Experiences with hunger while maintaining
Hi I have read that weight loss can cause increased hunger. People who have maintained for a good amount of time: did you find this to be true, and did you find hunger decreasing again after longer periods of maintenance?

Recomp without heavy weights possible?
Sorry if this is a repetitive question. I’ve read some posts but nothing really related to what I wanna ask... Appreciate redirections to any existing post! :) I’ve been maintaining my weight for a few years now (minus the time when I was pregnant & the first 14 months postpartum) and am not logging food as seriously as in…

Fooling Myself
Hi - I am in maintenance, having lost over 100lbs last year, and have kept it off for a year. I am sticking with MFP for all the reasons the rest of you are as well - i have silly question to ask- AM I the only one here who tends to trick myself by not recording things i shouldn't eat ? or under reporting how much I may…

Toning Newb
Hey guys, I've been exercising diligently for the past 7 weeks under quarantine and paying attention to what I've been eating, and I want to know if I'm doing this losing weight, toning up thing right. Please note that I don't have any particular weight expectations, I would mostly like to decrease my fat percentage. My…

Crash dieting
Hi guys, I need some help! Over the last 6 years my weight has fluctuated between 11 stone 8lbs at my lowest and 15 stone 5lbs at my highest (which I’m at right now.) I was wondering if there are any tips on how to maintain my weight when I reach my goal? This is the 3rd time in 6 years on this app. I’m very lucky to say…

Simplified ways of tracking for maintenance
Has anyone simplified their way of tracking for maintenance? For example, instead of weighing every vegetable for the day, just logging a preset generic entry for veggies. Some days you may eat more, some days less, but it averages over time. I am just thinking of ways to simplify tracking for the long run.

Should I eat all calories to maintain?
I’ve been maintaining my weight for the past 3 years using MFP. I’m curious though, when trying to maintain my weight, should I always be aiming to eat all of my daily allotted calories? I find myself sometimes accidentally losing weight because I don’t always use them all. Specifically I struggle with “cheat meals”. Every…

Covid-19 (not virus, but #)
For those that are new to working from home, what are you doing to avoid gaining weight during this time? My desk and kitchen are one in the same, next to the pantry. Light schedule and boredom eating is setting in. I’m lucky to have nice walking trails and a gym in the garage, but still need to keep the wheels turning for…

I maintain, but don't track workouts.
I maintain calories of 2100, weigh 120 lb, and I'm 5'5. Oh, and I'm a female. I do about 2-3 workouts a day (CrossFit, cardio, weight training) when at home. I'm a wrestler, too, when that's in season and I've had the occasional wrestling practice while in off-season. I also do track and will do cross country. Moral of the…

Looking to make new friends in maintenance.
I'm looking to make 'friends' with others in the maintenance phase. (Wisconsin or midwest ladies would be preferred). Anyone is welcome to friend me. I have been on here for years and now I've lost a lot of weight and struggling to maintain.

Lost Weight on Maintenance Calories
Hi everyone. I am losing weight on maintenance calories and this didn't really come as a surprise as I am going to bed hungry, especially on more sedentary days when MFP lowers the calories. My ultimate goal is to maintain weight without tracking calories but my fear is that I will gain weight this way, as I am prone to…

Corona Maintenance Crazy?
I am 5’7” 135lb (SW222) 57yo, and reached goal a couple of weeks ago. After months of painfully slow loss, the last 5-7 pounds dropped crazily and unexpectedly fast since the stay at home orders. My activity is same or up because I’m making a conscious effort to do as much as before, while cutting calories to be on the…

Need some advice. (Progress pics)
Hello! I’m new to the fitness community and I have been doing my best for about three months now. I first started with a cut due to be being “skinny fat”. I’m 5 feet 3 inches and I weigh about 103 to 104. I workout 5 days a week with a combo of cardio and weight training as best I can while I’m home. I really would like to…

Carb Catch-22
Hey all, according to my profile settings, FitnessPal (and other sites) says I need around 260 carbs a day to maintain. However, I'm also teetering in and out of being pre-diabetic. My sugar intake levels are well below the target number, but I'm concerned that 260 carbs a day, though it will help me maintain my weight,…

Anxiety about weight gain on vacation.
Please don't let anxiety spoil your enjoyment of what should be a special time with family/friends/loved ones. That can include enjoying good / new / different foods as well. With perspective of time a temporary gain really isn't significant, mostly a quick gain is water related and if you do add some fat too then none of…

Lost 8lbs in a month - Losing all progress
Since all the gyms closed I’ve lost 8lbs. It took me years to gain that. 138 now to 130. I watch my weight drop almost everyday. My diet has not changed at all. The only change is that I don’t have access to heavy weights. What can I do to get back up?? These at home push up and squat exercises don’t help

Entertainment: is maintenance a trend line just like weight? When does it start?
@AnnPT77 wrote in a post that she has been maintaining x-number-of-years. So I'm wondering... how long have I been maintaining? When does it "count" as maintenance? A self declaration? A trend-line? A deliberate range? A stall regardless of intent? What #counts#? And if I am not the only one with these weird thoughts...…

Happy to reach goal but do you ever get the feeling...
Do you ever get the feeling that when finally you've reached your goal weight and you've lost all you've wanted to lose that behind every "wow, great job on the weight loss!" "wow you're so thin!" "you look great!" is actually a sneaky "I wonder how long she'll keep the weight off" ? How do you deal with that pressure? :/

Maintaining weight

Holiday weight spike!
I hope everyone had a great holiday season. How much did you gain (if anything)? I ate and drank everything I could get my hands on and gained about 5lbs since about 12/21. In addition to high consumption, I had a cold and stopped exercising for a week. I'm going to be curious how fast it comes back off! And, I want to…
