Oh, I loved that show. I didn't know they were making a movie. I will definitely go see that! Thanks for the heads up!0 -
-I like my kids. I'm going to keep both of them. My husband, too. I like him. I think I'll keep him.
-I have never had a Quest bar or a protein drink. I'll just have a Hershey bar and a glass of chocolate milk.
-My dog's name is Woola. He is as dumb as mud and sheds like crazy but I'm keeping him too. He is an awesome foot warmer.
-I weigh myself everyday but only log it when the number goes down.
-I own my own business but still think my boss is a b*tch some days.
-I'd fire my only employee but it would make dinner uncomfortable and upset our children.
-I do Zombie Run, late at night, and sometimes have to look over my shoulder to make sure I'm not being chased.
-The first time I found bats in an attic I was inspecting I screamed like a 3 year old girl, the second time I threw up my hands and yelled "I'M BATMAN!"
-I can type with 7 fingers.
-I got my first injury at work to day. A leaded window slammed closed on my hand. It broke 2 fingers. It hurt plenty until the meds kicked in.
So, how is everyone?
Your post was hilarious until I read about your fingers:(. Ouch!0 -

thank you to everyone who messaged me and left notes on my wall. I'm sorry I wasn't that able to engage, it was just taking a lot of energy to remain upright some days.
Don't worry about us! Take care of yourself. We miss you but you need to take care of yourself and taking care of yourself will certainly help that. Congrats on the trainer and *hugs*.

My NSV for today is that I told the little voice in my head to get lost, and I put the DVD on, and I did the whole darn level 1 workout! *feels like a boss*
My muscles feel a little wobbly, but I feel so good. I finished it! And if I did it once, I can do it again. And again!
I remember that and...this is a great reminder to all of us that just because today we 'can't' tomorrow we can if we keep plugging away at it. This isn't a sprint, its a marathon (weight loss, fitness, better/healther eating). And we are all in it to win it!
Yes! And mental as much as anything. I don't think I am really any fitter than that day, and I am not substantially lighter (only a few kilos), but this time, I was determined, super-determined, to do it. I'm glad I live alone - no-one should have to see my crazy eyes as I pushed through it!
And I know some people say Jillian drives them nuts on her DVDs, but I actually really liked it, when she would constantly tell me, "Remember why you're here today."0 -
When I was a kid I said new-clear for a whole school year. My teacher never corrected me because she thought it was cute. (I have a family member with a degree in nuclear engineering. He finally told me what i was doing.)0 -
Hi, all,
Just giving a quick update, as I may be in and out over the next few days. I am at my Mom's for vacation with my sister and her 2 kids who are 14 (girl) and 10 (boy). We are going to NY today and visiting the new world trade center and then maybe the village and maybe the Empire State Bldg. Then Times Square tonight and dinner. Then I booked a hotel off of central park and in the AM we'll go for a long walk in central park (I am going to run there in the AM before they get up), lunch in central park and then I got us all tickets to the Lion King. I have never seen it and am SO excited.
I live 45 minutes from NY, used to work there daily, still go in a lot, and still get like a kid when I can go in and play tourist. I LOVE NYC!
Will take plenty of pics to share with you all when I can get them uploaded.
Take care... sorry have to say this... no politics and remember no swearing! (Excusing yourself or apologizing to the people who don't like it before you swear still counts as swearing...). I think we have all gotten back to a good place the last few days, let's stay there so we don't lose any of our dear friends. Thanks!0 -
I'm here! Are you missing me?! I'm in Mexico and I'm definitely gaining weight. Damn you, all inclusive buffet and bar! Last time I was away I gained a pound for every day, but only one was 'real' weight, so I'm hoping this time is similar.
Best wishes to all! I'll catch up when I'm home on Friday. xxx
Hope you had a great time! I am trying not to gain too much weight on my vacation!0 -

ETA This is advice I am going to work very hard to follow in my life in the coming months to year. I just found out about son possibly needing another heart surgery. I will be interested to see SO's reaction. His son also has special needs but has not needed surgeries. It is going to be challenging for me to watch my son go into the congestive heart failure again (unless medicine has changed since the last time and that is possible too) before they take the risk of surgery. I need to figure out what I need/expect from SO and I need to see what he does without being pushed into anything. This will certainly be a place when I can see how compatible we are long term. Would I cut him free if he does not handle it well? Yes. I know that people are who they are and real change is rare. So far it has been good. We'll see where this new development leads. I will not settle for less than a great match.
ETA #2 Just spoke to him. His initial reaction was loving and compassionate and just right.
I am so sorry your son is having such a hard time. May I ask how old he is?
Glad your SO is supportive, that you will have someone to lean on during this time.
He is 15 now. Thank you.0 -

Mine went well! It was perfect weather, just a few clouds & it was cooler to start off with, which is nice. The route took us through a really nice park, with lots of trees and a couple ponds. I finished in about 33 minutes.
Great to hear it was perfect weather & awesome finishing time!
I haven't gotten back to this original post but congratulations! Sounds gorgeous and great time!!!!!0 -

So I'm slowly sliding into "maintenance" (I'd still love to lose another 7 lbs or so before I have plastic surgery) and upping my cals, which actually seems to be working out ok. I'm adding about 100 extra this week, then next week I'll add another 50-100 extra, etc. I'm such a nut though that I compensate by immediately going and exercising more *sigh* ugh!
Checked my calendar and it looks like the 1st week of Nov is the best time at work for me to have the surgery and finances should be ok by then, too. So that's the tentative time frame I'm working with, and I should be able to pull 5-7 lbs off by then. We'll see what the surgeons say, I guess. It's about 14 weeks away, so that seems pretty feasible.0 -
Crazy busy at work! Miss you guys!0

Hello everyone, sorry I was away on a long weekend and haven't had time to keep up. I haven't been doing very well on this website recently.Glinda1971 wrote: »I'm one of those weirdo's...I prefer cold weather to warm. I'm a weirdo too then. There is a limit to how many clothes you can take off and be decent in public when it's too hot.
You can add as many layers as you need when it's cold. And I love sweaters!!
I love being hot and once I am cold I find it hard to get warm no matter how many layers... I have to lay shivering under an electric blanket or take a long hot bath.
This is the only way I can warm up if I have been cold for a long time. My thighs just stay cold which just makes the rest of me feel cold.0 -

Do you call it pop, soda, soft drink, or coke (for all drinks)? I grew up in South Carolina and down there, as far as I'm concerned, pretty much all of us call it soda. I've never heard anyone actually say ''pop.'' And why would you call every soda ''Coke?" Coke is a specific drink!!!
I took a quiz to see where in the US I sound like I'm from. Florida, Maine, and Boston were high up there (Boston, really?). Here's the quiz if you guys want something to do: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2013/12/20/sunday-review/dialect-quiz-map.html
EDIT: Apparently I sound absolutely nothing like people from Detroit.
EDIT2: Took the quiz again and got three cities in California. No matter what it says Detroit is least similar.
I call it soda pop, but one of my brothers calls it Coke. As in, "What kind of Coke do you want? Sprite or Pepsi?"
If someone asked me that I would have thought they were asking if I wanted fat coke, diet coke, coke zero or coke life. Not a completely different fizzy drink all together, lol
You forgot fat Cherry Coke. Which is the best of all of the Cokes.
We finally got Cherry Coke back in the last couple weeks. I was SO excited to see it the store. I was like "I need this, right now"
It is seriously one of life's hardest decisions deciding between Cherry Coke and Dr. Pepper at restaurants that offer both. I feel like I'm Sophie in Sophie's Choice.
Cherry Coke definitely wouldn't be at restaurants here, and not very many places have Dr Pepper.
I found the same thing in Florida. If they had something, it was usually Mr. Pibb. We've had this discussion before. Mr. Pibb IS NOT DR. PEPPER. I'm pretty sure the next time I go somewhere and ask for a Dr. Pepper and they ask, "Is Mr. Pibb okay?" I'm going to say, "Sure, is Monopoly money okay?!"
Ah ha ha ha brilliant!0 -

Yeah Michiganders are notorious for all of this. We say (well, some do) Pacific, aks/axe you a question (instead of ask) expresso (I don't; I'm a coffee snob so I say espresso lol)... we mangle the English language.0 -
