gained weight, should I lower cal intake?
I am 18 years old, 158cm, and today weigh 44kg. I started to up my cal from 1450 to 1550 cal intake 18 ago and I've gained 1kg on the second day of upping cal to 43kg, and for the past few days I've been having fever but I continue to eat 1550cal daily but today I found out that I gain another kg and weigh 44kg. Is that…

Questions...
I weighed myself a few weeks ago and I was 156.0. Ever since then when I weigh myself, it's always around the 162 area and never seems to be going down. I don' know how this happened in a matter of a few weeks, I know it's water weight but I don't know how to get myself back down to the 156.0 range. I'm currently trying to…

Why am I losing weight?
I've been attempting to gain/maintain my weight and have managed to lose 3 lbs. I've recently started working out a lot more aggressively but have been eating back the calories it is saying i'm burning. My workouts are typically just a little bit of cardio (a light jog) for about 10 minutes just to get me warmed up and…

Getting in all my water
This topic has been posted many times, but I'm looking for new, helpful opinions. I love water, and never had trouble drinking 64 oz a day. As a matter of fact, I was hospitalized for overhydration at one point!! Recently though, I'm really struggling to be consistent with my intake. I know thirst has nothing to do with…

How do I pick a goal weight?
I'm 5'4", 129 pounds, size 2. Other people think i'm crazy for wanting to lose more weight. My magic number that I envisioned for myself was 115. Who knows what that looks like though..lol. I lost weight without doing weight training, so now i'm a flabby loose skin mess...lol. I have lost 87 pounds so far. I now do weight…

readjusting calorie goal
So I had a very good year in 2013, losing 30 or so pounds, and recalculating my daily calorie goal upward a couple of times along the way. Now that the holidays are over, and I've gained back about 10 points, I need MyFitnessPal to recalculate my calorie goal downward again so I can get back to where I was, which was…

Obese once... obese forever?
If you were obese once and lost weight through constantly being on a calorie deficit, when you 'maintain', is your TDEE (?) lower than other people of the same weight? As in, if I lose weight to 200 lbs by being on a calorie deficit for one year, and I find out that my 'maintenance' required to maintain my weight at 200lbs…

"Stay at your curent weight!"
I was 174 then lost 46 pounds. My family especially my husband said I should gain more. Increased my calorie intake to 2000. So now I was 140 and everyone said "stay where you are." I kept eating and the vacations came. I gained more and now am sitting at 148 pounds on this new year's eve. I know I have to lose the pounds.…

Almost at maintenance
Hi friends! I posted this on the weight loss board as well, but I feel like I am so close I want to start thinking maintenance! I have 2.5lbs to goal...and I'm looking for some more friends to help me get the rest of the way and stay there! Please add me if you are in a similar situation and are active on MFP. Thanks!

Why does MFP say I will gain?
When I enter my foods and exercise and then finish out the day the little ticker usually says "if every day was like today you would weigh xxx in 5 weeks" I weigh 110. Set at maintenance to stay at 110. Today I ate all my calories plus ate back all of my exercise calories but 2. MFP says that in five weeks I would weigh…

maintaining in ed recovery
I have my MFP set at maintaining but as you can see I'm obviously not eating my maintenance calories. Ive said this so many times, my moods from not eating enough, the hair loss, the collar bones basically jumping out if my skin. I want this to stop. I'm not mentioning the ed, I don't care what I have to do. I need as much…

Lots of celebrating--dilemma
SO the holidays are over...NOT. My birthday is January 4th. Let me start by saying that this holiday season, I did pretty well with maintaining my weight and enjoying myself without gorging too bad. I worked out pretty well. But my birthday is coming. There are a bunch of different people who would like to celebrate with…

New to maintaining
Hey all, I'm new to maintaining and it seems like my calories per day is very high. At 6'5, 218lbs my base is around 2,900 (not to mention on my long run and long swim days it could add 500-1000 calories). For those who have been on maintenance do you find your calorie suggestions to be good for you or did you adjust them?…

Eat maintenance calories when sick?
I'm feeling kind of sick right now so I'm asking this just in case I really fall ill. When you guys are sick do you still stick to eating your maintenance calories? Or do you just eat whatever you want? But when we are sick we tend to eat a lot lesser, do you eat those calories back once you have recovered?

2 Workouts in 1 Day
I am starting Insanity today to train for my training certificate so I would like to complete the program again to be prepared. BUT....I am also a Turbo Kick trainer so I need to practice the routine everyday. If I am working out twice in one day how do I figure out my calories or does anyone have any advice? Greatly…

What causes failure?
I wasn't sure where to post this question, so I figure I would ask those that are trying to maintain. Lately I have seen several people posting things like "Back to MFP again". I've seen a lot of people on here talking about how they lost weight and then gained some or all of it back so they are back on MFP. Why do people…

7 lb overnight weight gain
Hello, For some reason I gained about 7 lbs overnight. I wouldn't say I had an all out cheat day or anything because I did a pretty good workout. Last night I ran 9.06 miles straight without stopping (My longest run yet) in 1 hour and 27 minutes. I burned about 1300 calories. I did eat around 2600 calories though,…

so...this is awkward
Lost 30# or so and have joined the world of the living. Men have suddenly discovered the amazingly sensual creature I am & I have my own theme music. It plays in my head where ever I go (don't judge me) Boys steal glances at me & older (ahem) men of a certain age just outright stare. Apparently, I'm quite the head…

The Happy Weight Thread
This thread is to remind yourself why it's worth it to keep from gaining back lost weight. You can use comments, quotes, selfies, or motivational knick-knacks from the net. Whatever you want to store up to remind yourself when things get tough. My first one: I'm happier to go out and be social when I'm at my happy weight.

Skinny friends please
hi all! I have some great friends already but, like me, they're working hard to still lose weight. I think it would be great to have a few friends who have already met their goals and are maintaining. Please add me if you're an active, daily logger who isn't trying to lose. Congratulations to you all and thanks!

What is your "bounce" range?
So I am getting SOOOO close to maintenance- I only want to lose about 2-3 more lbs. My weight loss has slowed considerably obviously, but I am OK with that- I consider it "sliding" into maintenance. I am currently about 5'4 and this morning I weighed in at 146. I was wondering if any of you had a weight number above and/or…

Fitbit zip, holidays and maintenance weight
Ugh, every year the holidays packs 10-15 lbs on me and takes up to 3 months to get it off. I usually maintain my weight over half of the year, but come holidays, I lose it and get an I don't care attitude. I always say every year...I won't do that again and I'm back where I was and even a little on the worse side this…

Maintaining on Vacation
In a little less than two days I'll be leaving for a ten day vacation in Florida with my family! :) I'm so excited, but I'm fairly certain I won't be able to log accurately since there will be a lot of eating out/home meals. I haven't done this in a LONG time (except for Thanksgiving, which was one meal, and I still went…
