starting to do some low carb
Lost 40 lbs 4 years ago, gained back 10, playing around with 7-10 lbs so this week I decided to switch it up a bit, doing meat, veggies, salad. The cravings seem less. Anyone else do low carb?

Loose skin.....
Losing all this weight has been great, except for all the loose skin that came with it. The joys of being the wrong side of 40 for weight loss. Will this skin eventually shrink back closer to my current size or is it something to deal with for the rest of my life?

1000th day of logging !...and why I continue to during maintenance.
My feed today reminded me that I have been logging my meals and exercise for 1000 days now. About the last 365 days of that time have been maintenance from my 100 pound weight loss. Some of my friends ask Nye why I continue to log when I have learned what I need to do (and not do) to maintain. And my reason isn't just for…

I tend toward HIIT and pretending I can run (intervals). Atheist that's not into woo (no cleanses etc, that's what your liver and kidneys are…

Accuracy of Wearable - TDEE
Hi everyone, Question about using a Fitbit or other wearable to evaluate TDEE - is it possible that over time your wearable will overestimate TDEE as your body acclimates to exercise and becomes more efficient? If so, how do you think the confidence level of the data changes over time? I ask because I find that I now have…

Need advice to get off the Merry Go Round
When do I stop the calorie deficit? I have been on MFP off and on for the last 5 years. In 5 years, I have lost and regained 3 times and my weight has been between 128-160lbs at 5'7". I know how to get the weight off, my problem is maintenance. I am literally scared to stop the deficit because I DO NOT want to go through…

Toning
I'm at my maintenance point, every time I hit this weight (56/57kg) I plateau which given it's a fairly low weight anyhow for most people feels like my body telling me not to keep losing. However, I still feel like there's a distance to go before I hit my goal body. I'm just not reallt sure how to go about transitioning to…

Early planning here. Any veggies happy to share their diaries?
I've a little way to go still, but I'm starting to make a bit of a mud map of maintenance for me. Using MSExcel to graph my weigh loss and applying a trend line seems to indicate that, plateaus to one side, I might expect to get to my target weight soon after mid-May. Are any maintainers interested in adding an old bloke…

Ketogenic diet for health and body comp., not wieght loss
Hi. Any advice for recommended grams of carbs for lowering body fat percentage by working out... but don't need to lose weight. I did the 10 grams carbs a day for nine months. Where I want to be now, but feel low energy. Need more carbs, like 50 a day. Will I stay in ketosis? Thanks!! All advice appreciated.

Can I ...
maintain my current weight while building muscle and loosing body fat? I weigh 100kgs which is 28kg higher than BMI guidelines require but I am comfortable with myself at this weight. I have weighed less many many years ago but I felt that I was too small. I have a large frame and end up being ribs and hips lol So I…

Hernia
Hey guys, I used to use this app when I was 13 because I was anorexic and kept my calorie goal at 500 but I gained weight and now realize that I need to eat but there is a problem! I have a hiatal hernia which causes me to not be able to eat certain foods, lose weight rather fast and throw up often. I dont know if anyone…

Maintenance question:
I eat all throughout the day and stay full, never really hungry but I am almost always below my daily calorie goal. What do you do when you are not hitting your calorie goal but are feeling satisfied? Another issue is if I eat more to meet my calorie goal I go over on my sodium, or fat, etc. I've only been tracking my food…

I want to lose a little fat but not weight, should I be on calorie deficit?
Hi everyone! I'm 22, 161cm, 48 kg. I have some fat around my hips and legs moslty which I want to get rid of and be leaner. My BMI is 18.5 which is on the egde of underweight according to the calculators. I don't really care how much the scale shows, as long as I look lean and don't bulk up. So to burn that fat do I need…

Eating enough
Nope, no where near eating enough according to the stats given everyday. After having an extra 'before gym' protein shake I'm out of the 'red zone' alert given by the programme for not eating enough for today. I don't deny myself any food, my appetite isn't brilliant and therefore I suppose I can't get enough calories...…

taking a day to eat whatever you want and not count calories
it seems like once a month or two I take a day and eat whatever I want, I don't know if this is binging or just giving myself a break. It could even be I try to be perfect for so long. It seems to be ok as long as I get back on track but I do feel guilty. I know skinny people overeat sometimes also. Well this weekend I had…

When to stop weight loss.
How do you really know when you have reached the 'ideal' weight and transition into maintenance? I am only 1 kg off of my goal but my body fat percentage is still 28% and I would like it to be a bit lower although this is still an acceptable amount for my age. My BMI is 23 but with an extra kilo gone it will be 22.5%. Also…

Really need some insight about maintenence. :(
So for the past 7 months Ive been maintaining my new weight range of about 127-130 pounds. I'm 5'8 and female and have a pretty small frame. The problem is I still have a ton of fat on my body. I've got a lot of fat on my belly and legs and I'm just not happy with where I'm at. I guess I'm skinny fat now. I don't really…

Intuitive eating vs planned eating schedule
Had no problem maintaining my weight or shaving down a few pounds the last two years. First couple months of this year I find I'm doing less activity and more stress has entered the scene. I'm 5lbs up since the start of February and need to stop this slide. For the longest time I had a typical set food schedule of same…

Where weight loss stops, it stops. Or?
Question to all you wonderful Maintainers: I'm a 62yr old woman, and 6ft tall. In the past year I lost 104lbs, from 305 to 201. When I started out, I arbitrarily set my "goal" at 195, which - incredibly - is now a mere 6lbs away and will probably be met within a month or two. I really love my current lifestyle! I eat…

Should I drop Intermittent Fasting?
Hi all, I finally reached my weight goal: 69,5 kg. I lost almost 20 kg since July 2016. I was on a calories reduction (under 2k cal) throughout that time. Intermittent Fasting (IF) helped me a lot with that. But here comes the question: Now that I am no longer on calories deficit and I want to maintain my weight, should I…

80% Mental?
What percentage of successful weight loss and maintenance is mental, do you think? It took determination, focus and motivation for me to get to where I am at the moment, but I feel like a combination of things this week has meant that my head has not been in the game. And the result has shown on the scale. I'm in need of a…

Fitbit in maintenance
Hello, I was just wondering how accurate your fitbit has been in calculating daily maintenance calories? How many calories does it say you burn a day according to the fitbit website? How many do you actually maintain on? Trying to get an idea if they are accurate for judging maintenance calories.
