Candy at night 😐
hello! I’m starting back on my fitness and diet journey. I have had 2 kids in 3 years. I used to be super into macros, but I don’t really want to get obsessed with tracking. I am trying to log all of my food and stay within my calorie guidelines. With that being said… I struggle a lot with the after the kids go to bed…

BMI drop :-)
Hi, all. It's been a hot minute since I've posted, but I wanted to share. In late Jan, my doc fussed at me about my blood sugar, and he ran an A1C test. It was right on the border for being diabetic, and he wanted to put me on Metformin. I asked him to give me 3 months to make lifestyle changes. I go Monday for a new A1C.…

How long did it take you to start losing again after giving birth?
I’m 7 weeks postpartum, not breastfeeding, and have been limiting my calorie intake to 1200-1400 calories a day for the past month. Despite this, I haven’t lost a single pound, although the app says I should have lost 7-8 by now. 😭 For those who lost weight after pregnancy and started making efforts right after birth, how…

For those calorie counters, have you found the calorie budget fitness pal give you pretty accurate?
I notice my calorie budget is slightly different on fitness pal and lose it by a couple hundred but generally in the same ballpark. Curious for those of you that calorie count and adhere to the budget they give you, have you found it to be pretty accurate for your weight loss? Is it off? Do you have to make adjustments?

Advice needed: when would you see change in numbers
I’d like some advice. I lost 4 stone over 7 or so months using a GLP1 medication. My circumstances changes and I’m not going to the gym, being more focused on nutrition and macros. Im tracking everything. I shared screenshots on current numbers I’m not seeing the numbers on the scales move. Should I be concerned? I’m on…

The Never Ending Story; It's Still Me and My Body
Here is am again…..23 kg gained back in 8 months. Only 13 kg from where I started. My feelings: Sadness, frustration, disappointment and……shame. My thoughts: Hopelessness, futility, and resentment Yet…here I am so I must have hope. It's my body and it can only rely on me to whisper soft messages of encouragement and…

NEAT Improvement Strategies to Improve Weight Loss
Before I get to the point - more successful weight loss (Yay!) - please bear with me for a bit of background, so we're all on the same page. Your daily calorie burn, or TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) is composed of your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate, the amount you'd burn in a coma) + NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity…

Frustrated at lack of progress
Title says it all really. At the start of the year I started cycle commuting to improve my fitness and lose weight. After a pretty lazy 2024 I put on a few kg, however after cycling over 1000km and following a healthier diet and about 1900cal a day I've lost 2kg. I know it should be celebrated and shouldn't be rushed but…

Banked calories? Is it legit?

Low Carb or Unrealistic?
Been advised not to exceed 34 grams of carbs for any of the 03 meals planned for each day in response to my Insulin Resistance and Pre-Diabetes diagnosis, but is this even possible in light of the fact that No Distinction was made between the different kinds of carbs, and I do Love my Fruits. Any Thoughts/Opinions or more…

Exchanging Pride for Grace
Why am I sharing this? Because many people think just because they mess up, their journey is over, or they are failures. It doesn't have to be that way. I've dropped 10 pounds (mostly water weight) since my doc appointment March 20th. I realized I don't need a 1200 calorie diet to lose weight right now, I am 5'1" and…

Disillusioned
I have a low thyroid for many years. It was very low and this is 3 weeks with the new medication. I regained 40 pounds due to this. Very unhappy about that. Hi all, I’m 42 years old and 172 cm tall. I’ve been going to the gym for years, but it seems I wasn’t doing it right in terms of progressive overload. Weight Loss After Chemo (Breast Cancer)
I am 45 years old, and I was diagnosed with breast cancer last May. I decided to get double mastectomy last August (after considering family history) with reconstruction at the same time. I ended up with necrosis and had to go back into surgery to remove them and decided to stay flat (best decision for me). I then had to…

I am a nature bodybuilder and starting a contest prep for April. We all know as we get older it is harder and harder to lose fat so this time, I was going to try something different. Choosing the correct activity level
Found this and thought it was actually useful: When you have to find out how many calories you burn in a day, you put your info in a calculator and it undoubtedly asks for your activity level. iOS: food database messed up again?
Gosh, has MFP messed with the food database again? With the iOS app I get very few raw produce that I used to use all the time. Even adding raw or USDA (yeah, I know it's not the original USDA stuff) just yields meals including those. Like today I searched for green beans, which I eat quite regularly. I got masses of stuff…
