What Was Your Work Out Today?
I am often going on to Instagram to get work out ideas, as I follow a few trainers who post videos. I work out 5-6 days a week and like to mix it up & try new things. I thought I would start a discussion and have people post their work outs. Maybe give each other some good ideas! If I stick with the same thing over and…

Fitbit exercise linked to MFP
Can anyone explain how the calorie adjustment on MFP works? Is it purely for your steps or does it take into consideration all the other exercise logged in your Fitbit? I have them linked but today I walked 12,000 steps, did a 30 minute hit session (recorded as 200 calories on fitbit) and 15 min cross trainer (100…

Exercise calorie accuracy
I’m a 71 year old guy that bicycles 100-125 miles per week on some awesome hilly roads in SW Wisconsin. I use an Apple Watch that syncs great with MFP but I seriously doubt the accuracy of the calories burned during my 90 minutes 12-14 mph ride. Anyone else have this concern or how they compensate for it? Thanks, Nick

Need to buy dumbbells
Trying to get back into lifting, something I’ve never stuck to for any period of time…more on and off and never building up any strength. So my husband, 60 and hasn’t lifted since he played football in high school, and myself 58, decided to make a small garage gym. We’re just starting with dumbells, a rebounder (which is…

How to log mini stepper workouts
I have very limited space to work out right now and unless I'm going swimming right now our days get no lower than 90 so for my workouts I got one of those mini steppers but I can't see how to log them. I don't have a fitbit or anything so how should I log my workouts on it?

Lifting Heavy AND Running?
I have been going to the gym and lifting 4 days a week since Sept 2024. I do 2 days upper body, and 2 days lower body per week. I wasn't doing any 'true' cardio, just walking/training my dogs. Recently, I decided to add in running. I'm currently on Week 2 Run 3 of C25K. I am running 3 days a week. I am doing the runs on…

Bungee workout: Except for the 'fun' aspect, I don't see much benefit
I saw a lot of people expressing excitement about this bungee fitness class and what a great workout it must be. Personally, I don't see much benefit. Yes, I get that some will think it's fun, and that might motivate them to get off the couch. I acknowledge that benefit, though I personally that's overrated. (Relying on…

Logging Gym Exercises

Exercise logging question
Exercise logging doesn't seem to be very flexible. My goal is 100 or more pull-ups per week. The days, sets, and reps per set vary depending on how I feel. But the logging interface is very rigid - you have to set up an exercise with a specified number of reps and sets, while mine vary all over the place. Similarly, I do a…

what do you think is better for weight loss, walking or running?
I've been reading some conflicting information about walking vs running for weight loss. Some studies say running burns more calories per minute, but others mention that walking for longer periods can be just as effective and easier to sustain. I've also seen research suggesting that moderate intensity exercise like brisk…

TDEE Exercise
So when I’m answering the option regarding exercise, I’m unsure what to tick. I walk on average 12000 steps each day. 7500 on the treadmill and the remainder things like school run, walk to village shop and general walking round the home doing chores, etc. Would I class thus as moderate exercise?

Walking VS Jogging
I am 5’4 and have loss 20 pounds since March 1st. I walk on the treadmill 30 minutes on a 10 incline 3.0 speed 3-4 times a week. I also do strength training afterwards. My goal is fat loss. Should I start jogging? Or should I continue to walk?
