Confession Time! ((ABSOLUTELY NO JUDGEMENT))

Well. Just got back from the doctors. Saw a different doctor this time. He said NO carbs. Not even yogurt, he said if I don't lose weight on this, we have a serious problem. I asked him if it could be anything else and he said "Well, we could faff around putting you on different diets, but it seems you have put a lot of time and effort into this already so I recommend you go straight to the jugular and cut carbs. It will work, it will always work. It's hard, and it will suck, it will really suck, but you will lose fat." So I went to the nearest bakery, bought myself an apple and raspberry danish (at 9 in the morning) and ate it while driving to work. If I can't have carbs for the next 2 months, I'm going to end it with something amazing. and it was.
Ack! Do you have insulin resistance or something? I apologise if you've already answered this by the time I get further forward in posts.
I don't think so, he didn't mention anything like that, apparently it is just a sure-fire way of loosing fat. But people would argue CICO is sure-fire but it hasn't worked all that well for me. Struggling to find breakfast alternatives considering I don't like egg. Pinterest is helping out a lot.0 -

I had my usual breakfast this morning, then I had to sample one of the red velvet poptarts I bought yesterday. I logged it in my snacks so I did account for it. Not bad, they are 190 calories for one. Next time I will have to try it warmed up!!0

No I have a MisFit because it works with swimming. I did have a fitbit but I couldn't get into the habit of charging it so it would die and then I wouldn't wear it for a week.
Just a thought, if someone in England would like my fitbit one I'll be happy to send it free of charge. I would rather it be used than sit in my drawer forever.0 -

Seriously, I GIVE UP!
I had an important appointment today that I thought was at 3pm, turns out it was at 2pm. I am not even sure how that happened because that is very unlike me.
Then, just now, my son texts me, to tell me that HIS NEW BIKE THAT HE JUST BOUGHT LAST FRIDAY JUST GOT STOLEN FROM HIS PLACE OF WORK. Are you kidding me?? Not only is that two bikes in seven days, but he just spent nearly $300 FIVE DAYS AGO, and it is gone! He is a 17 year old kid, that is a lot of money to him.....sadly, it is a lot of money to me too, so I am not even sure how much I can help him out.
And he needs a bike to get to work, it is not like he is riding it for fun. He literally uses it for transportation to and from work! Now, he is gonna have to walk the 35 minute walk again for who knows how long until he gets another bike.
I feel terrible for him, I am truly gutted.
does his workplace have cameras??
did he report it? that's so crappy
He talked to the owner of the restaurant, he is a sous chef at a very high end restaurant in town, and the owner seemed irritated that happened to him. He said there is a camera in the back, but the owner of the building has the access. They share a plaza with a top line clothing store and and fancy bar or something. So he said he would talk to him and get back to my son, but really, even if they see the thief, unless someone knows who took it, what can they do?
I am gonna give him money towards a new bike this time, and also gonna talk to the people at the bike shop and find out what the best lock he can buy is. The boss also told him he could lock in on a gas pole or something that is in clearer view. But it still doesn't make the situation suck any less.
I am still so mad, this kept me up half the night, and I had such a hard time getting out of bed this morning and now have to head to work. I had some other stuff I wanted to chat about yesterday, but this took over my thought and will have to get back to that tonight.....0 -

You have dealt with a lot. It does not matter what your orientation is in so far as what happened was in NO way, shape or form any fault of your own. At All. You are blameless. (HUGE HUGS). I am so sorry that you had the experiences you did.
**WARNING FOR THOSE WHO MIGHT BE TRIGGERED BY VIOLENCE - SKIP THE REST OF THIS POST PLEASE, THE LAST THING I WANT TO DO IS UPSET SOMEONE**
When I was 20 I met an acquaintance through a co-worker. He was a wealthy physician. He invited me to a barbecue. I was in no way attracted to him but I thought he was just being friendly and he was "known" so I said yes. I was drugged (the date rape drug) and have no recollection of what happened, but why would I be drugged if nothing happened?
The same year I was taken by two men in a situation where I thought there was a good chance I'd be killed and I was raped by one. I talked my way out of being raped by the second. I talked the first into a condom. I talked my way into being let go. I was shaken and I (kick myself for this one now) chalked it up to a hard learning experience and I moved on without reporting it and without telling anyone. Until 10 years later someone threatened by then 2 year old daughter. I took care of that situation IMMEDIATELY and have entirely put that person out of my life. I had flashbacks. I had nightmares. I sought counseling and was told I had PTSD. Counseling really helped me enormously. I reframed the incident so that I was strong and did everything I could to protect myself. I worked through the issues and I have not had issues since and that has been a number of years ago. Please seek counseling. Call the hotline number that you see for victims of ___ crimes even if you feel it does not apply to you because they can put you in touch with counselors. HUGE HUGE HUGS.
The first few counselors I saw were batty, find one you can work with. What happened does not define me nor do I think about it often. It is now just a tiny moment in time. You will get there. I believe in you and your bright future.
Oh my goodness. I am so sorry for this experience. I have nothing to say. Hugs.
Hugs to you, but mostly I'm heartened to read how this does not define you. You're one of the posters I look up to as being a particularly strong person, and reading this has made me have even more respect for you. I had my own nasty experience with a man and a lack of consent years ago (nowhere near as awful as what you described, but certainly illegal) and the thing I kicked myself about the most was the fact that I told no-one, even though there was a police van right outside where it happened so the opportunity was immediately there. Partly I didn't think anything could be done since I couldn't have positively IDed the guy, but mostly embarrassment, shame etc. Now I realise I had nothing to be embarrassed about. I am (and was) a confident and capable young woman, yet I didn't feel able/worthy of that policeman's time so I didn't bother him. How ridiculous. It reassures me that someone as clearly awesome at life as you can come from such a place and grow and get better. If this happened now, I know I would react differently. And I definitely wouldn't blame myself!
Probably I didn't report it for similar reasons way back in the day. I'm teaching my children differently.
If you have not been to counseling I strongly recommend it -- it is likely to pop up out of the blue again someday as mine did. HUGS to you. You are awesome.
In all my anger last night I somehow seemed to have missed your OP about this....I just went back and found it in a quote and wanted to express how very sorry I am that this happened to you. It seems like you are a strong, well adjusted person, a lot of people might not have survived a situation like that so well. God bless you!0 -

I haven't been running either, I think that's why I'm in such a funk. Tomorrow is July 1 and I'm in a weight loss challenge with some friends on Facebook. Tomorrow is the day I get back at it, with a clean colon I suppose...
Well I hear you lose a lot of weight with that....
LOL! My 1-day detox plan!
Our official first weigh-in for the challenge is supposed to be on 7/2, but I will be using my WI from BEFORE the colon cleanse.
Ohh if the start is 7/2 then you need to eat all the salty foods. Maximum short term weight gain!
No I am not competitive.
POF you crack me up, but that sounds like something I would do.0 -

We've never seen Frozen...but I love Doc McStuffins! We went through a stage of watching a lot of Doc but have since moved on. I keep begging to watch it again...but nope. It's Paw Patrol, Mickey, and Backyardigans right now...with an occasional Bubble Guppies or Sherriff Callie's Wild West.
We used to be all nick jr like Paw Patrol and Backyardigans, but when we turned cable back on the package we got didn't include it, only Disney jr. Now it's Doc McStuffins and Sofia the First (which I actually happen to like since it includes some of the princesses), with the occasional request to watch the Peppa Pig DVD too lol. Doc is cute, but that song just grates my nerves for some reason lol!
You would hate driving in the car with us then... we have a whole cd of Doc songs!! I actually like it..other than the fact that each song is only like 45 seconds long...so longer car rides are just the same songs playing a million times over and over....
Lol! It'll probably grow on me over time. I have the Frozen soundtrack in my car and at any given point during a car ride, Raelynn will ask for "Let it Go". (I have the Demi Lovato version on spotify just because I like it better lol!)0 -

Country music at every mile marker. Seriously want to do it? I am in! I signed up years ago then didn't go as I didn't want to travel by myself. I have since got over that and travel by myself to races all the time. I was just thinking the other day about signing up again. I haven't raced in TN!

Okay, guys, 4/30/16 is our date! I'll have to think about which country artist I would want to run behind. I love Eric Church, but he's taken. As is Toby Keith. Not sure about Chris Young. I love Gary Allen's voice but he isn't the most handsome man in the world... Hmmm. I'll have to think on it a bit. Start training!
Can an SC girl get in on this too?? I'd gladly run across the country if Brantley Gilbert or Jake Owen were in front of me! Country has some of the hottest singers...yummmm0 -

My mother told me it was against the law to eat crisps on a week day. Crisps were strictly weekends only. If I saw other kids eating crisps at school, I'd be all worried for them getting a criminal record at the age of 6 and never being able to get a job as a result. They did this for Thomas the Tank Engine too - Ringo Starr was the original British voiceover.
My daughter was a first generation Teletubby fan, and I suppose they re-voiced that too, since it was sold all over the world.

Yes, they are very...interesting dogs. I had a beagle for awhile, and he was a very sweet dog. He would howl when I left which didn't really work in an apartment building. He would run out the front door if he could get around you and he could climb chain link fences. I had no choice but to get rid of him for several reasons, but I always felt bad. Saki is probably in doggie heaven by now.0
