I like Outlook ... I just wish it would allow me to colour code/categorise my folders.

Honestly, the only thing I loved about Macs was the ability to color-code file folders, and then sort them like that - but because Outlook, even when on a Mac, is a Microsoft product, it didn't extend to emails. And, since I'm on web-based Outlook, I can flag now on my PC, but not color code my flags. Color coding is SO much easier. Other than that, kind of hated Macs, they're so idiot-proofed that I can't actually fix things when they go wrong, as they inevitably do. I'm a PC-chickie, and have a Droid phone. I utterly avoid the iProducts, wherever they pop up, honestly, as PCs tend to fit my thinking processes. Or vice versa, I'm never sure.
Got some writing done on my Coffee and Egg blog this morning, another stress-coping tool when I don't want to turn to food. Trying to gird my loins for the next marathon work trip, which begins Sunday. Optimistic news, well gossip, really, on a replacement for my fellow manager and counterpart, who I miss dearly. The CEO's executive assistant applied for the job, and when I found out she had, and knowing her strengths, I suggested to the soon-departing CEO over e-mail that she be hired as a fund development event manager. Grants I can deal with, but events are not my bag. Honestly, I'm good at them, I understand how to make them successful, but in no way enjoy the process - and she would be dynamite at it. Not holding my breath, but lordie, that would make my job easier.
Lots to do...
Love y'all,

I'm a PC person too, and have never got into the iProducts.
I colour code my calendar items (Categories), and my individual emails, but I don't understand why I can't do that to folders.
I also wish I could prioritise my folders based on urgency. I drop things into Tasks or the Calendar, but it would be nice to be able to do that right in the Mail section.
However, I'm not the one designing Outlook.

Karen - Never found one to fill the gap, but my husband has quickly perused the emailed docs and it looks like they want to sell us the SMEG fridge freezer that is currently there. Haven't looked at their price yet. It doesn't anywhere near fill the gap, but it would give me room for the roll out shelves that I researched . We are not charging for our huge fridge and freezer we are leaving, but they are nearly eight years old.
Emptied one box this morning, but I'm having trouble getting rid of my notebooks of all the wonderful workshops I went to with real top artists/writers/performers. One or two were really life changing. I might have to keep them.

kylie I am a big fan of using a notebook to keep track of habits I am building on. In July I picked three things I wanted to develop, they were all manageable, if I hit the goal that day I colored in a block—very motivating for me. This month I’ve kept 2 habits from July and added one new one. Good luck!
Being an introvert, a surprise party and gag gifts would be so uncomfortable it would be painful. Thanks goodness I’ve never been on the receiving end

Hi Everyone,
I'm fighting my own resistance to keeping up my walking habit. Its harder in this heat, so I have been walking inside. Sitting too much today, must get up and get moving.
This thread is so positive and motivating, it makes it easier to give up all the feeble excuses !
Thanks to you all4 -
Machka - Happy Birthday to your husband! It's fantastic to hear about his accomplishments.
Heather - glad that you are getting closer to closing on your new home.
Kim- I hope you have a very Happy Birthday tomorrow! I think it's fantastic that you have people in your life that celebrate you! Having it your way on your day would be fantastic!
After exercise this morning I will be going shopping with my sister, niece, great nephews, and sister in law. They will be coming into my town which has all sorts of gift shops and places to eat. Then tomorrow we hit the monthly flea market. This is an annual event for the last 9 years. I love living in a tourist area where there is always something fun going on. I'm glad that I am physically active enough to be able to enjoy the great food and drink I'll be having the next couple of days!
Have a great day everyone!

I walk "inside" in the heat all the time. I use Leslie Sansone Walking videos on You Tube. I also set my tablet on the bar height area of the kitchen counter and read and "step" throughout the day to get my steps in.

Hey ladies! Happy Tuesday! Nursing a headache this morning. Not sure why I have one. Maybe due to the air pressure? It has been a rainy couple of days (we need it, badly). Anyway, it is making my brain extra fuzzy this morning. I will have to run out a little before 7am so I can cast my vote in the primaries. Maybe hubby will come with me to negate my vote...
Pip-Cute pup pics! Is that Floyd with the Rubber chicken?! And I love the pic of Yogi, smiling! Such a happy boy!
Heather-So excited and frustrated for you as your move gets closer to happening!
BArbie-I hope the past few days of meds and rest will give your doc an idea of the next step on the road to recovery for you!
Kim- Ooops! I missed your birthday?! So sorry but sending you the best wishes for another wonderful year!
Penny- So happy to hear from you! Glad to hear you are running again! Thought of you the other day when one of my three year olds showed up with a Map of the World T-shirt and it showed "the Svalbard Islands" Waaaaaay up by the neck of the shirt! lol
Allie- So sorry to hear about your job stresses! Take care! Sending hugs!
Dana- You look fantastic! So happy! You are just glowing!

I have a lot of things I’m still struggling with relating to my job transition, but my morning ritual is set and so very satisfying.
I generally stir at 6:30 A.m. when my husband rises and makes coffee. A morning kiss and I’m generally back in bed for an additional sleep. When I do awaken for the day, Kidd Kirby has cuddled up to me in the meantime and when I stretch he gets up on my chest and starts begging:
‘I will purr for grooming’ he says.Obviously, I always acquiesce. Lol
So very pleasant but so difficult to get going and actually start my day!
I am very careful to spread the attention and grooming out equally to the three cats we have. Except Kidd and my special morning routine - that is for me.

Hi, I'm new to this thread. Age 51 with 20-30 stubborn pounds to lose. Goal for July was to get to workout studio at least 4x/week - did that - yeah! No weight loss, though.
Goals for August are 1) keep working out at least 4x/week and adding 2) log all calories every day starting today.3 -

Hi Cathy and welcome to the group. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you’d like to be called. Because there is so many of us in this group tell us the general area you are from.

Oh my! I am exhausted, both physically and emotionally.
Today I tackled the dreaded area under the desk in my study, which I had just put stuff in when we moved into the house that I couldn't bear to sort out. I added to it over the years that we've been here.
Couldn't put it off any longer.
Today I threw away a big bag of naughty knickers, most dating back to my first marriage. I kept one.
Kept a couple of my risqué bikini bottoms, just so I could remember what a hot chick I once was. Didn't wear tops.
Threw away loads of cards and postcards from lovers, friends and ex husband. Kept the best few of each. Plus some Mother's Day cards from my teenage son's where they happily insulted me.
Checked through old teaching plans, photocopies, my workshop adverts, etc. Kept a couple of the best, most are in the bin.
Found my grandfather's old certificates from 1907. Evening classes. He left school at 14. Kept those. His shorthand certs.
Found an old dressing table set my grandmother had. I loved it when I was a child. Beautiful hand painted poppies. I used to use the candlestick every Christmas. Might keep the big plate and candlestick and take the rest to the charity shop.
Very weird reading through the proclamations of love and devotion on cards from my ex. Strangely we did love each other, we just were not good for each other. A curdled relationship.
So I am knackered and have two big bin bags for the trash.

Oh yes, its good, but I don't like him riding home after working on jets for 10 hours. Plus he's riding home at 2/3 am. In a camouflage uniform! Granted he has some lights on, but I still worry!

Hello from Memphis! I'm new to this board, but thought I would jump in with my August goals (even though it's already the 7th).
Stay on keto
Bring lunch to work 2x/week (I work from home two days, so that's one day I'm allowing myself to eat something else)
Swim minimum of 4x/week
See downward movement, not upward movement on the scale!
I have a word for this month too - tenacity
I'm looking forward to participating here. Thank you all!3 -
Got my driver's license renewed today...will be good until I'm 78! LOL6

Cheri neat tracker, I'm gonna use it!
funny Pachelbel Canon video, my middleschool students would crack up at this!!
I made the most delicious pesto sauce with basil from the back yard, I add spinach to it to make it even greener. Now it is not low cal, but it screams end of summer to me and I put it in tablespoon batches in the freezer for the entire year.
My garden is starting to take off, cherry tomatoes, jalapenos, cucumbers and tiny eggplants, a wonderful young neighbor is going to make sure it is watered for us while we're gone and I told her to harvest anything that looks ripe to enjoy. Hopefully I will have acorn squash ready in October.

I have been following on Facebook a gal named Sarah S. ( I posted a thread she wrote). Anyway, she did a live podcast yesterday. I get a kick out of chatting with her ( well I was texting, she was chatting)!
So she talked about 2%. That like a golfer just a 2% difference in angle can change your whole swing, your whole angle of where your ball goes. Just like golf, you can apply this mindset to making changes in your own life. It doesn't have to be a drastic thing, just one positive step towards your goal. So what does your 2% look like? Mine is portion control. Out is my scale,my measuring cups and spoons!

Katla thanks for reposting "So many of us believe in perfection, which ruins everything else, because the perfect is not only the enemy of the good; it's also the enemy of the realistic, the possible and the fun." Not perfectly making any of my goals any one day, but v pleased at making some every day. Safe travels and successful outcomes!
Lisa [shudder] Eeuuwww!
Lanette, Rosemary & Thyme was one of my faves. Wish it hadn't ended so suddenly.
pip Floyd's "MY rubber chicken!" ROTFL
Barbie gentle ((hugs)) and healing intentions.
Machka A VERY happy birthday to your DH, and many happy returns. "paper bag to hyperventilate into" I might have used it like a sick sack. ;} "no memory after (your birthday)" until when? Hoping its a gap that will gradually fill and not a permanent loss of short term. Continued healing and strength your way.
Penny Thanks! "before there were roads" = recent history. It's startling to me, a 4th generation citygal, but I went to church with a gal who rode a horse miles to the schoolhouse when her family lived on a ranch. Don't know what they did for schooling when her father was a forester deep in the woods.
KJ Pachelbel's chicken 'bout made my brain explode The "player" looks so very serious!
Lisa fingers Xd for your suggestion, hope your CEO accomplishes it before leaving. I struggle daily with my iphone, but honestly with all touch screens. Just give me a keyboard and a DOS prompt, please?
Heather, I ordered some rollout shelves to fit a gap between cabinets and pedestal table, they serve the purpose but are cheap plastic and the top rank tends to separate from the bottom rank when I roll them out. They'll do until the one-fine-day-great-kitchen-remodel. Is your DH handy? Saw some wonderful plans/youtubes/pinterest ideas for DIY made using plywood, casters, etc. that looked both more substantial and customizeable to the available space.
Cheri it isn't hot here on the Oregon coast, but alas all accommodations are booked up with refugees fromt the smoke and heat inland. Nearest for one family was Eugene, 5 hrs away. One of the visitor center gals even took some folks home with her. My "steps" spreadsheet looks v. much like your Daily goal tracker. Rye "I always acquiesce" How could you not?
Rebecca you are so right about portion control and weighing food. Think my two percent should be using the (Margaret's?) 5 minute rule to really start prepping for houseguests, they'll be here in two weeks! Yikes!
Welcome Cathybock! Bet your measurements changed over the past month, for the good!
Welcome Gwynhyffar from Memphis, enjoy your swims!
Time to get down on the floor, meditate, exercise, break fast and get GOING. Today I will spend 5 minutes on the piles of "stuff" in the office.
Lighter, lovelies!
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD.
60 g protein 4/6, meditate 5/6, walk one more step 2/6, knee exercises 5/6, core 4/4, walk Tumble 2/4 times, SWSY 0/4, hang up or purge art 0/1

Hi, and thank you for the welcome. I'm Cathy, 51, and I live in Michigan (Detroit area). I work full time as a cancer researcher (epidemiologist) at a university, and have two teenage girls. One is going into 8th grade, and the other is heading into her senior year of high school. I've been divorced for over 10 years. For health and weight loss, I recently joined a studio that offers 45 minute group sessions, and have been making it to HIIT and cycle strength classes 4x/week at 5:45 am. This time works well for me, as I am not awake enough to come up with reasons to not go, and I'm not hungry yet. I get my workout in before I know what hit me, and am home in time to make sure my kids get to summer activities/school on time. I get a box of veggies from a local farm (CSA) on Saturdays, which offers an interesting challenge in figuring out to do with each week's selection, and have been getting started with using an instant pot. I enjoy biking, reading, and occasionally puttering around in my flower garden. What else... I am a vegetarian and have two cats and a goofy, sweet dog. I struggle with evening eating and stress in general. It often feels like I am just going from one crisis to the next, and it can be difficult to find time abd energy to meal plan and cook. I'd like to get healthy and lose weight in the process. I should lose close to 20 lb to get to a healthy BMI, and would like to lose closer to 30. I'm hoping for inspiration and support here from other "over 50's".
Thank you!
