Lost and Maintaining
I started using MFP during the last part of my Insanity workout. It was THE key to Losing and now Maintaining my goal weight. I have lost over 40lbs! By following the MFP app nutrition counter and staying within my calorie goal, I had lost an additional 10lbs from my goal weight. I have not done any more serious exercising…

after gaining back 3 pounds after reaching my goal
I had went on a vacation and gained 3 of the 56 I lost back. I was very upset and kept trying to get it back off with a no luck. Then I went exercise crazy for a week and they all came off. But as soon as I went back to the maintenance calories each day they came right back on! I don't understand why and I'm feeling so…

this journey has been great....not just the weight loss and improved health....but the byproduct of finding yourself, remembering your passions and finding new dreams along the way :) It's truly a change that's more than just physical! I've lost 58 and I'm down to the last 6 pounds until I hit my original goal weight. I'm…

Those last 15 pounds..
I started my weight loss journey in May. Since May, I have lost 36 pound (I'm 5"7', starting weight 186 pound, currently 150 pounds). I was curious for anyone who has achieved their goal weight, how difficult was it to loose those last 15 pounds? And how long did it take you to achieve those last few pounds?

Recommend a good HRM?
I'm 8 lbs from my goal weight and the idea of maintaining seems daunting, especially with the holidays right around the corner. While I haven't had any issue losing weight, I wanted a more accurate idea of just how much I am burning and my requirements to sustain my goal weight. Would you recommend a HRM or just guess…

Hey Everyone, Well I'm 4 lbs away from my goals weight and 11 weeks away from my goal date and also 11 weeks away from my first full marathon. So I have a couple factors going on here... What should I expect when I move to maintenence?
Hi everyone! I have been on my weightloss journey for approximately 5 months now and am finally at a place where I really like how my body looks. I have been moving my calories up slowly as I got closer to goal weight and have also lost a little extra to make up for the return of my glycogen stores. But now my question is…

Happy maintaining
Hiya, I was just wondering if anyone else out there is experiencing the same. I've been maintaining my weight now for about 4-5 months, I'm still 4-6lbs from my goal weight, but no matter what I do those scales just won't budge. I'm now back at the weight I always was in my twenties, do you think I've found a weight my…

Hello everyone
I'm new to this website and first want to say it is such a great website. Last November I started to loose weight. I was probably around 265 now down to 152. I'm a male in my 20s. I still feel like I look fat. I think it's because I lost the weight quickly. I went to a nutritionist and I'm at the right weight for my…

How did you decide on your maintenance weight?
I've lost 24 pounds and reached my first goal of "normal" BMI a few pounds ago. Although I'm thrilled with this loss, I'd still like to lose more weight mainly because my stomach is still so flabby. That's where all my weight goes, plus I had a baby...6 years ago  I'm not sure what my ideal weight would be, but I…

Cals moving to maintenance
Hi everyone, I've hit my goal (25lb lost in 6 months) and am ready to start maintenance... My question is do you a) sudden jump - decide one day to eat mainenance? or b) add in 100-200 cals every day or two over a week or two until you get there? I hear that its likely going into maint will mean an up to 5lb increase as…

Maintaining, on an upward trend that needs to STOP!
Ok a tad of background, I was slightly overweight, never too bad. Then I found a fantastic groove in my healthy eating that became easy for me to maintain everyday and lead to TOO MUCH weight loss. I got way underweight and it caused some pretty serious health concerns. I'm now at a "healthy" weight (hormones still out of…

Off diet for months and I'm the exact same weight
So for the past few months I've barely exercised, predominately due to physical problems and depression knocking the willpower out of me, and I've eaten pretty much whatever, straying away from my usual 'diet' food and allowing myself just about anything. I didn't overdo it too often but I let myself eat take-aways and…

Maintenace mode proactively lose pre-holiday?
Anyone else in maintenance considering proactively losing a few pounds before the holidays to prevent needing to lose a few afterward? Last year during the holidays, I was still trying to get into my maintenance groove and was actually 3-4 pounds below my target weight, so I actually needed to gain a few pounds. It was a…

Less fat causes?
Male office workers in particular, face the risk of obesity . Long sedentary office , due to work stress and lack of exercise ; or because of depression from food or alcohol for comfort , these are white-collar men lost on campus that shapely figure causes. And your weight and your pressure will form a vicious circle :…

Body fat percentage/Maintaining weight
I want to go from 28% body fat to 15%. According to my calculation I have 35 pounds of body fat as of today and would need to only have 19 pounds of body fat to reach my goal of 15%. So I'm assuming I have to loose an additional 16 pounds of fat but gain 16 pounds of muscle so that I can reach my goal with the same weight?…

I'm about three weeks new to My Fitness Pal and have a couple of questions. When I look at Nutrition is gives me a breakdown and my Goal for each one --- I'm assuming I should not exceed the daily goal -- for example: Protein is 15% I should stay under 15% --- does that seem low ? Also, I work out and it's pretty time…

There are so many weight loss tips out there. But what about maintanance? I need you to add to these tips. Anyone? 1. Lifting is huge as it tones muscles and enables us to eat more if I want. 2. Keep on counting calories to not to let the weight sneakily get out of control on me. 3. ???

In Search of Maintenance Fitness Pals

Letting go of goals and being happy and healthy
Anyone else feel this way? I gained about 10 in the first two years of college by eating in the dining hall and restaurants and fast food and not exercising. I have managed to lose about 10 lbs since I started on MFP in June. I'm 113-115 at 5'4" so I'm happy with the number. I tend to get obsessive when I have specific…
