4 Weeks Vacation
Hey, So I am going on a big vacation over the next month out of the country. I've been maintaining for 4 years now and am getting more and more of a handle on things. But I've never been on this big of a hiatus from the gym. I will hope to exercise as much as possible. But I'm afraid this next month will cause me to…

Newbie To Maintenance
Hi Everyone. This is my first time posting here on the maintenance board. I started my journey in mid August of this last year at 204lbs. I am 5'3" and 47 years old. I originally just wanted to get to 150 and be done but then I kept going to 140...then 130 and made it down to 120. I had this intense "need" to be at what…

A question on MFP and Fitbit working together
Hi all, I am confused about how these 2 work together. So a few days ago I got a Fitbit Charge 2 and have linked it to MFP. I now get a fitbit calorie adjustment - which I understand is based on my activity levels and I no longer log exercise in MFP. Here is the bit I don't get: I currently have myself set as sedentary in…

Does this sound right for maintanence?
I gained a couple of lbs over the last 6 months-measurements haven't changed so I am hoping it is muscle as the only difference is now I go to the gym. I eat 1600-1700 cals a day. I do weigh my food. My height is 5ft2 and I currently weigh 8st 1 (but normally weight 7st12) I must admit my weekly average isn't always…

Body fat estimation
Does anyone fancy having a go at estimating my body fat % based on photos? My scales say 22%, the tape measure Army test says 17%, and calipers say 19%, but I'm aware that none of these are highly accurate (not that guesstimating from photos will be either!). I'm 5'10", weigh 137lbs, and my stats are 32/25/37".

I'm slowly gaining again??
Hi everyone! I've lost 26 pound in total in about half a year. I'm a 5'6 female. I run about 30 miles a week, and try to eat clean with 1400-1600 calories a day. I used to be around 127, but over the past month I gained a half pound of fat. No big deal, I was stress eating over finals and maybe didn't track as precisely as…

Moving into maintenance but still want to tone up
Not sure how to title this but I reached my goal weight. I'm 125 at 5'5" which is IMO a good healthy weight. However, I still want to tone up and lose belly flab and such. I am very active and am on my feet most of the day, plus I exercise 5-6 times a week usually vigorously. MFP says to eat 1900+ to maintain but if I want…

Time to learn how to @&# maintain!
Here's my custom ticker (if this works): Time to f'ing maintain! Approach this time - Keep logging and try for a 200kcal negative net most days - Keep exercising (getting outdoors more) - Keep eating "diet" breakfast and lunch (e.g., not eating at company cafeteria) - Slightly increase afternoon snack (e.g., add kind bar…

Fear of carbs!
So I just transitioned into maintenance today (yay!) and I've planned my week out fully in my diary. I met with an RD in preparation to transition, and we both agreed that adding a few more carb rich items to my daily menu wouldn't hurt. I'd been sticking to low carb (under 100g a day) during weight loss and didn't feel…

3kg flactuation
Got to wokeup and weigh myself this morning I'm maintaining around 68-70kg and the scale says I'm 71kg and got to say to myself what the heck and creeping all out. Last night I eat a lot of sodium from sea foods and a 2 cups of rice, is this a normal flactuation or I actually gain some up? I got a series of splurging in…

Body Recomposition!
I'm tired of cutting the heck of calories out from my diet even it is only 250-500 to cut unless I need too! So recomposition was a good idea to lose fat and gain some muscle, I know that it is a slow process but I'm willing to do whats it best. Can you share to me what you are doing when you are on a recomposition? For…

How to accept that this will be a life-long effort?
I'm a couple of months into maintenance at the moment. I maintain on 1600 cals/day + a couple of hundred exercise calories usually. I'm finding it quite hard to come to terms with the fact that if I don't want to regain I'm going to have to be really vigilant about food for the rest of my life. I haven't cut any foods out…

Calorie intake
Hey all! I've been slowly changing from being in a deficit to maintenance calories. My deficit was 1,200 daily goal and after about 2 months I had lost 11lbs. (From 135 to 124) extremely proud of this. HOWEVER, I was very overworked and feeling weak due to the low intake and started to rest up and changed my settings to…

Am I doing this right?
So I weigh 111 (it's okay guys I'm only 4'11 so I'm fine for my size) . I'm not overweight but my stomach is pudgy and I'm trying to tone it up and gain some muscle weight. I'm not sure if I should be part of the gaining weight, maintain or loosing community. Could someone give me some guidance please ? Thanks !

Can you do recomposition without lifting heavy?
I am 5ft 7 ish and around 119lbs and maintaining at the moment. I previously posted about issues with bingeing and purging and am getting help with this. I'm aware that I'm very lean at the moment and so have been looking into recomposition but not sure I completely understand it. I do a hiit workout six days a week and…

Did maintenance make you hungrier?
So I slowly upped my calories to maintenance over the past month or so. I find myself feeling more hungry and it taking more self-control not to splurge than it did when I was losing (netting about 1200/day). Did anyone else experience this? If so, did you get used to it eventually? Any tips? I guess I'll try to experiment…

Gained pounds but not visible in physical appearance
I gained 2 pounds which its ok for me because it's still stay on my weight range. I gained it but it's not visible in my appearance should I cut out for two weeks to lose that gain or it's up to me if I will continue the maintenance or to cut, I know many will answer that it's up to me but I still want to hear some…

Do you gradually add back calories?
I belong on this board--I've pretty much been within the same weight RANGE my whole adult life minus pregnancies-never lower than 129, never higher than 141, and usually somewhere in the middle. 135 is my goal weight and I just spent the past 4 months slowwwwwly getting back to that weight after I had found myself closer…

My son's problem
So my son wants to start being healthy. He is 13 years old, 5'7", and weighs 121-124 pounds. What is the daily calorie requirement he should eat to maintain weight because I fear that 2,000 could be too little or too much
