Looking for fellow maintainers ....
Hey all. I am looking for a few more friends who are maintaining like me. I lost 60 lbs from May-Dec, starting at 189 and currently weigh in at 130. I've been fluctuating between 129-133 for about 4 months now. I still work out 5-6 days a week and watch what I eat. I eat around 1600 calories a day and am comfortable eating…

Body recomp and ed recovery!
Up until now I've been averaging about 1500cals a day, but I've been looking at a few websites and most of which are telling me I should be eating around 2200 cals a day to maintain my weight (I'm healthy at 140lbs for 5ft7). I trying to do a body recomp and build muscle while losing fat. At my lowest I weighed 123lbs, too…

Is 1520 too low for Maintenance?
Hey! So I've been in maintenance for awhile and have been maintaining eating about 1520 a day. I'm 5'2.5 and weigh around 103 pounds and am 18 years old. I was just wondering if eating 1520 is too low? I've been maintaining on it fine but should I be eating more? MFP calculated 1520 as my maintenance on sedentary and to be…

I suck at eating the right amount?
My mind is always on food and I end up overeating quite often, this has been the longest I've actually been able to maintain my weight and not gain and I want to keep it that way, any tips on how to improve self control or stop from overeating?

Finally hit my goal but i just sprained my ankle :(
This has to be the absolute worst timing for an injury! The last time I rolled my ankle it was a good week before I was back to walking normally on it. I wasn't in any fitness routine back then either. Now that I've dropped 30 lbs and am so excited (and nervous) about maintaining I'm wondering what I can do to not get…

Rest/Recovery days
Hey All, I'm trying t figure out exactly how often I should be resting. I'm currently trying to gain weight, but I am not doing a regimented strength training program. What I AM doing is 2-3 days/week of running for about 40 minutes (I know that that is NOT what I am supposed to be doing for weight gain, but I just really…

Maintenance Help Please
Hey all! I took about a month break from tracking everything, it was causing some major issues, bringing up some old eating disorder habits etc. I was bingeing and then laying in bed all day depressed, or I'd give up when I was already over on carbs and just throw in the towel. I've decided to start back up and focus on…

Recomping, strength training advice
Hello, I just joined MFP about 2 months ago with the goal of losing 5 pounds. After reading some of the posts here, I think maybe what I really need to do is recomp/maintain. I'm 5' 4" and right now about 117 pounds. I have a VERY small frame and really not much muscle at all, so even at this weight I have a few fat rolls…

Low - 111. Now -114. Set point or maintenance failure?
I have been trying not to freak out over the few pounds gain, but I am getting curious how much I am supposed to weigh! I went from 134 to 110.5 in 2.5 years, little pains, just log, exercise etc. In other words, no starvation. BUT I did start with 1200 cal/day....then 1300/day....then 1500/day....so there was some serious…

Does saving calories on weekdays for weekends work?
I've heard lots of people saying that they're eating a deficit on weekdays and eat those calories back on weekends does that really work? Are you still able to maintain your weight that way?

I Hate my Gym/Confidence Issue
I lost around 95 pounds (not using MFP- on my own) and lately I've just been feeling really bad about myself when I go to the gym. It all started when I started taking new classes and everyone, including the instructor, turned out to be endurance athletes. I live in SoCal, and currently in a VERY image-conscious part, and…

New to counting calories & feeling hungry
I have been using weight watchers on-line for 3 years with great success. I lost 40lbs in the first year and have been able to keep it off. Since I was only doing on-line (never going to a meeting) I continue to have to pay the monthly fee. I cancelled my membership and thought I would give MFP a try. My problem is I am…

How much Sodium do you average a day?
Hey, I'm really trying to concentrate more on my macros right now because I want to become healthier but one thing I've really been struggling with is sodium. Some days I go over 3000, while other days I'm super low. I'm sort of confused with the amount of sodium that I should be eating. I've heard any where between…

Maintaining goal weight seems insanely easy
So I put in my information for when I expect to be at my goal. 21 male 74 inches tall weighing 205 pounds. Lightly active. Scooby says my maintaining calories would be 2942. 2942!! This seems absurd to me. I don't know what other sites are credible but if you know of one can someone link me? Thanks

Recently I've been eating the same but have been taking more fitness classes with weight training. How Much Stock Should I Put In A Weigh-In?
So I am transitioning into weight maintenance and trying to find my "sweet spot" calorically. I thought I found it on monday when my weigh in was steady from last week (on tuesday my weight was the exact same again). However, today I am down a POUND! I don't want to lose anymore weight, do you think I should up calories…

MInd over maintenance
I am having a mental problem with gaining weight because of working out. I am a full ten pounds heavier than my "goal" weight. My clothes are fitting the same or better. I am lifting weights and doing other weight training work. I can't seem to lose my focus of weighing my lowest, though I know getting stronger is best. I…

Is it possible to gain while staying in calorie goals?
I recently had an emergency surgery, after which I dropped 15 lbs (not intended, just didn't feel well afterwards and slept most of the days away). This got me down to the weight I wished to be at. Now that I am at this weight… if I continue to eat the way I was eating (healthy, fresh foods and within my TDEE range), will…

Need help with... well... everything...
So I started my fitness journey on January 27 of this year and I've been going hard core and non stop since. I was not overweight to begin with, but I was not in shape at all. I had a major health scare late last year that kicked me into gear to take better care of myself. I am 6' tall, 32 years old and when I started I…

Maintenance on Special Occasions
So it's Easter soon, and it's also my first 'special occasion' of maintenance - for my birthday and Christmas I was still losing weight, so still adhered to a diet in a sense, but next Sunday will be my first time, and I was just wondering, what do y'all do when it's a special occasion (especially a food filled one like…

Can't seem to lose 10 lbs! There's not much else I can do!
Maybe someone can help me. I'm 34 mother of 3. Currently weigh 130 lbs. I'm better at 120 lbs because I'm only 5'1" and it just looks better on me. I developed a gut over the winter and I can't lose it. It's not huge or anything but its making all my clothes tight and I really don't want to buy new clothes for the summer.…

Maintaining weight and bloating!
Hey guys! I have 2 questions here. I started using MFP about a year ago to lose some weight and start leading a healthier life. I have reached my goal weight and am not sitting around the 54 kilo (118 pound) mark (i'm 158 cms and have about 21% body fat). While i'm happy with my current weight, I would still like to lose…

Postpartum blechs
I gave birth to the most wonderful little thing on earth 2.5 months ago. Before I got pregnant, I was logging my food and exercising like a boss and I lost 20ish pounds. I took a break that turned out to be about a year of gestating and getting used to having a baby around. During my pregnancy, I was so nauseous that I…

No idea how many calories I should be eating?
Ive recently lost alot of weight by eating around 1200-1500 calories per day, however I broke my diet ALOT ( at least 1 or 2 times per week due to social life, where I would get through alot of calories due to alcohol consumption, or through eating burgers at resteraunts.) I ate this much as I was aiming to loose a little…
