What do you do when you are not feeling well?
I find that when I am under the weather, my appetite just goes away. I've been working very hard to keep my calories up but the past few days, I've really been struggling with it. I am nauseous and do not want to eat much at all. Is this ok to do for a few days while one is sick or should I force myself to eat more?

Calling all alcohol lovers!
I have been "dieting" since i was 15 so I never really drank because drinking would cause me to use excess calories. Now that I am eating more, i feel like i definitely have room in my calories budget to include a few drinks! What drink recommendations do you have for a first time drinker? Beer, wine, mixed drinks,…

EM2WL without using a scale
Hi, everyone - I've been using Fitbit for a few months now and recently started exploring My Fitness Pal. I discovered this group and it feels like home! As I've been reading through some of the conversations, I see lots of references to not using your scale. I am personally all for staying off the scale, as it…

Some Clarification Please!
My TDEE is 2183 (light exercise 1 - 3times per week) My BMR: 1580 Calories: 1720 Hopefully I don't come off sounding insanely stupid, but here goes nothing. So, I understand that I am not supposed to net under my BMR, however, I have also heard I am never supposed to eat over my TDEE. But, what happens if I need to eat…

Moderate vs strenuous activity? Also Met Reset?
Hmmm..I'm looking at the scooby calculator and was thinking about activity level since it impacts my TDEE by around 300 calories! If I do a strength training dvd that's 48 minutes long 3 days a week and do a cardio workout that's at least 35 minutes long (with one hour long cardio burn once a week usually) the other 3 days…

another "am I doing this right" question.....
Hi All, started this yesterday! I thought if i had to eat another bite I would puke. Thought I would make sure my numbers are correct and I'm doing things right! I have seen some say you add 200 for days you lift?? Also after struggling to eat so much yesterday, I just redid my scooby thing today to make sure i was…

I'm Looking for a Personal Coach...Someone to Hold My Hand!
I don't really know any of you yet, but I'm hoping I can find someone willing to help me through this whole EM2LM thing. I sort of need someone to hold my hand through it. Here's the short version: Long story short, my first marriage was to an emotionally manipulative man who cheated on me multiple times with…

A Different Way of Calculating... what do you think?
So because my workouts are kind of all over the board, I like to eat more on the days I work out and less on the days I don't. I also find the desire to eat more is somewhat of an incentive to get out and move my butt... so here's how I've been calculating the calories I should eat... I've tracked calories burned every day…

Should I do a reset?
I have been losing weight for nearly 6 years for quite a chunk of that time I was eating 1800 cals. Last year for about 6months I was eating 1485 and did get to goal, I then for a few months tried to stick to 1200 but this led to a binge cycle and I ultimately gained 11 kilos (eek!) altho I have now lost. 2 kilos, I have…

eating more/hungry all the time
After doing the absolute worst thing possible...eating 1200 calories..working out and NOT eating exercise calories back, I decided to try the EMTL. Initially I did gain a few pounds but as of today it looks like the scale MIGHT be budging. I have been pretty consistent in eating 1400 calories a day. However, I find I am…

Losing on a reset?!?!
A few days ago I noticed a little bit of a loss....and it's still a loss today. I've lost 0.6lbs and I'm almost two weeks into a reset. I exercised 2.5 hours last week so I have the right setting on the scooby site. I'm wondering if I should up my calories or if a small loss like this is OK to do on a reset. I'm mixing…

Fluctuating TDEE while on reset?
I've decided that I'm going to do the re-set for 8 weeks, and I have a question. My activity level is going to change during the 8 weeks, so I'm guessing I should be changing the calories I eat? For example, I'm finishing up my last 2 weeks of Insanity right now, so my activity level is pretty high. When I'm done I'm going…

new here
Hi! I am Katie. I thought i would tell you about myself. In january I weighed 220 pounds. I am not at 191 pounds. I have underate for the longest time usually eating 1,000-1100 calories. and I would do either one of two things eat from emotion or I don't eat and shut down. I heard about eat more to weigh less and thought…

I'm a scale junkie
When I upped my calories to TDEE for 2 weeks before my race I gained about 4.5 lbs over those 2 weeks. I raced well and was able to run fast while I was eating that much, but now that my race is over I am back to a cut... On Tuesday morning I cut my calories back to 1640 net (about 2140 daily to cut... I do the MFP…

OK.. Another Reset Question..How do you know if you need to
So today makes 1 week that I have been EM2WL and I jumped right in last week doing a TDEE minus 15 % cut. I've been on MFP for the past 30 days and have been following Weight Watchers for the past 5 months. I was a follow the plan (29 points, I don't know what these calories equate to) and then occassionally exceed my…

beginning again
I really need to do this right so tomorrow I am going to begin again from scratch. I think I really need to do the reset for the 8 weeks to really get this done right. dealing with some things also. this is very humbling I get afraid of letting others down by realizing I need to begin again. the more em2wl friends the…

Alcohol
Ok, so obviously in an ideal world I would just count alcohol and it's empty calories out. But I love my wine and I'm not giving it up :) I am loving eating more to weigh less and after 6 weeks or so the weight seems to be coming off...awesome! Anyway, my question is....when I do have wine, I always count it so I usually…

Should I reset? NEW AT THIS!
Hi there :) . Although I'm not new to dieting, healthy food, and exercise, I'm extremely new to this whole EM2WL. Since Oct. 2011 I had been eating only 800-1000 cal :S, and running approx. 3 miles a day 5 days a week. A month ago, after losing 20 lbs I decided I wasn't going to starve any longer because I wasn't seeing…

HELPPP Not losing weight!!
Im 5"7, 182 lbs and my BMR is 1600, I exercise 3-5 times a week, I've calculated that I should eat 2000 calories if I am to be 20% under my TDEE. Does this sound correct? I've been on a clean diet and intense exercise sessions (bootcamp) for 2 months now and I've only lost 4lbs. Any recommendations?? Thanks xx

Trying to wrap my mind around this
So I started eating 2000 calories this week. I'm also still working out but making sure I don't burn so much that I drop below my BMR. I think I'm understanding this so far. I guess my question is this.....How does EM2WL differ from eating at BMR and eating back your exercise calories? That's kind of how it seems to be now…

Alittle help working this out please
Ok, in April I went low-carb. It helped: jump-started my weight loss, gave me more energy, helped with stomach issues/intestinal problems, as well got me eating much healthier (and doc said I needed to do something as he told me I was pre-diabetic).. But over the last 3 weeks, I've not really lost anything, at least scale…

Question for NRLFW people.
I'm just about to finish level one workout 7 of NRLFW, but I'm leaving on a ten day vacation (NYC and New England!) I won't be able to lift while away. What should I do when I get back? Start back at stage one workout 8 with previous weight loads? (ouch!) Do the last workout with lower weights? Or, just move on to the next…

NSV that not everyone would get
This is silly really, but in some weird way it made me super happy. I couldn't share this on the general forum, because I don't think people would understand. I've been trying to go through piles in my house (a neverending job I think). Anyways, I found my weightwatchers bag with all of my weightwatchers stuff. As I've…

Are your temps off??
This may sound strange but has anyone else noticed, as their metabolism is becoming more fired up, that you're hot all the time. I mean, ALL. THE. TIME. Yesterday, I took the kids to McDonald's and they were complaining about how cold it was and I was literally sweating. I asked a lady sitting next to us if she thought it…

effective lifting program/book for home use (not gym)?
Anyone know of a book or plan that is considered to be as effective as the New Rules of Lifting for Women, but can be done at home? I can buy a few weights, a ball, bands -- but not all the equipment that New Rules requires. I already do Pilates 2x week but want to add 2-3 more strength training sessions per week. Thanks!

How much water do you drink a day? How much are we supposed to be drinking??
