Setting calorie goal weight loss post menopause
Hi there. I am relatively new here. I have been tracking my calories the last few weeks tracking everything I put into my mouth. Meals snacks and all those little things we sample when making a meal! I am a 56 year old post menopausal woman 5’7” 180 lbs with a desk job. I work out 5-6 times a week combination of strength…

The Glucose Revolution book—thoughts?
I am curious what people think about the Glucose Revolution book (Jessie Inchauspe) and her hacks for leveling blood sugar. (She is also on Instagram as the Glucose Goddess.) I am particularly interested in the idea of eating your veggies first and then protein/fat and then carbs.

Question About Glucose Reading
6 weeks ago I registered a 12.8 fasted glucose on a blood test. Since then I worked extremely hard on my nutrition (always exercising for years) and got my readings down consistently into the low6s, even a few in the 5s. The last couple days my readings have been high 9s. I havent changed a thing and still work at it just…

6 Habits to lose weight
I just watched this YouTube video by Maria Lucy - Dietician and Nutrition educator. She is Irish. I really like the way she simplified the 6 habits. Thought I’d share in this Community. Her 6 habits are: High protein breakfast (20-30 grams) Know your personal carb code (ranges from 20-50 grams per meal) Increase your daily…

2 pounds per week?
I set out to lose 2 lbs per week and this is how it’s going. I found that as I lose weight I definitely need to eat less calories and or step up my exercise . Plateaus are real as I am fanatical about tracking. Month 1 -13 lbs sedentary 2 -9.5 3 -9.3 4-5 -7.1 45 day cruise; 10k steps 5 -8.2 6 -7 15-25 miles per week

Small Wins
Small wins means saying no to the giant cookies offered in an afternoon meeting at work. Normally I would accept without question but I had a big lunch and turned down the calorie bomb (403 calories per cookie)

Calorie targets
So apparently aiming for less than 1000 calories a day is unhealthy but you need to aim for a calorie deficit of 500 less than your maintenance calorie target… My body scales suggest a maintenance goal of 1334 calories (I’m 5’ 2”) so minus 500 would be around 800 calories a day? Any thoughts from shorter ladies?

OMG I think the berberine worked!
I just had an official A1C test done (because I was having other blood tests done) and in 9 months went from 5.9 to 5.6. I'm no longer pre-diabetic. And with cookies! (If I need more than one test being under 5.7, I don't wanna hear it. I figured I'd keep going up because that's just my luck.)

Fun with time-restricted feeding (TRF)
I am inspired by a recent study that showed that, for fairly large subjects, and fairly modest weight loss (<5% of body weight), time-restricted feeding (TRF, aka "intermittent fasting") works about as well as calorie counting. Shock! I've been using MFP for years and have done many cuts using a calorie counting approach.…

How to get past stress eating

I got seaweed and green tea in hopes of reaching for that…

not losing weight!
I have been logging every single piece of food I eat- I am NOT allowing the app to add calories when I work out - meaning I am staying under the calorie count every day even though I work out and burn 400-600 calories almost every day (for example my calorie intake is 1800 if exercise were considered it would be 2200 but I…
