Newbie Weight Lifter at Age 49
In October 2023 I went to the Dr. for my annual biometric exam. Basically, I was/am overweight, I had high glucose with possible insulin resistance and high bad cholesterol. I was given a list of to-dos by my Dr. who scheduled more blood work for 6 months later. I decided I would start eating right and exercising. Full…

Deltoid exercises (if you can't lift up your arms and are weak)
So yeah. My deltoid is shot due to having fractured my proximal humerus. I'm allowed to do everything as long as it doesn't hurt. Obviously I still have physio, but we're currently trying to figure out what causes problems and what doesn't. Bone is stable. But I can't lift up my arm 180 degrees non-passively due to having…

MFP is duplicating my daily exercise over and over on my diary (android) MFP app
I got a new Note 10 and downloaded the MFP and Samsung Health apps to the new phone. They were playing nice on my LG V60 and now MFP is taking in 152 calorie exercise duplicating the exercise individually to where I'm up to over 1k calories on my diary. I delete the extras out and they just come back. I've uninstalled both…

Mph or kph
I’ve got a Roger Black treadmill and I can’t find the instructions. I walked uphill (8%) for 20 mins (briskly) and it said distance= 1. Would that be a mile? Also, the calories say 23.3 is that 233 cals? I know that you have to factor in weight/ height of person exercising but I’m after a rough guide. Thanks

Fitness tracker/ watch under $50?
Hello! I'm looking for a fitness tracking watch. I've seen many on amazon or walmart etc for $35 or similar with pretty good reviews. I don't need a fancy one because I don't really care about using my watch as a phone or anything like that, thought they claim to be able to. I just care about basics, steps, heart rate,…

Home Gym Equipment Recommendation
Hi Community: I'm looking to buy a power rack for my new basement exercise area. But in browsing Amazon, the selection is kind of bewildering. And the reviews tend to be all over the place, even more so than with typical products. Here's what I'm looking for: * A pretty basic power rack * An included bench if that makes $$…

NEAT Thread?
Good morning all! There's a great thread somewhere where everyone posts their NEAT tips. It's 100's of pages long and I thought I'd bookmarked it but apparently not. :( I've tried searching but only finding inactive threads at the moment. If anyone has it handy I'd be most appreciative. :-) Thanks! And have a great day!! I…

Calorie deficit and exercising
Hi , I’ve been logging my food for about 4 weeks now. My question is . Do I need to increase my food if I’m exercising ? I work out 5 days a week and I’m having around 1200 calories . I don’t log my workouts . I have lost 5 pounds but had no loss last week. I’m wondering if that means I need to up my calories so my body…

Moderate+ cardio on a fast day?
I've never fasted before, but decided to give it a go today after learning more about it. I'm trying to do a 24-hour fast where I don't eat anything, and I only drink water and tea. The issue is, I also want to work out at the gym today. I usually walk 2 miles on the treadmill, and my heart rate is 155+ most of the time. I…

Les Mills Classes
Hi. I have been doing Les Mills classes for the last 15 years. The ones I take most often are body pump and body combat. They are very popular classes that are offered worldwide and are especially popular where I live in California. However, there is no option for either of those in the fitness tracking. I really don’t…

A Little Fitness Progress
I admit it, I've gotten much weaker with the passage of time and the past few months have made a concerted effort to start reversing some of my age related lean muscle mass loss. In addition to the general improvements in strength one of my goals is to be able to do proper pull-ups again. Long story short at 67 I started…

Different pedometers
Hi all! I typically try to wear my Amazon Halo when I am at work. That brand just never seems to be on list of devices that are supported. Is there a way that I can just manually type in my total steps for the day? I really can't keep my phone physically on me while I'm working.

Started 75 Hard this week!
I just started 75 Hard yesterday. Yes, I know it's "extreme" but I needed it more for mental strength than anything. I have had a very difficult time being consistent with diet and exercise for a few years now and my weight skyrocketed. This is a way I know I can hold myself accountable and rebuild those habits of…
