Mantaing weight
Hi i am 61today. I am 5 foot 8.10 stone. Size 8. But oh boy it's very hard because I dance more, swim cycle and work hard. But the hardest part I'd cutting down on the food. Still it's worth all the effort if it makes you feel good. It's not easy lots of effort as the motabulisam slows you down. So keep going, and good…

A year on maintenance
I’ve been lifting weights for around a year whilst maintaining. I know I still have a long way to go. I want to start losing some fat now, but wanted to show my progress as I feel that Lifting has really changed my overall shape & even though it’s not such a drastic change I now know how much I’m capable once I get my head…

Motivation in Maintenance
I have been in maintenance since January and it has been a rocky road. Getting better, thanks to the wise guidance of a new MFP friend. One thing I notice is that finding motivators is elusive. I can no longer use the number on the scale going down, which was very reinforcing ( staying at the same number, not nearly so…

Food vacations
Its so tempting to tell myself that I’m going to “take the weekend off” and just eat anything I want to. In the past that mindset always set me off course and it took 20 - 30 pounds gained before I could call a halt. I’m almost to my goal and its so tempting to tell myself that I could lose it back if I just quit trying…

Same weight, but I look and feel different!
Almost one year apart. Same weight, small changes but I’m sooo happy! This past year I can say I’ve put my best efforts in going to the gym consistently 3-5days a week, reducing processed foods and keeping myself accountable with tracking my meals. I feel stronger, more energized, happier and more confident in my own skin.…

Maintenance is hard, you guys
I know I’m the millionth person to make this statement, but it’s true. I’ve been in maintenance for going on 3 months and I’m still not comfortable with it. From what I’ve read and what my Ideal Protein Coach has told me, it takes a year to get it down pat. My weight is definitely creeping up. I can no longer deny it,…

Question for those who yo-yoed before finding their current success
My head is in the game. I am ready to make this go around my final one. I am terrified of getting rid of my larger clothes. They are all in boxes and not in the closet for the most part. But the idea of getting rid of them makes me nervous. This is not the first time I thought this was for good. I have a plan now and I am…

Weight goes down so does Maintenance amount
Good morning. Iv been messing with my goal settings and something is confusing me. Wondering if someone could shed some light. As my weight has gone down so has the recommended maintenance calories in my fitness pall. For example at 75kg it was suggesting 2500 calories to maintain but now at 64kg its down to 2100 calories.…

Later tonight I’ll be working a 12 hours nightshift so happy Exercising everyone. Stop if you are tried but don’t quit the choices…

Suddenly gaining weight on maintenance calories?
I'm mildly freaking out, I know that weight fluctuates but I weighed the highest I've been in months today. I weighed 129 and I was tracking/averaging 126 last month into the beginning of this month, I know I had 3 days way over my goals but for the last 2 weeks I've been around 1200-1700(averaging 1500) which is what I…

Sticking long term?!

Alcohol --> weight bump (50+)
Maybe it's that I'm a 50+ Holiday weekend, parties with drinks, weight bumps up 2-3lbs. In the next few days (not drinking on weekdays, generally) it comes right back off. Why do I care? Well, now I jog a few days a week, and carrying around those extra few pounds is hard!

Biggest swing yet: 10# in 57 hours. What's yours?
I will admit these are semi-bogus weights. Sunday night after paddling 3 hours I weighed 150.2. I was dehydrated and had a low calorie day to make up for a high calorie day on Saturday. But I had a few weigh ins in the low 150s recently with none above 155 in several days. Yesterday I went way over, like double. I have a…

Recomp
I want to start a recomp after losing about 45lbs. I'm 5'3" and 111lbs. MFP recommends 1520cals to maintain weight but this seems low? I'm quite sedentary but was losing on 1400. I'm also brand new to maintaining and don't know what's the best way for me to recomp? Should I start a solid exercise plan or hire a trainer?…

Am I just replacing muscle with fat?
67 y.o. male, 5'10. I lost 20 pounds last year (first-time dieter) with MFP. BMI now 23. I'm at my target weight of 161. I have never done heavy weights, just resistance and body weight, spinning, walking, swimming. I've maintained my 20-pound loss. And, I'm doing a lot less exercise and no longer counting calories. I'm…

Struggling to eat enough calories
I am 7 weeks postpartum. I’ve been finding myself forgetting to eat enough to get myself through the day. I am happy with my weight and I’ve noticed myself losing more weight plus no energy.. so it’s obvious I’m not getting enough. Please don’t hate when I say, I just forget to eat and/or don’t feel hungry because my mind…

Below range action
Hey all you maintainers, how many days under range until you take action? Do you wait for your trend line to be below range? I'm struggling because in the past I've over shot my goal and used that as an excuse to gain weight back but that would lead to shame eating/ bingeing. I need help with a pragmatic approach. Also…

Yup. Hit Scream Weight.
I knew it was coming, but today was the day. My goal weight is 125 (5-7”f) which I hit last Feb. Late summer creeped up to 135, over winter hit 145. Today, BAM! 150, the weight I said I would never see again. Technically, this doesn’t even belong in this thread, but you are my people. Yes, I know what needs to happen, but…

Switching to Maintenance as a Long Distance Runner (Training for Marathons)
This year I've started the process of going from an Obese Runner to a Healthy Weight runner. In another month or two i'll have dropped 60 pounds bringing me under my upper range of healthy weight. I currently run over 20 miles a week. I've lost the weight with MFP set to sedentary and wearing one of my garmins (vivosmart 4…
