWO days later :)

  • 7 weeks in- completed Incinerator this morning. I'm also doing T25 at the same time... although the strength routines are laughable. The girls in the video all use 5lbs and the biggest guys are only lifting 15. 10 reps for curls with 5-15 pounds. Really??? I'm pretty sure they are either spraying the actors down to look…
  • Personally I liked asylum better than the original insanity. It seemed more athlete-focused than insanity. And I agree with the previous 2 posts- it was HARD!!! (in the best way, of course!)
  • But is it measuring "real" snow... or that inch of fluffy stuff Texas got last week :)
  • I'm one of the haters. I finished it, but wasn't impressed. It was very gimicky for me. Half of the hour was spent using a foam roller and stretching. I love P90x3 that there is no wasted time. It's right to the point and it's a good workout!
  • Heck yeah. Double session at the gym to make up for the previous night's stupidity!

  • I'm still in the alpha phase of T25 so there hasn't been any weight added yet- it's all been cardio. Definitely hard to run on the same days as lower focus. Because both running and T25 are heavy cardio you may be better pairing your running with something strength-based like P90X
  • The t-shirt would add a little drag- but not the real push you're looking for to take your workouts up a notch. Try swimming a pre-planned program with varying drills, speeds, and distances. I like the Speedo pace club workouts (even though they aren't very good at addition sometimes and I have to figure out the total…
  • If you want it accurate- you really do need a heart rate monitor. I range anywhere from 89 calories burned in Yoga to 220 in The Warrior. If you want to estimate- use the closest category that MFP has already. (Yoga, Cardio, Lifting weights...)
  • First time doing the Isometrics routine yesterday. It seemed really boring at the time, but damn I'm sore today!
  • Yoga today. Tony must finally be getting to me because I actually enjoy it????
  • The pirate bay dot se would be a highly illegal and possibly immoral method of obtaining this program.
  • Buy the pull-up bar that attaches to your door frame. It can be stowed in your closet when you're not using it. I can't comment on the gamma program (I'm in my second week of alpha still) but I LOVE P90X3 so far. I would definitely recommend it!
  • CVX today- love it!! I love getting the high calorie burn from the cardio and the weights at the same time. The Warrior tomorrow and then a much-needed rest with Dynamix on Sunday. Have a great weekend everyone!
  • You could also download it for free on a bit torrent site... but being a questionable legal activity I'm sure it would be frowned upon. Currently I'm using P90X3 to supplement the weight portion of the program but I'd love to try the gamma phase if it's got more lifting.

  • Second week- The Challenge today. It did not get any easier from last week! My arms are still shaking 4 hours later!
  • I love it too! I'm a week and a half in- love how short but intense the workouts are. And Yoga isn't bad. Still not my favorite... but it's at least doable now!
  • Week 1 down. The only workout I'm not a huge fan of is Yoga, but I imagine by the time Wednesday rolls around I'll be glad for the break! Dynamix on Sunday was a nice "rest day."
  • I started yesterday. Doing P90X3 and Focus T25 at the same time (now that both programs are only 30 minutes I might as well do both!) Love it so far. I always liked P90X but thought they could be much more streamlined- and P90X3 is exactly that! Less warm-up, less Tony talking, same amount of work!
  • I started today! Feel free to add me!
  • I just started today. Obviously I haven't seen much of the program yet but so far I love it! I always liked P90X but would do the workout without the video playing because I could do most of them in 35 minutes without all of Tony's talking! These 30-minute videos without all of the breaks are perfect! Also pairing it with…
  • Hi all, I'm planning on starting out on Monday, and plan to do this program with P90x3 (since both are 1/2 hour programs). Getting up early the first few days is tough, then I'm in the habit and it's much easier!
  • I found that any kind of "clarifying" or "chleating" shampoo works well to get the chlorine out- without the expense of the special swimming versions. Suave has a cheap one for about $2. For skin, I make my own body sugar scrub. Olive oil, brown sugar & honey. It keeps my skin from drying out and seems to get the smell of…
  • I don't know if you vary your distances or not, but the way I got my speed up was to increase my distance. I was used to running 5ks and trained at that distance. Once I started training with 4,5, and 6 mile runs my speed on those 5ks increased.
  • I'm back! I took a few months off to do TapouT with my husband (we both hated it) and then another few months off to heal a stress fracture in my shin from running. But I'm back and loving 5x5! I never see much difference in weight/inches, but I feel strong and healthy and that matters more than anything else to me.
  • Tony likes to yap. Once you've done the videos a few times and know the moves you can do it yourself going off the worksheets and skip the videos. I usually did the workouts in 30-45 minutes instead of 45-60.
