Help changing body shape
I have been using mfp for over a year now. Initially I had some weight to lose but now I have reached my goal weight but I still have too much fat around my middle. I don't want to lose any more weight as I'm only 118lb, how can I stop losing weight and start changing my body shape? I exercise 3 times a week, Les mills…

Favorite / best food scale?
I recently started using MFP to track my macros and see where I needed to improve as far as my eating habits go. (no weight to lose; I'm happy where I'm at) But, I just "guestimate" a lot of things. Time to get a food scale! What do you all recommend, please?

Struggling
Not loosing any weight lately regardless of how much I work out OR how little I eat. If anything, I'm gaining if I dare to eat anything that is not fruits or veggies. Feel free to look at my diary and make suggestions. Frustrated. EDIT: I'm not as concerned about NOT loosing weight, rather than the fact that if I did eat 3…

I Don't Know How to Start?
Hi. I'm female and 33. My biggest issue is that I can't seem to find a good program to stick with. I've always been fit and I'm at the perfect weight and BMI. I'm also quite athletic but I lack strength. I can do cardio for long hours but strength training and toning is my weakness. I can't get past 15 push ups or past 2…

I gained back ten pounds over the last year...Back at it and looking for support!
January 2013, I decided to regain the self confidence that I lost after having two children, and it worked. I lost almost 60 pounds and went from close to 180 down to 120. I felt amazing, and it showed; however, over the last year and a half I have gained back 10 pounds. I am in graduate school, and work full time so I…

I'm Here!
Hit 129.4 on Saturday and my goal was 129.9. Have not been 'worried' about the scale for a while, but it feels good to get there. Would not mind another .9 (to hit 50 officially) and of course its fluctuated back up today but I know that's no concern. I judge my calorie burned based on my Fitbit, though I know its an…

Finally Here!
I finally belong on this board. As of last night I am actually a pound below my goal weight. So I guess I can eat a little more or exercise a little less. I suppose it will take me a while to figure out what works for me.

Maintaining While (Technically) Underweight
Hi, I have hit pretty close to my goal weight, but I am considered underweight for my height. I have been checked by a nutritionist and do have a very small bone structure. However, because I am technically underweight, I am having trouble determining how many calories I need to maintain and maybe loose a little body fat…

When does catching small weight gains turn into yo-yo dieting?
If you have to lose the same last five pounds again and again as you navigate long-term maintenance, is that yo-yo dieting? or just maintaining? Seems impossible to keep my weight the exact same, so I'm often doing a small correction to lose a little again before my weight creeps up too far. What's your experience with…

How do hungry people sustain unnaturally low weights
Not that this is something I'd want to do. I'm OK with being 5'6 and 130 lbs but I remember I heard Julianne Moore saying that actresses are always hungry and they do things like skip dinner. She mentioned that she was naturally slender but felt she had to diet constantly to be thin enough for Hollywood. Side note: I saw a…

Have I screwed up my metabolism?
Have I totally ballsed up my metabolism? I had a stomach infection two weeks ago which triggered a relapse, and my weight went down a couple of pounds. I'm trying to get back on eating something solid each day (oats in the morning, a banana etc later in the day) but I'm still averaging 400cals a day. Last week this made my…

Losing weight but don't want to
I have recently stopped junk food and gone to a healthier diet of mostly complex carbs, better fats, and a mixture of animal as well as vegetable protein. I used to have trouble keeping my weight down eating about 1800 calories a day. Now I am steadily losing weight on 2000-2100 calories a day. I am eating much more fiber…

Eating Vegetables: Can you eat too much Veggies?
I officially moved to maintenance a couple months ago. I'm still losing some weight, mostly because I am marathon training and running 70 miles a week. (Approx 90 minutes of exercise in an average day) But over the last 2 months, I have begun changing my meals and snacking to include more vegetables. Yesterday for instance…

How long have you been at your goal weight?
This question is for the girls only. I figure whatever is going on for guys has not so much relevance to my situation. And First up let me clarify: The goal weights i'm interested in are pretty low goal weights, say somewhere in the mid range of your healthy weight range for your height or less. How long have you been able…

IBS flare ups: weight gains
I went from a continuous 115lbs to a 120 in a couple days. Didn't increase calories. Just may not be eating healthy calories. I went to bed feeling super full and crampy, and haven't gotten normal since. I have IBS unfortunately. I can go months and months with no problem and BAM here comes hell. My abdominal area is…

Visual Difference but same inches and weight
I did my week comparison and I noticed a big difference visually but my inches and weight are the same. Why is that? I'm not trying to lose weight just trying to tone up.

is this exercise regime enough to generally tone?
Hi there everyone I am very confused about the whole concept of strength training. I have read somewhere that strength training is strictly weights and then I have read elsewhere that doing calisthenics is classed as strength training as well? I tend to do a lot of cycling (as a hobbie) and this has toned me a lot but…

I don't want to lose anymore weight...
Morning :) I exercise regularly and I eat at my maintenance calories daily, eat back some of my exercise calories and often treat myself at weekends. Is excess skin removal surgery selfish?
I lost 100 pounds and have been maintaining my weight loss for 3 years. Unfortunately, due to all the excess skin I have, I still feel fat. I know I will never be able to move on and be happy with my body until I have surgery to remove the skin. I had a consultation with a plastic surgeon, who confirmed what I was never…

I am happy to announce I am fitting into pants I have not been able to fit into for years!! I am thrilled. I am still not where I want to be, but I have reached my first big hurtle. I have been going to the gym and exercising. Sadly, I have also been smoking. I sure hope I can maintain these measurements and not put belly…

Finding the right number
I just completed my first 5 weeks of maintenance. I continued to lose for the first three weeks, then it seemed to level out until last week when my weight started to climb again. I had increased my calories so that my average was within 100 calories of MFP recommendations by the end, with my average for the 5 weeks being…

History of laxative abuse/ water intake
Hi! I've noticed my weight fluctuates ALOT. One day it will be on the "low end" another day on the "high end." I used to be maintaining on 1850-2000 bit cut back to 1700-1800 in hopes to fix the fluctuations... no such luck. Now I am confused as to what my body's maintenance level is. I do have a history of laxative abuse…

Over 60 - what do you do to stay in shape?
I was so impressed with the over 40's thread in this area, that I was keen to know how much exercise is too much to maintain goal weight? I'm 62. Sounds like we all love working out and keeping in shape. I started using hand weights 9 months ago and this strength training has cured my early signs of arthritis.
