Daily weighing (I'm a rebel) :)
My weight loss is weird as my weight can fluctuate daily by alot. The way I know if I am on track is by looking at the last month as a whole. I am logging my calorie intake and loss on an excel document as the reports on MFP are pretty useless. (I do love MFP though) So I am seeing a pattern of about 10 days where my…

What if my cut is below BMR?
I went to a weight loss clinic for 6 months and dropped lots of weight but wrecked my metabolism. I knew before I came here that I needed to eat more so I've been eating over 1,500 calories for over 6 weeks and after an initial gain of 4/5 pounds I am proud to report it finally went back down to where I was before.…

Ladies, please give your opinion on this!
This was just posted by Jillian Michaels on her facebook status: *Weight loss tip - So many people come up to me and tell me they can’t lose weight and yet, I haven’t ever met a person I can’t take weight off. You're not counting calories. Forget all the fad diets for a moment and just focus on the basics. Weight loss will…

Give it time - THIS WORKS!
This is week six of fueling my body properly and I am in utter amazement. Suddenly I have had more energy than I have had in years! I'm blasting my way though workouts & feeling energized afterwards. I'm sleeping better. My attitude is WAY better! LOL The past couple weeks were challenging...the scale was not my friend…

Do you have to lift weights for eating more to really work?
Just a simple little question but I am curious to know if it is require to lift heavy weights to notice changes in your weight lost effort when your eating more? If you choose not to lift weights would you see any real difference in your weight lost mission. I am lifting weights a bit but when I tell people about what I am…

Thank you thank you thank you!!
I just joined your group and I find it all amazing! I have a few questions tho! I started MFP in January and plugged all my numbers in a guess what calories it told me to eat? 1200! I did, for like three weeks, and thought I was dying. My toddler was eating more than me, it was embarassing. Then my friend told me to…

Nervous about my fitness changes!
Last night my husband started training me for my strength training sessions. I am used to focusing mainly on cardio, so not doing any cardio yesterday just felt weird. I totally got my heart rate up doing it, but it was just a new feeling that I am not totally used to. During bootcamp we do a lot with body weight…

%Carb/%Prot/%Fat
Not a BMR question!! YAY!! I've heard the 30% Carb, 40%Protein, 30% Fat ratios. My question is for endurance athletes UDSA reccomends 50-55% Carbs . (http://www.livestrong.com/article/198282-balanced-diet-for-an-athlete/) I'm both lifting heavy (CrossFit), training for a tri and endurance bike ride. Any suggestions…

Thirsty
Hello ! Been upping my calories to 2200 a day recently. Since then, I feel so much thirsty !! I keep drinking water of course, I'm no fan of soda/juice, but it's like I never drink enough. I know sometimes I have sodium days but I always drink a lot, over 8 cups a day. Is it my body adjusting or something ? Anybody had the…

Am I moderately or very active?
Just need some opinions on this--I work out six days a week, but according to my HRM I usually only burn between 400-600 calories per workout. I also walk two miles per day (travel time--I walk to class and work). So my question is, am I moderately active? Or very active?

Do you change your TDEE cut daily?
I am getting a cold, and was way less active than usual today. And I am not working out, I am resting and pushing fluids. Should I recalculate my TDEE to reflect days when I am significantly less active than usual? FWIW I am still rebuilding my metablosim. I am loosing the same pound over and over...I know it will get…

Anyone doing NROLFW also a runner?
I run 3-4 days a week now, and just bought a bike for the off days. I am interested in starting to lift and I was wondering if it would interfere at all?

Help me fiure this out please!!
I started on MFP a week ago. I didn't lose anything this week. I have lost 30 lbs prior to joining here without counting calories. I just started watching what I eat, drinking lots of water, and exercising. I think I may not be eating enough calories. I am exercising a decent amount. I started 30 Day Shred on 4/19 and I am…

Anyone not see the measurements change?
Im ending my 6th week in the eating more plan, week 2 of eating my TDEE-15%. The weight was up and down with the same 2 pound for the first 4 weeks, and then finally last week a 4 pound drop. This week the scale is up again, although I am sure AF is appearing soon. (still a PITA). So in 6 weeks of eating more, the weight…

About 10 Days into This EMTWL Plan....
And I've lost 2 inches on my waist, 1.5 inches right across my bellybutton, 1 inch on each of my legs. I've gained an inch on each of my arms. I am SO PLEASED! This is my first post here on MFP! I read for days on this plan before I understood the plan, tweaked my settings and just went for it. officially about 5 days ago.…

Planning My Workout
So sfter reading these boards for a few days I have decided to actually plan my workout- which is something I haven't dont in years- with the exception of half marathon training programs, which I've done a few times. I took a full semester 6 hour a week weight lifting and fitness class when I was in college which really…

Does it really matter what TIME you eat?
Don't eat after 6pm. Eat 6 meals a day. Eat whatever you want as long as you're within your macros. Don't eat carbs at the end of the day. Drink protein shakes after workouts not before. so many contradictions. Anyone come across medical proof or evidence of truth behind any of this?

Which BMR do I use?
I get two very different numbers when I do calculations for both Harris and K-M BMR levels. Harris - 1832 K-M - 1410 So which one do I use??? TDEE for lightly active is 2507 (I work out 5 days per week, average burn 175 - 250 cals - I figured this fit better with lightly active since it's not mega burns). Based on that, if…

Hi there! New to the community and a little nervous!
Hey folks. (: I'm Krystle and just joined this group today after several months of frustration on the scale. According to the calculations I did after reading all of the fabulous sticky threads here, my BMR is 1530 and my TDEE is a whopping 2640 (I lift three days a week and run four, and have one rest day--I'm a recent…

what to eat when you up calories?
I thought someone said there was a post about eating suggestions? I have read a lot about people having a hard time fitting all the new calories in...and I'm pretty sure we aren't supposed to get them from leftover Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs :) What sort of foods do you add in? Higher fat/higher protein foods like beef,…

How heavy do you lift?
I'm curious about how heavy (specific #s) some of our successful EMTWLers are lifting, especially bench and squat. I'm working on getting into heavier weights but for now I'm ramping up from here: - Benching 60 (two 30-pound dumbbells), which is up from the 40 (two 20s) I was doing a month ago - My trainer has me doing a…

Recommendations for dealing with shoulder pain
Hey all, I am on week 5 of P90X and am loving getting back into strength training. I did a lot of picking up/putting down heavy stuff years ago and had become quite strong, especially in my shoulders (they were always my favorite to train!). Well, now the problem is that getting back into and doing P90X, I noticed within…

It has been 1 month since I upped from 1200-1500 calories/day and started NROLFW. I am trying to have patience. I'm trying to be brave. But, my body fat is increasing 1.5% so far and my thighs have started to touch. I cannot figure out what I am doing so wrong. All my measurements have INCREASED by about 1/2" since about…

Recommendation on weight bench/lat tower for NROLFW
I'm starting the NROLFW program and I have some free weights, ball, barbell and plate set but to get the fullest benefits at home, I'd like to invest in a bench. Does anyone have a bench with a lat tower attachment that didn't cost a fortune? I realize there is an at home lat tower modification, but the lat tower would be…

I am taking measurements of everything tomorrow and will start going by that. Just discouraging to see ,/sigh On a positive note, had a good Costco run…

Upping calories and no exercise?
Has anyone had luck in upping their calories and not really exercising but still losing weight and inches? I know it's best to exercise but just can't get myself motivated!
