should I start nrolfw?
I just ordered the book and am very excited about getting started. My concern is that I have committed to boot camp for 3 days a week for the next 3 months and training for a 15k in July which requires me to run 3 days per week. One of those days is usually just 2 miles so I feel like I could lift that day. I'm not sure…

Lifting Videos
Does anybody know of any youtube videos, etc., that show some of the good lifting exercises in good form? I mean, I can just go search videos, but I wouldn't know good form if it bit me.

Even Lance Armstrong Agrees...
That you should eat more. http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/ Check his calorie calculator - recommended calorie goals even for 2 lbs per week weight loss come nowhere near the 1200 low cal range.(at least for my calculations) check it out! :)

Crazy what sodium does to you
So on saturday morning I was 292.5 (my start weight since upping my cals). I ate healthy all day. Sunday morning was 293, no big deal. However that was determined to be my cheat day. I ate healthy, but for dinner me and some buddies went out to pizza. I had 4 slices of pizza (pepperoni, bacon and extra cheese), 3 small…

Ok I'm putting myself out there.....
I'm going to try this upping calories to try and shift my last bit. Last Christmas eve was my one year anniversary of staying at 66kg with weight watchers. I am still there no matter what I do. I'm 5ft 1.5 inc (157cm) and 147 pound (67kg)..... If I could lose my boobs there would be about 10lb easily lost. 39 years and…

"Netting BMR" is a mathematically flawed concept
Hi everyone, This has become my pet peeve on the MFP forums lately, and I noticed that it's in the sticky posts for this group a fair bit. Before I get into the math, let me make it clear that I am not recommending that anyone eat an unhealthy low amount of food, and that I agree with the basic premise of this group…

Weight lifting routine?
I just got a home gym and i am really loving it! But it feels like i am lost on a routine to follow..so far i have been doing 2 set of 10-15 reps, and have been working all muscle groups 3 times a week. i dont know what the weight wise is because the lower pulley has a higher resistance with lower weights, while using the…

Crossfit or boot-camp workouts for strength training?
I noticed a lot of people in this group lift weights, something I've never enjoyed doing (and therefore would find reasons to skip it!). I do, however, LOVE strength training when it's incorporated into a Crossfit- or boot camp-style workout - lots of compound, agility, and functional fitness movements interspersed with…

Eating more= getting more hungry???
I think I have seen this posted before...but I could not find it anywhere.... Some history....I have upped my calories to 1750 for the past 3 weeks or so....I am usually extremely close to this number everyday....When I first upped them, I felt so stuffed taking in that amount everyday, and it was a struggle to try to take…

Lost a bit - anyone care to check my diary?
Ok so I've had my weekly weigh-in and I've lost 0.25lb this week. I was kind of hoping for at least half a pound. I've just changed my macros to the 40/30/30 that I see mentioned a lot and was wondering if someone would just give my diary a quick look to see if there's anything I should be doing differently. I don't log my…

Macros
Truth is..... I SUCK at this whole 40/30/30 thing! I'm constantly over on my carbs, sugar, and sodium. Even when I think I've ate really healthy for the day, nope I'm still not within my macros!! When I started this journey 7 weeks ago I thought it was just about counting calories and exercising. Then I started doing some…

How do I know if eating more is for me??!!!
Hi all! I've just hit my 1 year anniversary on MFP and have lost about 10 lbs since last April. The problem is that I lost those 10 lbs within my first few of months and have been maintaining my weight ever since then. I started at around 1250 calories a day but I couldn't keep it up for long and ended up switching to…

Should I change my activity level for the summer?
Hey! Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question, but I keep going back and forth. Here's the back story. I upped my cals to 1800 around February. I ate around 1800/day and never less than my BMR. I lost 3 lbs at the beginning and since then I've been maintaining around 143-145. I recently upped my cals again to 2000…

Scared to take that first step!
Is anyone else in the same boat as me! I'm just petrified to eat more! I think it has been drilled into us that you have to eat less in order to lose weight!

Clarifying amount of protein needed
I just wanted to comment, that I've seen everyone here say to get 1g of protein per pound of body weight, but in reality all the info. points to 1g of protein per lb. of LEAN body weight. So, once you know your BF %, you should aim to get enough protein for your LEAN mass, not total weight. Thoughts???

Question about nrol4W
Hi eveyrone, I just joined this group a couple nights ago. I have been on a plateau since last October. I am soaking in all this ABUNDANCE of info here and hoping for a change soon! I am wondering for those of you that do the NROL4W, is that all you are doing? Do you add cardio to this? I bought the book on Amazon last…

Tracking Sugar???
My trainer said that I am eating too much sugar and I won't burn any fat because of the amount of sugar I am eating. Please ignore my diary for the past week. It was my birthday and sugary treats kept coming my way. I have my macros set for 40/30/30 and stay within those guidelines on most days. Should I be tracking my…

Which way did you up your calories-fast or slow?
What do you reckon will happen by upping my calories over 4 weeks to get to my goal calories opposed to just jumping straight in one hit??? I am one of these people who get so discouraged by a gain (again with the mentality side of it going with it) that would rather go with the way that will be less painful for me Thanks

ON MY WAY TO UNDERSTANDING!
So I finally figured out TDEE and BMR and what I should be eating. But now I'm confused about customizing my goals. My TDEE is 2365 and my BMR is 1526. To lose 1-2 pounds weekly my TDEE cut would be 1365-1865 respectively. I figured my BMR was a good middle ground. If I set my goal at 1526 and eat this everyday & complete…

If lifting (IM doing NROL4W) when do you start cutting?
I know there is a bulking and cutting phase but when do you know when to do the cutting and for how long? I was surfing bodybuilding .com and after eating almost 2000 cals I cant fathom cutting back to the 1200-1300 they suggested although their plan did look like a lot of food. They never say for how long to be in the…

Too soon??
I was on a 3 week plateau eating 1600-1700 calories, yesterday I upped them by 250 and I am down 1 lb this morning. Broke into a new number that I haven't seen yet. I was so freaking excited! But I'm wondering, do you think it is too soon for the effects of upping my calories or do you think that's what did the trick!

Starting to eat more but need help with TDEE
Hey all, After losing 23 pounds on MFP's recommended 1,200 net calorie plan (but not always eating back all my exercise calories), my weight loss has slowed but more concerning was that while I had a lot of physical energy, I was starting to lack concentration and focus. I did a little research and found you all and…

Proof of this method????
Any one on here have results/pics/measurements from doing this method only??? I am interested in how long it took you as stated that it is a slow process and granted it is better for your body but I was after some visual motivation if you know what i mean. As it is a matter of getting yourself mentally prepared to increase…

Types of foods to eat more?
With very limited results eating 1200 calories a day, I've decided to try something new... EAT MORE. However, what should I be eating more of? I'm assuming that these calories shouldn't be from junk food or unhealthy foods, so what do you eat to hit that calorie mark? Thanks!

Humor
I saw this on the fat2fit radio facebook page and had to share: http://gubernatrix.co.uk/2012/01/10-good-reasons-why-women-should-stay-away-from-weights/ (Please note the title of the article is ALL sarcasm)

Does anyone want to do a challenge/experiment with me?
Hey all! I am nearing the end of Phase 1 and was thinking of doing a challenge (an experiment might be more appropriate). I have a ton of trouble eating enough (terrified of eating more), but have read too many success stories to refute the idea. I am planning to do the following over the next 8 weeks: - decrease cardio to…

Nrolfw rmr question
Hi everyone. I'm reading my way through this book and I just calculated rmr. It puts me at 1531 non workout days and 1786 workout days to maintain my current weight. I still need to lose about 20 pounds. I'm confused about how many calories to cut off. I just upped 10 days ago to 1500 Plus eating back my excercise cals and…

What workout dvd's are you all using
I work out at home because I have not decided if I want to join a gym again. I am interested in what specific workout dvd's are you all using? (especially those that are heavy lifting) or do you have your own "workout plan" I currently work out to Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones but I have others including (JM- Yoga…

Jumping in with BOTH feet and SCARED
Hi everyone! I have been on a plateau since last October. Started my fitness Journey in January 2011 lost 30 lbs oodles of inches and 4 sizes and stopped at that point, even though I have more to lose. Probably close to 10 lbs or the last layer of fat to reveal my muscles underneath. Anyhow, like most I started out eating…
