Maintenance Calories
Wondering what your calorie intake is? I use the sedentary lifestyle on settings although I am a stay at home and up and doing light stuff most of the day. I work out 4-6 days a week doing a variety of cardio and weights. I also have PCOS which slows down my metabolism. 1700 calories seems to be a good number where I am…

What do you weigh 5'9/ 5'10 guys ?
Hi, just wondering what other guys in that 5'9/ 5'10 (175/ 178cm) range weigh ? I'm about 5' 9.5" myself, and wonder what others around that have found to be their optimum weight. Presently, my goal weight is simply the lowest weight I have been in the past, 175lbs (79.4kg), but know I could have shaved off a few pounds…

Body Fat % - help?
I changed my calorie intake to maintenance about 4 months ago. In that time I've started weight lifting (3 months ago) and increased my cardio from what I was doing (1 month ago). Good news: I'm maintaining my weight perfectly. Scale is always +/- half a pound. So that's good. Bad news: Body fat % has also stayed the same…

Trouble with too much focus on the calories
Hi! I'm new to this site, but the reason I joined is that I've actually lost weight lately that I didn't mean to lose, and am in too much control of my daily intake and workouts. I've always been overweight, had about 5kgs to much. But in my late teens I gained a lot of weight, and was up to 97 kgs (I'm 1,73 cm tall). Long…

Changing mode from lose weight to maintain weight
Hello all, It's my first time posting here, and am looking for some advice. My weight story: I was always a lean kid, a little on the thin side. Did classical ballet at a high level till I left high school. Developed depression and anxiety during my university years and have been on anti-depressants. I know that gaining…

Has anyone managed to maintain with binging issues?
Still 2 pounds to lose (well, probably 3 now), but I just end up binging way too much... most days I still manage to stay under my calories, some days I just fail miserably. Has anyone managed to maintain in those circumstances, or am I just doomed to fail? I'm totally clueless about why I binge. It's like I have a…

Hi all, Just looking to think out loud, if anyone spots anything I'm doing wrong then please feel free to say so...... So, I joined a while ago. Made progress, and then got injured. The injury hit my daily life, to the point I could not even get a shower pain free, and could not load the bar, let alone lift. I screwed up,…

So here I am struggling real hard to walk a bazillion steps per day, eat under my caloric limit and doing pretty well overall. But damn, some nights I have an extra beer or chicken wing and it takes me 3+ days to get back on track weight-wise. + Thanksgiving turkey came knocking and I filled a plate with 2lbs of food…

Binge eating once a week
Hi guys! This is my first time writing on here and I just wanted to hear a little about what others may think of my eating habits (lol). So first, a little about myself: I am currently 20 years old, male, and currently weigh (last time I checked) 125 pounds. I am 5'5 in height. I first started using MFP religiously more…

I've wanted to lose weight for years. I am a very athletic 18 year old male. I am 5'9 and 180 lbs. I have determined to finally do it and be at most 160 pounds by the end of the school year.…

Hit my goal...now what?!
I have been with MFP for 14 months, and in that time I have lost 61 pounds (hit my goal weight on my birthday!). I know how to lose weight, but I'm not sure how to maintain. I have not changed my calories yet, because I'm not sure how high to go. I've read SO many different maintenance calories that I should be at, but…

looking for other athletes who are using MFP for nutrition
I mostly use MFP to track my nutrition. I'm a vegetarian and an athlete (weightlifting and powerlifting) and I have a lot of trouble getting adequate protein. Would love some friends who are dealing with the same issues -- especially other powerlifting girls!! :) Thanks!

ED Recovery-Ruined my metabolism by restricting and exercising?
Hi, I recovered from Anorexia 5 months ago on a diet of 2500 kcal for 1 month and then 1200 kcal -1500 kcal for the subsequent months. I was 4 ft 11 inches and 52 lbs, and then I gained to 87 lbs (normal BMI of 18+ for my height). I come from a small-sized Asian family--my mom is 5 ft and 84 lbs and my sister is 5 ft 1 and…

How many calories to maintain weight for a 5'7 female in mid 20's?
I've recently lost a couple pounds putting me happily in the 130's. However, previously its been very hard for me to stay there and out of the 140's. How many calories should I be consuming (Being 24 & 5'7, working as a kindergarten teacher for some wild kids as my only 'real' exercise.) Eating 1300 per day helped me put…

This might sound dumb...
So I've finally reached a weight I feel pretty comfortable maintaining...BUT I'm not at my ideal size. I'm 5ft 4in 19 year old female. My weight fluctuates between 116-120 and I'm currently a size 6 in pants. I'd like to be around a 4, just because that's when I was my most confident (yeah its all that vanity weight talk).…

Almost senior citizen and body-building
Great day everyone. I'm nearing my 55th lifeday and I've lost 60 plus pounds. I lost the weight from February to June. I've maintained my weight between 190 and 195 for the past 4 months. My WiiFit tells me I'm still overweight, but that's another topic. I want to accomplish two things and they might be related. I want to…

Unintentional calorie deficit
I'm trying to maintain my weight, but I'm terrible at estimating how much I'm burning. In addition to my usual 60/70 minute exercise, my internship has had me hiking around a lot recently. There have been several days over the past few weeks that I've been outdoors, easily walking several miles each day. It's not really…

Not able to walk for 4-6 weeks
The title says it all. I've been happily maintaining for about a month and now this: My doctor told me I mustn't put ANY weight onto my left leg (due to an edema in my femoral head) .. which basically means very little to no walking for about 4-6 weeks (with crutches outside the house). To people who have been in a similar…
