Question...
As I read some posts, it seems a lot of you work out a lot! Like some 5 days a week, and other at least 3, but for 1-2 hours at a time?? Should I be doing this as well? I try to go for an hour walk 3 times a week... Is that not enough? I live in a small village in the middle of no where which has no gym, no aerobics or…

Nice little article you may like to read
I love webmd. Not only do they have lots of great articles, but they are reviewed by real medical doctors so you know there won't be any whacky fringe topics posted. And no, I don't work for them in any way. http://www.webmd.com/diet/tc/healthy-weight-what-affects-your-weight

Hi there, I am really getting bored with my exercise program. Same old cardio, usually on the treadmill, and the same old strength training exercises. Do you follow a certain program that is giving you great results? When I say program I mean one from a popular trainer such Jorge Cruise etc... I even signed up for the…

effective short at home workout!!
Before you do the following, make sure your body is warmed up, you will need to get blood moving through the veins and arteries in your body. To warm up you can jog on the spot, do steps ups with one step, or skip on the spot. Each should be done for about 2-3 minutes, then you could stretch or just start into the…

EASTER Fitness Challenge Check-In February 24
Howdy! Had a great workout yesterday: 1 hour bike ride with husband, 30 minutes of weights, 10 minutes on elliptical, and 10 minute stretch. More beautiful weather here. Part of my great workout was that I saw the beginnings of a deltoid. I've always admired deltoids and wanted one (or preferably two) of my very own. There…

During winter break I realized that track season is coming up soon and I had put on some pounds from cafeteria food and late night pizza during my first semester, so I tried using this website to watch what I ate and realize when I am going…

EASTER Fitness Challenge Check-In February 23
Ahh, the weekend. We eat more so we need to exercise more - at least that's true of me. I learned last night that all the good fitness book themes are taken. I was at our used book store and saw, "Punk Rock Aerobics". Not kidding. I flipped through it. It was really, really, bad. People dressed up in torn clothes doing…

Heart Rate Monitor Watches
Hi All! I am interested in purchasing a Heart Rate Montior watch, preferably under $75, but I'm not sure which one to get. I have pretty small wrists (6 in around) so I want one that won't be too bulky. As far as chest straps go, I guess I wouldn't mind one that is pretty comfortable, only because I have read that the…

Bragging Time!
Hi everyone. I was reading Songbyrdsweet's post the other day encouraging everyone to share their workout and calories burned for the day. I LOVED that post! Everyone was so excited about it and proud of themselves. I haven't posted anything in a long time, but I'm still here. I'm still logging all of my food and exercise…

Flabby Belly
So, I'm sure this subject has already been addressed but being new I am going to ask this question anyway. I want to tone my stomach, and I need to know the best excercises to do this? I go to the gym so anything is available to me if needed. I just want to tone my stomach so that it doesnt look like I've just had two…

Treadmills
So I was just thinking that I might get a treadmill for days that I'd rather stay inside (watching TV) rather than walk outside. I'm thinking very simple, manual - nothing fancy at all. Does anyone have one that they've had luck with and could recommend?

how many calories burned?
I work in retail and im sure I burn calories climbing up ladders and walking around putting clothes away and folding them. I was wondering how I could find out how many calories I burn for about 5 hours of work. Thanks

Can you put your stamp of approval on this?
Ok, let me get this correct for the last, last time. If I continue to reach my caloric score every day I will lose a pound per week (or what have you)? Now, if I workout ... I get extra calories to eat (to conpensate the burning of them)??? Why, does it not work like this .... I eat my caloric score precisely & help burn…

Being Picky
Questions: 1. When calculating time worked during a video do you: A. count the entire running time of the video - say aerobics 45 mins B. count only the active part of video for aerobics 35 mins, and 10 mins stretch 2. When doing weights, how should you feel when you are finished? I feel like I can't pick up my gym bag…

Personal Training
So, I have oppurtunity to get a personal trainer for about $45 a session. But, I would have to drive 1/2 an hour away (into Maryland!) to get to him. Is it worth it? I have never had a personal trainer before, but I really need to step up my workouts... Has anyone had great success with a P/T??

I LOVE yoga!!
I have been going three times a week on top of my regular work out routines and I just have to say that I LOVE IT! I work muscles that have not seen the light of day in years and while I don't like pain there is something to be said for a sore muscle due to a good work out! The girl who leads yoga at my gym does a great…

Try This, IT WORKS
I have just purchased a large 65 inch stability ball to sit on while I'm at work instead of my chair. I sat on it all day yesterday, and today when I woke up, I could feel it in my butt and my legs. I never thought that what you sit on makes that big of a difference. At first it was wired, but I already love it. It also…

Have you ever just impressed yourself with what you have just accomplished that you tear up? 1-Minute Metabolism Booster
The easiest 350 calories you'll ever burn: Exercise is obviously important, but regular daily activity known as "NEAT" (nonexercise activity thermogenesis) is equally essential for a healthy metabolism. Small movements such as stretching your legs, taking the stairs, even just standing to talk on the phone can add up to an…
