Overstated Calorie Count
Don't use any of the Map My apps if you want to accurately count calories. They typically count about 50% for than other apps e.g. with a Map My app you will burn about 300 calories during a 2 mile walk. Most other apps and exercise fitness experts will show about 200 calories burned during a 2 mile walk.

Percent body fat for women
My diet is being supervised by my physician. I've been very successful so far and have reach a healthy BMI, and surpassed the weight goals I had set for myself. I'm 5'4" and currently weigh 144. My doctor uses a special medical equipment thing (like a bod pod, but different) to measure my percent body fat, lean muscle, and…

Weight stays consistent but do not eat enough
I’ve got this app to help me eat more. I’ve been eating 1-2 meals a day after being consistent 47kg (eating constantly throughout the day) and being quite ill where I lost 10kg and formed habits of not eating because of that. I am currently back at my former weight of 47kg but eating way less (between 400-800 calories a…

Why does my stomach look like this?
I posted awhile back about my stomach pooching out and was advised to lift and gain weight and that it was possibly a muscle mass issue. So I gained 7lb, lost a couple and now sit at 115lb at 5'3". But my stomach looks worse than it did before. Yet it seems no matter what weight I'm at it still pooches out. I've been as…

First try at maintance wasn’t so great
After being in a deficit since about April I decided to take a diet break and try out maintance. I calculated activity level based on steps not including purposeful excercise, aimed for what MFP calculated as maintance, and did eat back exercise calories. I ate out a lot because a friend was visiting but calculated the…

Hungry Every Day
I suspect I'm on the low end of calorie burning in general. I declared myself at maintenance 3 pounds over my goal weight because for six months I wasn't able to get any lower. I stopped logging for a bit and sure enough my weight crept up about 4 pounds. I'm currently at 1460 for calorie allowance - that is what keeps me…

Goal: Sugar
I have been religiously following my diary and counting. Here I find out that the goals set for me in SUGAR were at 45, when the standard should be 25g. To my amazement once I adjusted the goal to 25g , I began to lose weight. Perhaps this info might help the community at large.

Having Drinks
Does anyone recommend low calorie drinks for a night out? When I’m working really hard to lose weight I don’t like to have any alcoholic beverages but once in a while it’s ok. I just don’t know what to have. I love beer but that’s out of the question at least for right now.

That look
I've been maintaining for a while but today while out for a walk, I got "the look." I was talking with another women who had been biking and stopped for a water break. We were talking about the surrounding trails and she mentioned that she was just getting back into biking and how difficult it was to get back into shape.…

Plateaued for Over a Month
I started out with my 1820 calorie a day, four hikes a week (30 to 60 minutes/hike, forest trails, short but steep hills) plan back in May. The first month I lost ten pounds...right on schedule. Since mid-June, I've lost another....zero pounds. I track my nutrition daily and my net calories for the week is always negative.…

Vacation weight gain! How long to lose?
Hi I'm planning on going on holiday to an all inclusive resort and I do not plan on holding back. I want to eat breakfast (which I never eat) and desert and ice cream and snack. I bet I put on at least 2lb of actual fat coz I can see myself having 1000 extra a day. If I go back to normal how long will it take to lose it…

What to do cardio-wise after losing weight?
I reached my goal weight. I was doing 1 hour -1.5 at the gym whilst losing weight. Now I’m done, but this seems like a lot as it’s beginning to strain my joints day-to-day. I know some will recommend strength training but I have little interest in building muscle and wish to just stay as I am. How much cardio is OKAY? And…

Met my goal on Weight Watchers - Now What?
I have been on Weight Watchers for nearly a year. I had also done Weight Watchers a couple of times before that. It always worked for me, but in the past I never kept it off. This last time, I only had about 15-20 pounds to lose. I did it, but it took me six months to meet my goal of 145 pounds. I have now stayed between…

How many calories do you need to stay lean?
Hi! I’m 5’1 and I currently weigh 110 pounds. I strength train 5 days a week for about 50 minutes, and I usually do one 45 minutes session of cardio on Saturday and then Sunday is my off day. I have struggled to determine how many calories I should be taking in each day. My current goal is to build lean muscle but I need…

Trigger warning: ED vent
My rules are making me crazy. I have to weigh less than 120lbs. I have to get 25K+ steps a day. I have to eat 100g of protein per day. I have to be up at 3:30am to squeeze in my strength workouts. I have to be able to eat as much as larger people (because enough isn't really enough, and it's just not fair they get to eat…

Cushing's Disease

Maintaining and support
Hi everyone! I started this journey about 1 1/2 years ago and have went from 330 to 145. I am 5’8 so I don’t really want to lose anymore. I started with a group of girls who all had a significant amount of weight to lose but the group didn’t last and I kept going by myself. My wish is to find others who have lost weight…

5 days deficit + 2 days surplus = maintenance
I am happy with where I am body composition wise. According to my handheld device, I am around 11% bf at 173 pounds. I went from 200-173 in about 5 months. I only had to make slight adjustments to my macros/cardio along the way but ended up at 180p, 200c and 50f (1970 calories each day) with 2,000 calories worth of cardio…

Maintaining on Antipsychotics
Is anyone else out there taking antidepressants or antipsychotics and losing/maintaining? I just started taking some, and I am well aware there could be little to a lot of weight gain, so I'll be monitoring my weight as I wish to maintain or at least be at a reasonable weight without it spiraling out of control. I asked my…
