From Cutting to Maintenance
I've spent the past 12 weeks on a slight deficit (0.5 lbs per week) and I am satisfied with my results. I spent a lot of that time using a scale, measuring out my foods for meal prep, and splitting my meals up into 3 main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and 3 snacks throughout the day about 2-3 hours apart. I have also…

Maintenance Busted!
After losing 70#, I successfully maintained for 6 months. My idea was to settle in, give myself a break, then hunker in to lose the last 10. My "drop back" to 1700 started March 1, and I have since gained 10 pounds. Up to 160. It's not water weight, or muscle or food in my tract. Its the result of completely losing control…

Maintenance Calories while on Vacation
I'll be on vacation this coming week with my in-laws. I've been losing consistently and I feel it is more realistic to have a maintenance week instead of trying to stick to my usual deficit. The TDEE calculator at tdeecalculator.net suggests about 1700 calories to maintain my current weight at sedentary. Can anyone give me…

Maintenance range: actual weight or moving average weight
For those who weigh daily or frequently and track in a trending app: is your "take action" number an actual daily weight number or the moving average line? For exampke, When the daily weight jumps above the top end of the range, say 150, do you immediately go into deficit mode or just when the moving average gets up there?…

Very few extra calories once I go into maintenance
I have just checked as I am now very close to goal weight, and I will only be getting 250 extra calories once I switch from losing .5 per week to maintenance. Just want to check that is right. Can u sense the disappointment whilst typing?! Was hoping for a few more there to play with....

starting to do some low carb
Lost 40 lbs 4 years ago, gained back 10, playing around with 7-10 lbs so this week I decided to switch it up a bit, doing meat, veggies, salad. The cravings seem less. Anyone else do low carb?

Loose skin.....
Losing all this weight has been great, except for all the loose skin that came with it. The joys of being the wrong side of 40 for weight loss. Will this skin eventually shrink back closer to my current size or is it something to deal with for the rest of my life?

1000th day of logging !...and why I continue to during maintenance.
My feed today reminded me that I have been logging my meals and exercise for 1000 days now. About the last 365 days of that time have been maintenance from my 100 pound weight loss. Some of my friends ask Nye why I continue to log when I have learned what I need to do (and not do) to maintain. And my reason isn't just for…

Accuracy of Wearable - TDEE
Hi everyone, Question about using a Fitbit or other wearable to evaluate TDEE - is it possible that over time your wearable will overestimate TDEE as your body acclimates to exercise and becomes more efficient? If so, how do you think the confidence level of the data changes over time? I ask because I find that I now have…

Toning
I'm at my maintenance point, every time I hit this weight (56/57kg) I plateau which given it's a fairly low weight anyhow for most people feels like my body telling me not to keep losing. However, I still feel like there's a distance to go before I hit my goal body. I'm just not reallt sure how to go about transitioning to…

Early planning here. Any veggies happy to share their diaries?
I've a little way to go still, but I'm starting to make a bit of a mud map of maintenance for me. Using MSExcel to graph my weigh loss and applying a trend line seems to indicate that, plateaus to one side, I might expect to get to my target weight soon after mid-May. Are any maintainers interested in adding an old bloke…

Eating enough
Nope, no where near eating enough according to the stats given everyday. After having an extra 'before gym' protein shake I'm out of the 'red zone' alert given by the programme for not eating enough for today. I don't deny myself any food, my appetite isn't brilliant and therefore I suppose I can't get enough calories...…
