Might be having surgery in the next month or so-- any ideas on how to maintain/keep fit as I recover
I am really, really hoping to be a living liver donor, possibly in the next month or so. So far the testing has gone really well. The woman who needs the liver is a young mom. So I really hope this works (that my liver is compatible). The thing is, I only have one worry-- that I will gain my weight back after surgery. As…

Daily weight variation
Hi, folks. I'm within days of being able to switch from weight loss to weight maintenance (yay!) and have a question. My sense is that my plan will be something like this: 1) eat the appropriate number of calories to maintain my goal weight 2) weigh myself regularly (daily?) 3) if my weight goes too high or too low, adjust…

Running=Happy, Fit=Happy
Even just a couple of miles of light (11min/mi)running aday keeps me much happier and fit. I need to get my motivation up to start light weights again after being laid up with an injury for a while.

Keeping fit for life
I used to have 85 or so more pounds on my frame. But at 6'3 it was "but you're tall though". Quitting drinking is the biggest part of breaking my weight problems. Pair that with being a runner and I stay fairly slender now.

3500 to gain a pound
I understand the concept of eating 3500 calories over causes 1pound weight gain ... but is that 3500 over your maintenance calories or 3500 calories over my deficit calories ? I.e. My Deficit is 1300 but my maintenance is 1600 calories ???

I'm so hungry!
This is just a vent thread... I'm starving!! I'm still doing Strong Curves (plus nursing), and I'm so so hungry. I literally think I could eat 3000 calories a day. Yesterday I had 2000 and this morning I feel like I haven't eaten in a week. Bret says in Strong Curves that you will feel more hungry, but to fight the urge to…

Will eating over maintenance once a week cause weight gain?
I'm 5'4, 115 pounds and I'd consider myself sedentary. I eat 1500 calories per day, but I work out 3-4x a week and average 10 000 steps on my rest days. If I eat 2000 calories once a week, would this lead to weight gain?

Ladies: Junel Birth Control Experiences
I have some questions about the JUNEL Birth Control pill ( I have the 1.5/3.0 for 21 days). I'm worried about the side effects. I would like to know what others are feeling and the way they have changed as a result of taking this pill, such as bloating/retaining water, gaining a lot of extra weight? I can deal with +1-5…

Yesterday I drank 5 glasses diet coke with vodka and 2 shots of whiskey , but then I got really hungry and ended up eating A LOT ! Hopefully it wont show that much on the scale !

Am we sometimes too hard on ourselves about weight?
I will be on maintenance for 3 years in October ... it has been relatively easy for me and I usually stay within the range that I set for myself. However, lately I notice that if I go above the weight that I have chosen to maintain, even if it's still within that range, I immediately eat at a deficit to get myself back…

Soon to start trying to maintain weight
Hi, I am a 33 year old male, 173 cm in length, that has gone from 78kg to 70kg over six or seven weeks. My plan is to go down to 68 or 66 before slowing down and trying to maintain that weight. I have never had much trouble loosing weight but I always fail at maintaining it and usually gain weight back within 6 months. I…

Weekend Calories
I finally hit my maintenance goal on Friday! And then Saturday was my birthday and I went a little crazy over my calorie allotment... I had a tendency to do this while I was dieting and have still lost 40 lbs since January, but I always feel so guilty after eating more on weekends. I don't want to live with this guilt…

Salad toppers
Had organic sunflower craisin salad topper from Costco on baked chicken kebob and fresh salad. Tiny bit of mayo and spoonful of grey poupon mustard in garlicky pepper broccoli green bean salad dressing. Walked 4 miles to the beach and back with a partner. So much easier with support and daily maintenance.

Long term frustration
I have been logging and maintaining for 5 years. I had lost 38 pounds. Around a year ago I did some traveling and gained 5 pounds (I'm 160 now, which is a fine weight for me: BMI 23, I'm 5'10"). But I like it better at 150-155 range. I often would gain 5 pounds after traveling, even though I logged, but it would always…

Recomp- mini cut or hang in there?
I'm having a bit of trouble with some of the weight I've put on since switching from WW to maintenance/recomp... my jeans are tighter, which is frustrating. I'm doing strong curves right now, and it's going well, im only 2 weeks in. I was hoping to finish the 12 week program before possibly dieting a bit if I still need…

Realise this is likely to be different for everyone but...! I'm going on a beach holiday in 16 days (not that I'm counting). I don't want to lose any weight and I'm feeling very happy about my body at the moment for the first time in years and years. HOWEVER. I would like to do whatever I can do look and feel even better…

How long to keep loging food.
People who have reached and maintained their goal weight. How long do you keep login foods in MyFitPal? I would think after some time you get used to what amounts of foods have approx what calories and know what you can eat in a day of your regular day to day foods etc. 3-4 months? More? Never stop logging foods?

Meal Plan for Ectomorph trying to add muscle and lose fat
Hey guys, I'm a 21 year old ectomorph male, currently 5'10 and 148 lbs. I've been working out for a year now and have been fighting severe depression and a eating disorder for over 2 years. I used to restrict my calories and would frequently have binge/purge episodes. I was constantly over working in order to offset these…
