    72.05/100  miles completed for April

I had a great 5 mile run this morning.  I usually take Mondays as rest days, but since I raced Saturday and didn't run Sunday I really wanted to get out there. Plus we may have storms later this week. The weather was pretty nice. It was kind of warm and humid but not too bad.  It was winder than I like, but the wind did help keep me cool. I haven't had a chance to read the thread yet today but I wanted to go ahead and post my run.

That's great news @polskagirl01 ! Glad it was nothing serious with your back and that you are safe.

Great job on your runs @GatorLally !

Great run for you too, @Tramboman !

I got called into work today, so my plans are all up in the air. I do hope to get the lawn mowed after I get home, so it may be another walk day. We'll see how I feel once everything I need to do gets done.

I woke with the stomach bug yesterday morning so no run for me. Thankfully it was short-lived. Just a rough few hours. This morning it was 48F and the full moon was still in the sky when I started while the sun was making a beautiful show on the horizon in the east. Pretty uneventful but I noticed on my Garmin and Strava maps that when I turned around instead of following the road back (which I did), the maps show me going in a straight line. Is this because I lost GPS signal or something?

@katharmonic – Your day yesterday sounded perfect! Sleeping in Running on the beach. Starbucks. Relaxation… Well deserved! Safe travels home today.

@tramboman – You’re going to be ready for your upcoming races with all those Garmin PRs! Good job!

Great news from physio @polskagirl01. Sorry for the rude drivers and wow on that hand grenade! Not something I hear about often.

In training for first full marathon, and have hit a wall in the process. Exhausted over the last 2 weeks and only managed
    04/16 = 8 k
    04/18 = 34 k (more energetic today)
    04/20 = 8 k
    04/21 = 11.5 k

    04/23 = zippo - should've done 8.2 k
    04/25 = 20 k (schedule had me doing 30)
    04/27 = scheduled for 6.2 k - wish me luck

To 04/25 I have 192.4 k. I don't know how to find my earlier entry with my goal, but I'm assuming it was 200 K for April. Wish me luck - I know there's a lot of April left, but I'm two weeks out from marathon, feeling exhausted and tapering starts later this week.

Congrats to all who have already met or exceeded their April goals. You are each superstars in my eyes! Be proud.

I think it's pretty normal to feel some burn-out at this stage of your marathon training. Do you run with others? If not, is there someone or more than one person who can run with you to help entertain you? Even if they just run part of the mileage it would be a good distraction. Something that helped me in training for my marathon last year is doing my long run in different areas. It sometimes required driving 45 minutes or so, but just seeing different streets and scenery helped immensely.

As @WhatMeRunning said - honor thy taper!!

@Teresa502 - That looks to me like a classic case of losing GPS for a bit and it catching up later by connecting the two most recent dots.

That makes sense. When I got back close to home and checked my watch, I felt like I should have had more mileage than it showed. I guess that could explain it a little bit.

@rb3551 yes, it's very common to feel exhausted at that point. Also normal to be overwhelmed with doubts and questioning your choices and ability to run a marathon. It's AMAZING what that taper can do though!

@Teresa502 My watch also does a straight line between points like that if I pause the workout manually and forget to unpause it. Could you have bumped the button? If not, probably just lost the signal.

@Teresa502 I've had that happen to me too. I think it is a loss in the GPS signal, so it goes in a straight line from where it lost it until it found it again. It's annoying. Probably showed less mileage than you actually ran too.

@rb3551 Hopefully the taper is what you need to get your mojo back! Good luck with the rest of the month and your marathon.

@katharmonic Sorry about the delayed flight. It's so hard to get in that late and then have to go to work the next day. I think you did great going for a short run with Stella.

@kgirlhart Glad you had such a great run! I agree. Taking care of yourself is much more important than meeting some arbitrary goal. And, you killed that 10K!

@pfeiferlindsey Whoot!!!! Congratulations on your 100 mile month! You should be proud of yourself.

Mostly sunny, upper 60s F, and a brisk wind from the south. One of those days with little motivation and even less energy. Heard toads trilling (about two weeks early); saw a big snapping turtle swimming in a pond; and there was a baby's pacifier lying on the trail.

When you pop in here claiming your December 2021 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?

PUT THE FUN BACK IN THE RUN!
Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs (second attempt)

@Scott6255 You are pulverizing your goal this month!

@Tramboman There's probably a family somewhere frantically looking for said pacifier while listening to a screaming baby. Nice run, even if you weren't feeling it.

@WhatMeRunning I'd go with the latter, if I were you.

6.6 mile hilly run with 1,739 feet of Elevation. I have now surpassed my running goal of 100 miles this month 😊.

April cumulative: 103/100 miles - 7,790 feet of Elevation.
