I'm in for the same goals as last month:

    Goal # 1 - 100 miles
    Goal # 2 - 110 miles

I have the following races this month:
Wisconsin Half Marathon on May 4
    Twilight 10K May 25
    Run Madtown Half May 26

    May 1 - 3 miles
    May 2 - 3 miles

    6 miles total for May

    Miles until Goal # 1 - 94 miles
    Miles until Goal # 2 - 104 miles

    May 4 - 13.1 miles

    19.1 miles for May

    Miles until Goal # 1 - 80.90 miles
    Miles until Goal # 2 - 90.90 miles

Ran Wisconsin Half Marathon yesterday and PR'd by over 2 minutes. Two HUGE PR's for me in 2 weeks. Old time was 2:04:02 and time yesterday was 2:01:53. And considering before April 20, I hadn't PR'd anything in 4 years. THIS IS MY YEAR!!!

Thank you to everyone who passed along congrats! I really feel great off that PR.

    May 6 - 5.13 miles

    24.23 miles for May

    Miles until Goal # 1 - 75.77 miles
    Miles until Goal # 2 - 85.77 miles

    May 8 - 3.22 miles

    27.45 miles for May

    Miles until Goal # 1 - 72.55 miles
    Miles until Goal # 2 - 82.55 miles

Well, I did a thing this week. I signed up officially for Marathon #3 this fall (September 22 to be exact). Oops.

    May 9 - 5 miles

    32.45 miles for May

    Miles until Goal # 1 - 67.55 miles
    Miles until Goal # 2 - 77.55 miles

    May 10 - 6 miles

    38.45 miles for May

    Miles until Goal # 1 - 61.55 miles
    Miles until Goal # 2 - 71.55 miles

    May 12 - 1 stupid mile

I did Tabata on Saturday and that just about killed me. I haven't taken a ton of time off since the half last week, so it finally caught up to me.

    39.45 miles for May
    Miles until Goal # 1 - 60.55 miles
    Miles until Goal # 2 - 70.55 miles

    Felt like myself today...
    May 14- 6 miles

    45.45 miles for May

    Miles until Goal # 1 - 54.55 miles
    Miles until Goal # 2 - 64.55 miles

At this rate, I'll barely get 100 miles this month. It's like I PR'd my half and lost a bunch of motivation. UGH.

    May 15 - 3.34 miles of speedwork

    48.79 miles for May

    Miles until Goal # 1 - 51.21 miles
    Miles until Goal # 2 - 61.21 miles

    May 17 - 4.21 miles

    53 miles for May

    Miles until Goal # 1 - 47 miles
    Miles until Goal # 2 - 57 miles

I’m doing a challenge on mapmyrun which has a badge for logging a run at night, and it’s been ridiculously hot, so my husband and I went out for a rare traipse around our neighborhood, where we don’t usually run because it’s not an ideal neighborhood - broken sidewalks, bad traffic, and high crime area. We did a little circuit of the nearby residential street which is like 2.5 miles or something, and the run was uneventful, although I did turn around halfway out the door and swap shoes because my Sauconys have a lower drop which was making my tendon hurt.

But the return home was anything but uneventful! Our two cats were fixated on the bookcase, and under the bookcase was this fella!!!

We have seen him and his momma before, but never in the house! And I have no idea how he got in. Momma was nowhere to be seen. We set him out back where we saw them the other day and are keeping an eye out. Tomorrow we are checking the house over - I know there are holes up under the eaves, and since we just had the AC ductwork replaced I’m suspecting a connection from the attic to the ducts to the interior somewhere. Poor little guy! My husband handled him with gloves but he did nothing but cuddle and make tweedling noises, didn’t even try to bite or get away.

Smart with the gloves! I need get me a pair like that.

Today is the day of the half marathon. We are on our second 30 minute weather delay. There is a pretty good thunderstorm overhead right now. Hopefully it will pass and we will be able to run. At least there is a nice building we can wait in.

Watch out for puddles when you run! They often hid ankle eating holes.

They decided that the weather was not going to get better. The lightning was too close. There was a tornado warning south of us, and they were worried about a few low lying areas where people could fall so no race for me today. 😪 They are giving us a choice of a refund, or of transferring our registration to next year though. And I won a door prize. A $75 gift card to a nice local restaurant.

ACK! Sorry to hear this, but glad you will be safe! And well fed :)
