Can I eat my calories burned?
maybe a stupid question, but I’m new here. If my calorie goal is 1500, but I exercise and burn 1000 calories (I run long distances) and the total now increases to 2500cal, am I “allowed” to eat over and above the 1500cal…? Not the full 1000cal amount of course, but just somewhere in between?

Gaining weight?
I started working out 10 days ago, I work out 6 days a week, 45 min on the elliptical. I have gained 7lbs since I started! I track everything I eat and stay constantly under my calories (1900 a day) I eat protein, some carbs. I do have a couple drinks in the evening but it’s only vodka soda or tequila soda (and I track…

When Did Logging Start to Feel Normal for You?
Just curious, how long did it take before logging your food felt like part of your day and not a chore? I’m a few weeks in. It’s getting easier, but I still forget random snacks sometimes. Also kinda proud when my diary actually looks balanced at the end of the day. Anyone else feel that?

Lost 27 on intermittent fasting, gained 18 back :(
Last year I lost 27 on intermittent fasting, going from 187 to 159.8, then added exercises, and started having more appetite, ended up slowly going off the fasting schedule, to eating like everyone else in the house, 3 meals a day, mostly healthy, but probably more calories than needed, causing me to gain 18 back in the…

Calorie Defecit?
I will be honest, I tried to google my deficit and I chose 1500 as my daily calories. I saw a dietitian one time and she told me to increase to 1700-1800. I feel like I’m hitting a stall in my weight loss. I’m fluctuating more often and I feel concerned about gaining the weight back. It’s been very hot out and my asthma…

Just starting MFP and leaving for a cruise!
Hi! I am new to MFP and figuring this all out; however, one timely and essential question I have is how to properly log/track my food consumption while on a cruise. Almost all my meals will consist of no bar scans (which is all I know how to do at the moment) and a tad nervous I will fall back in to old habits if I don’t…

I wanted to share progress on the start of my newest journey! It’s been maybe two or three years since I posted in the MyFitnessPal community. 10 pounds
Ugh. 10 pounds. Through problems at work, other issues going on and whatnot, I let it go and gained 10 pounds over 6 months. We all have done it at some point or another. Now it's just facing it down and buckling down again for the next 6 months. 😒 But it'd be nice to just keep ignoring reality🤣

What exercises can I do as a beginner? (And advices on my calorie intake after starting to work out)
I want to start working out again to hopefully tone my body and lose weight steadily. The thing is, I haven't worked out for three years now and I don't know what exercises I should do. And!, I can't do running or walking anymore because I need to work early and I finish late, so all I can do are home exercises. Also, I'm…

Found this and thought it was actually useful: When you have to find out how many calories you burn in a day, you put your info in a calculator and it undoubtedly asks for your activity level. Hi all! My first post here since "coming back." An accident in 2022 laid me up for over a year. I have done all the protocol with PT etc, and am FINALLY "on the other side." Base Goal
Hello all. My base goal is 2500 calories. I’ve been eating between 1800 - 2000. Is that too low? I am down 12 pounds but it’s going slow. Do you think I’m eating too few calories and it’s slowing the process?

Caloric calculations
Does the Myfitness app give you a caloric allowance that takes into consideration the weight loss goals and info that you've entered at the beginning?
