It was cold and I wasn't feeling the best, so walked 2 miles on the treadmill at 3.6 mph pace while dinner cooked in the oven.
Good news: After a lot of headaches and the tax program not working, then magically start working, I got my taxes done. And, I get a refund this year which hasn't happened in several years.
Bad news: Since they still think I didn't pay my taxes last year, I'm 99.9% sure they will keep my refund until that is all sorted out.
Good news: The VA Social worker was able to find out the status of my cousin's claim for increased Aid & Attendance that I filed in June of last year.
Bad news: Since I sent it in before he actually became a resident at the assisted living facility, they will not process it. It's just been sitting there and, instead of telling me that the three times I called and asked, they kept saying it was in the development stage. She was very upset that they had not told me that. So, I have to refile.

Been a weird month. Only at 22 miles so going to adjust goal and aim for 45, about half of my original goal.9

After all my whining yesterday I ended up having a wonderful run this morning. It was 33°F, so not really freezing, but close. So I dug out my sleeves and my gloves and my headbad that covers my ears and headed out the door. It was colder than I like, but there was no wind so it was actually pretty pleasant. I was planning to run the same 4 miles as yesterday, but I was enjoying myself so much I just kept on running. I ended up with 6 miles today.

@polskagirl01 - if that pup is a trained herding dog they will follow commands like that. They are really awesome to watch when they are training or actually working a herd. Hobbes would stop, might lie down but would most likely go after the ball. We have a 'stop' command that he knows he needs to stop and stay put until I release him but I have only really gotten him to sit or lie down at distance when we are in our own yard.
It was cool, cloudy and very windy for my run today, essentially perfect running weather other than the constant headwind. My hamstring and piriformis were not happy though after meeting with the evil physio yesterday, so there was some walking but not as much as I thought there might be. I am trying to pick up some extra distance but it looks unlikely I will make my goal this month. In the next few days we may actually get some rain (yay). We need it so much! But then we are back to hot again early next week. I plan to run tomorrow then Friday I have appointments for our neighbor friend so unlikely to get a run in, we'll see how it goes.7 -
6.5 miles this morning. Perfect weather..54F and barely any wind. But didn't feel really comfortable running until well past mile 5. I never understand why it takes so long to get warmed up. Did a few strides at the end of the run and those felt good.

18 mile run this morning along a canal path, average pace 9:29 min per mile. Good to get some mileage in the legs.

Sunny and low 30s this morning. However, even though yesterday's snow melted, we got another 4 inches or so overnight, so we are right back where we started yesterday. It is supposed to get a little warmer today; golf is on the schedule for tomorrow.
When you pop in here claiming your December 2021 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?
PUT THE FUN BACK IN THE RUN!
Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs (second attempt)

You're doing great @sweetdaisy13 !
Cold here, but no snow @Tramboman . Hope you are able to play golf tomorrow.4 -

Today's run kinda sucked. I think I'm feeling a little stressed after that Monday run by feel that went a fair bit faster than it should have, followed by yesterday's stamina run. With another easy effort planned for tomorrow followed by a rest day I should be fine, and in fact might see a nice boost next week as payback. It will be interesting in several weeks (when I hope to start doing two mid-week workouts) to look back at this week and see how I was complaining about it.6 -
@RunsOnEspresso - Life happens. At least you're staying with a reduced goal! That's a win.
@kgirlhart - Glad you enjoyed the cold run this morning more than you expected. Now to look forward to hot runs!
@shanaber - I have a feeling that by the time you escape your evil PT and are able to put more energy back into running that you will be very happy to have invested the time and energy in that PT. Or not. I don't know that PT at all, and they may be pure evil incarnate.
@scott6255 - I guess your legs really needed those strides today from the sound of it! Sounds like a good cap to a bit of a blah run.
Nice runs @sweetdaisy13 and @Tramboman
@pfeiferlindsey - Well, your son most certainly believes you can crank out 85 miles with no problem! Are you sure this isn't just a mental running block on your part?5 -
Very slow, easy 3 miles today. Easing back in!
8 -
@pfeiferlindsey How old is your son? That's adorable. I think 4 miles was a much better choice.
Has anyone heard from @carnavoirerunner? His name didn't pull up. Maybe that 's not exactly correct. But, he used to be on thread a lot and I was just thinking about him today when mom and I were talking about people who only eat one food or type of food. Does anyone know who I am talking about?

It's going to be close on my goal this month. I am working Saturday so I will try to get my run in before I have to get started. Otherwise, it will be too hot and I am terrible at running after work these days. Once I get home, I just want to be at home.4 -

It was 25°F this morning. I had hoped it wasn't below freezing long enough to get the newly emerged leaves, but by this afternoon, it was obvious that a lot of them didn't survive.
Those darker leaves aren't in the shade. They are black.
It was sunny, but still cold when it came time for my run, so I chose the treadmill again today. I was scheduled for a Foundation Run - slow and easy. So, I ran at 4.2/4.5/4.2 mph for 5/10/5 minutes and then, to get to at least 30 minutes, I did walk/run at 3.8/4.3 mph for 1/4/1/5:27. Made the average pace really slow, but my HR stayed down pretty good. AVG was 147.
Yes @Scott6255 ! That is who I am talking about. He hasn't been on here for a while. I hope he's okay.5 -
I can't tell when @T1DCarnivoreRunner last logged in. If anyone is friends with him they could probably tell. It has been a long while though and if I remember correctly he was getting ready to move. For a while he lived somewhere close to @rheddmobile.
Speaking of people I haven't seen here for a while, has anyone heard form @TheMrWobbly? He got us all set up on the run the world challenge and then disappeared!
@quilteryoyo - I hope the trees recover!
@whatmerunning - my evil PT is actually pretty wonderful. She has already helped me so much! She does use this stick of torture though to roll out my hamstrings, calves and hip flexors and then her elbow on my piriformis that really hurts at the time but then feels amazing afterwards. Later the DOMS type soreness sets in and I forget that amazing feeling!2 -
@Scott6255 @quilteryoyo @shanaber Yes, I'm still here, but have not been active in the running group for awhile. I'm still running and I'm still eating carnivore (just plants). Although I do drink no carb caffeinated beverages. I had quit caffeine for a couple months and then got back on it when I moved last month.
Yes, it is correct that I moved. Yes, I used to live near-ish @rheddmobile , but I am now in Texas near San Antonio. I moved here for a new job, and it is extraordinarily busy right now because it is a greenfield production plant - we have a lot to do to get everything going and that includes hiring more people to make sure things get started and then continue to operate.7 -
Glad to see you are okay and still running @T1DCarnivoreRunner ! Sometimes life gets too busy for a lot of screen time after work. I do hope you'll pop in every once in a while to let us know how you are doing.
@shanaber I haven't heard from @TheMrWobbly lately either. Again, I hope everything is okay with him. The trees will be okay, but those dead, black leaves will hang on for months. So, there will be a reminder of this freeze for a while.

Oh hey there @T1DCarnivoreRunner. Good to hear from you!
Welcome to Texas! You're just in time for our glorious summers 🥵3 -
I wrote @TheMrWobbly about a month ago - he was swamped by work and life but otherwise okay.1

Yesterday I was itching to run, but kept it to 1 mile on the treadmill (barefoot!) and did my little routine on the weight machine. I got nominated to do this Strava art challenge, so I planned a route in my neighborhood and did it this morning, for 8.4 km at a very relaxed pace. Actually I walked or stopped at some points to make sure the GPS caught it right. Also paused the watch and went around to another area, then unpaused, just to get a line through an area where I couldn't go (steep embankment, railroad bridge, fenced in houses), and it worked! My quad feels fine now, but lower back hurts and that's where it starts. So I won't push it.Supposed to be the Polish eagle (with a crown, and tongue out) but my husband is making fun of me by saying it has a dog face.I didn't want to do the "force your friends to participate by tagging them" thing, but it could be fun for us to see what kind of designs we can do with our routes. How about a MFP Strava-art Challenge? Use your mapping app, plan a route, run it and post it for us all to see!7

@polskagirl01 that Strava art is very cool! I have always wanted to do that, but I am so not creative enough.4

Same. I can't look at a map & see/imagine anything.3 -
@rheddmobile Glad to know that @TheMrWobbly is doing good. We miss the people we are used to seeing on here when they disappear.
@polskagirl01 I think you did an awesome job on the eagle. Challenge your husband to do better. LOL I don't have a Strava account and, if I did, I would have to find a different route to draw a picture. An out and back on the local roads isn't going to cut it. LOL But, I would love to see what others do.

Today's run went really well considering I was up most of the night with work. I was able to still get enough quality rest, I think. I also hit my monthly mileage goal today! I will see if I can forecast a bit better next month.
@polskagirl01 - That is a nice route you drew. I am not sure if I can make anything or not but may give it a shot.6
