I forgot to share my latest NSV with you.
I went to a baby shower Saturday, and there was homemade cupcakes, veggies and dip, nuts, chocolate covered pretzel sticks, watermelon, pistachio salad, and candy. I filled 2 small plates with veggies and little bit of dip, 1 pretzel, watermelon, mixed nuts, (just a few) 4 buttermints, (which I shared with Mr. Mo) and a small scoop of pistachio salad. I totally skipped the cupcakes!!! I didn't even feel like I was missing out because everyone that ate one, had blue lips and tongue.
This is a NSV! I LOVE cupcakes. However blue lips, teeth and tongue are not my favorite.0 -
Exactly! I was quite proud of myself today. When my niece got I'll and our trip got canceled for today (so far tomorrow is still on) I went to my oil changed and stopped at TJMAXX and actually walked out only buying 1 pair of shorts (what I went for) and put the adorable hot pink train running jacket I had picked up and totally didn't need back. Yay me!
Although I will be passing by there again tomorrow...
I love workout clothes.

Goodness, yes. Crazy back and forth TMI love messages on the public wall drive me nuts. Take it to PM, OR hey, say it to them in person. Crazy, I know!
What about the people that fight on FB where everyone can watch. No shame.
I know, all crazy!
Like one guy always posts about his wonderful wife.....well buddy, I am sure she is sitting on the sofa next to you, just tell her!
Or the ones that air all their dirty laundry, about marital problems, money troubles or whatever else.....like really?0 -
@pofoster21 I'm behind and checking in from page 1360 & 1361 - LOVED the pics of your 1/2 marathon! And congrats on your NSV - you DO look petite! You are quite an inspiration here! I wish I liked running - you make it sound just so darned enjoyable.
Maybe I will give it another chance once I get down to near my "goal weight" (another 15 - 20 lbs).
Running is therapeutic and enjoyable. Just start slow and build up. You will love it. There is nothing like the act of moving your body through space, and that moment in your stride where you are airborne (both feet off the ground ) feels like flying.0 -

Yep! They are horse treats. I hardly ever eat those mints! But the horses. ...they love them. Whenever I give a horse who had never had one for the first time their eyes light up as soon as they bite it.
Awww! That makes me smile!
Also, sorry you had to cancel your plans...hope your niece feels better!0 -
Eh, no need to ruin perfectly good frosting with brownies.
If you want to try it, take a large can of black beans (15 oz, I think? can't remember the conversion offhand), drain and rinse them and the can really well, then put them back in the can, fill the remaining space with water up to the top of the can, then puree the beans and water well in a blender. Throw those in with a package of brownie mix and bake as directed (they might take a little longer though.)
Thanks. I'll be doing that soon! (like tomorrow soon) And thank you for saying "blender" rather than "food processor" as I don't own one of the latter.
The cool whip/marshmallow pseudo-salads will probably have to wait until the SO is home to help me eat them but brownies will keep a little better... moderation, y'know0 -

Old Navy is having a super sale on their workout clothes today - like 40% off with another 35% off if you use their special code ('COOL' I think, it says it on the front page)...

Y'all are going to keep talking about quest bars until I try them. No coconut cashew for me though... allergic to coconut.
I have no desire to try that one either.....oddly, I used to be allergic to coconut when I was a kid, but am not anymore and am now allergic to flaxseed instead......0 -

I love Hugh Laurie. You should watch House. I never knew he sang. Interesting. I think he is cute too
I just checked and it is on my to watch list!
Yeah, I saw him with Terry Hacher from Desperate Housewives, and the guy that played Mike on that show.....and a few others I did not know so I can't remember....they were playing at the casino here and my late best friend took me for my birthday like four years ago!0 -
Are you throwing pureed black beans into a chocolate cake mix or a brownie mix? And what kind of quantity?
I don't actually have "macros" as such, I just try to hit 90 grams of protein a day. The rest is dictated more by IBS than anything else. Says the woman currently eating leftover Duncan Hines frosting out of the tub... with an ice cream bar stick.
Maybe I should save some for my healthy, protein-packed brownies?
Just reading this gave me goosebumps! I CANNOT stand touching any kind of unfinished wood....I sadly cannot enjoy any kind of Popsicle or ice cream on a stick0 -
spacequiztime wrote: »I ate the cheddar and sour cream chips just cause.
These chips were actually edible. The flavor was a lot more mild than the salt and vinegar chips.
I would say give them a shot if you're hankerin' for some quick protein and don't want something sweet.
On the back of the bag, it warns people not to eat them in diets less than 400 calories a day without medical supervision. Barring something like 6 / 1 fasting, I have no idea how or why someone would even try a diet like that.
I'm sorry that you had to postpone your trip @pofoster ! I hope your niece feels better soon. A trip to New York sounds so amazing.
I did not think the S&V ones were strong enough......0 -

Do they just swallow them whole? Or do they chew them? I never would have guessed horses would like mints!0 -

Ohh, sorry it affected you so strongly!
I can't stand the taste of them. I wish they didn't come at the end of the bar, that kind of spoils it. Probably why I mostly stick to drumstick-type cones. But this was a PC Blue Menu kefir bar... love kefir.
The other taste that bothers me is the metallic taste from metal water bottles. I prefer plastic, even if it leeches all kinds of evil chemicals into my water.0 -
Confession: I was bored and decided to watch Bridezillas on Netflix...I'm obsessed!!!!! (Runs and hides

Don't be sorry! Most people laugh.....my family has been known to chase me around with one, lol. It can get kinda funny.....whenever there is food on a stick, someone here knows to remove it for me before I can eat it.
It is sad though cuz there are so many yummy things on a stick I can't eat!0 -

ugh, seriously thinking on using a waist trainer (need a top rated one that covers back fat as my back does curve in at the bottom)0

Just read about the man killing Cecil the lion. My heart is broken.
I really hope he goes to prison for this. Lions are such beautiful animals!

I know, I am beyond disgusted!
That is also not the only animal he has done that too, he has a whole album of photos of animals he has killed. Pathetic waste of human skin!!0 -

Well, I held out but we had pizza today at work for completeing a survey for the hospital. I did have some salad with it and two pieces of pizza. It looks like I can fit it in my day, but I may have to do a bit more walking. Pretty good for me, I didn't completely wreck the day.
Sounds like an awesome day! What's everyone's favorite pizza?
Mine is either plain cheese, pizza with cheeseburger, sausage, & mushrooms, or pineapple pizza.0 -
that was @pofoster21
i'm working really hard to be honest in what my expectations are, as well as being fully open with my personality issues. he's been really responsive and understanding. and also really open about his issues too. which is nice to finally have someone i feel that i can talk to and not have to worry about being yelled at in response.
post date update:
last night mr jaye invited me over for homemade gluten free pizza. i thought it was pretty sweet. the gesture, not the pizza, although the pizza was good! lol
also, i wish your son the absolute best! that's gotta be so scary, but i know you're strong and will help him fight through anything. and yay! for the SO being supportive of you, that's great!
Thank you. Your sweetie sounds like a good guy and as a long-time GF person I am happy he can cook that for you. Daughter and I tried a new restaurant today that is vegan and gluten-free. It is the one place I can order anything on the menu and not worry that I'll get sick. I have not had that option in so long I can't remember when.

My grandma made it at Thanksgiving. She called it Watergate Salad.
Speaking of cherry pie filling - has anyone tried the dessert where you substitute all the liquid ingredients in chocolate cake with a can of cherry pie filling? This is relevant to my interests.
My mom used to make a dark chocolate cake. Bake in a rectangle pan. Cook a bit (I don't know if all the way or not?) then put a can of cherry pie filling on it, then put whipped cream (or in her case probably cool-whip) over the top of all of that. The pan kept everything in place. It has been many years since I learned that I can't have the gluten or the egg or the dairy... but I remember it as being rich and tastey.

CONFESSION #1
I've also been logging on the MFP site(360 days straight as of today) but not logging my food most of the time. Since Feb I've put on about 12 lbs and have only recently started logging my food and getting serious about getting this weight off. In the past 2 weeks I've lost 6 lbs and several inches.
CONFESSION #2
I've followed this thread since day 1, missing some days occasionally, but usually going back to catch past posts. This month, since trying harder to lose this weight I've been behind a lot. I just got caught up today, by skipping some of the pages in early July.
Welcome!0 -

If you can manage to keep it to a reasonable portion, the black bean brownies etc are actually pretty doable and have passable macros for most people, if you care - I used to make them on 1200/day all the time and eat them for breakfast, haha. Depends on the mix you buy, obviously, but still.
Mix the pumpkin one with spice cake or similar.
I am normally a pretty big baking snob with everything from scratch and best-quality and all that nonsense, but it goes out the window if I just want to eat something sweet and not share it with anyone. I'm also the queen of making myself one single cookie. Just one. In the toaster oven.
I'll have to try black bean brownies sometime. I did try the Chocolate Katie recipe for Cookie Dough Hummus & it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
The Angel Food cake & pineapple sounds good too.0
