Maintaining, on an upward trend that needs to STOP!
Ok a tad of background, I was slightly overweight, never too bad. Then I found a fantastic groove in my healthy eating that became easy for me to maintain everyday and lead to TOO MUCH weight loss. I got way underweight and it caused some pretty serious health concerns. I'm now at a "healthy" weight (hormones still out of…

Off diet for months and I'm the exact same weight
So for the past few months I've barely exercised, predominately due to physical problems and depression knocking the willpower out of me, and I've eaten pretty much whatever, straying away from my usual 'diet' food and allowing myself just about anything. I didn't overdo it too often but I let myself eat take-aways and…

Anyone else in maintenance considering proactively losing a few pounds before the holidays to prevent needing to lose a few afterward? I want to go from 28% body fat to 15%. According to my calculation I have 35 pounds of body fat as of today and would need to only have 19 pounds of body fat to reach my goal of 15%. So I'm assuming I have to loose an additional 16 pounds of fat but gain 16 pounds of muscle so that I can reach my goal with the same weight?…

When I look at Nutrition is gives me a breakdown and my Goal for each one --- I'm assuming I should not exceed the daily goal -- for example: Protein is 15% I should stay under 15% --- does that seem low ? Also, I work out and it's pretty time…

Maintainance tips
There are so many weight loss tips out there. But what about maintanance? I need you to add to these tips. Anyone? 1. Lifting is huge as it tones muscles and enables us to eat more if I want. 2. Keep on counting calories to not to let the weight sneakily get out of control on me. 3. ???

In Search of Maintenance Fitness Pals

I won't be weighing myself at all, but none of my goals are weight-based - mostly just feeling better in my clothes.. and out of them too…

Letting go of goals and being happy and healthy
Anyone else feel this way? I gained about 10 in the first two years of college by eating in the dining hall and restaurants and fast food and not exercising. I have managed to lose about 10 lbs since I started on MFP in June. I'm 113-115 at 5'4" so I'm happy with the number. I tend to get obsessive when I have specific…

Eating too much and hungry all the time
Hi, I sort of reached my first goal in spring. I went from 151 to about 127 ( +/- 2lbs) in a matter of 4 months. Ever since I am "maintaining". But I am struggling with gilt. I leave my diary set up at about 1250 calories a day, only to go over by about at least 700 cals every day! That is about 2000 cals NET every day,…

Losing Weight to Maintain Weight

Which maintenance calories to eat?
I am currently moving to finding my maintenance calories intake but I have gained 1kg since then, so I am not sure if I should add on my calories intake to the weight before I gain the 1kg or after gaining the 1kg. I am also kind of worried that I may continue gaining weight. Should I stop increasing my calories intake??

Can your metabolism increase after losing weight?
I just turned 19 a few days ago so I guess you could say I'm still kind of young. I was a tiny child and became overweight around the 11-13 age mark. I lost it all and then some when I was 14. I was back and forth from then on but I never got anywhere near as big as I was when I first gained weight. The most I gained was…

Understanding maintenance
So when you first start losing weight, its like your bmr is 1800 and its easy to make a deficit, but the more you lose the lower that number becomes, meaning what? How do you live by lowering your calories? Also I am like 175 and if I ate 2000 calories a day I would gain weight. So its odd to see people maintain at like…

regaining some weight!
so, I had lost about 45 pounds between December 2010 and August 2012. I went from a size 13 to a size 4, and went from 191 pounds to about 143. I'm 5'9''. I was super proud of myself. I don't know what went wrong. A year and a bit down the line, and I'm now 165 pounds. I feel like an absolute failure. I feel like I did…
