Yay @midwesterner85 congratulations!
Going back to the 2 at one pc situation, I technically work on 2 pcs in my job, and when I was studying I had a 3rd pc set up - granted that was a personal laptop, but had it set up with two monitors. Was awesome.
Almost didn't go out this morning. Had a bit of churning and gurgling in my tummy all night. But went out because my new philosophy is you only regret the run you don't do. Plan was for 5k. It was really warm this morning, 18 degrees (64f) and give. Its supposed to be winter on Saturday thats warm! The gurgling was still happening and about half a km I felt the need to go bathroom. Stubbornly I kept going - now thats a great way to activate your gluteus, run 5k while holding off the bathroom! I've been taking iron supplements and stool softener cause otherwise the iron blocks me up. But I think i may have accidentally taken 2 yesterday - one in the morning and one at night. I'm still trying to make it a habit and forgot the night before. Sigh. Made it home though so whew! And made a good pace despite the temperature.
Sitting here typing that all out and it starts raining! Where was that an hr ago!
Up until a few years ago, we used a reporting software with a plug-in to Excel 2003. Instead of using Excel 2003 on my newer PC, I would remote desktop in to an old PC at the same location as the reporting software and run Excel 2003 on that. It was still slow and it sucked.2 -
Had to do 2 runs today because I skipped it yesterday. Luckily neither was particularly long. It's hot and humid, but I survived. I'm remembering water and figuring out my fueling so there's that.
Also, I ran in just my sports bra and running shorts for the first time ever today. I've always been too self conscious to do it. But, it's hot and it's silly of me to care one bit what some random stranger thinks about my appearance while I'm running. So, I did it. It felt a little weird and I was self conscious, but air on skin feels great when you're dripping sweat! I'll get over it by the end of the summer, I'm sure.

I had dh take me for another walk today and used one crutch this time. My gait felt pretty good, we’ll see how grumpy everything is tomorrow. If it’s not horrible, I think I’ll add some regular walking, bet I can entice dd to do it with me too. Dh was concerned about my safety and suggested I carry a gun. Ya that’s a hard no. If I feel that unsafe I’ll walk elsewhere or stick to the tm. I did concede and agreed to pepper spray and this cool little taser I’ve wanted for sometime and couldn’t find after passing one similar up at an expo. So, ya, I wanna taser someone. Repeatedly. Until they wet themselves. Got dd some spray too.
I also made it 15 minutes on the stationary bike before the first twinge of hip pain. I don’t think that’s an improvement, merely predictable. I should journal this stuff so I’m not guessing at my weekly progress.
Some of those work conditions sound horrible.7 -

I took a rest day yesterday, which felt good after 2+ weeks without a complete day off. I only felt minorly guilty because the weather was pretty nice, but I managed to let that go and enjoyed graduation festivities and a visiting a couple of breweries. Today's weather was not good, but I managed an early run before it started to rain. There was a pretty stiff breeze that was to my side the whole time out and back but at least I wasn't running into it. Not long after I got back to the house, it started to rain and kept up for much of the day. Tomorrow is my last day here and hopefully I'll get one last short run in.6 -

During the 1st km, I could literally feel my bones and muscles and lung capacity expand and relax. Man, it felt good to be running. The rest of the run was uneventful, besides hordes of dancing old ladies and a strange niggle in my left knee. The latter was probably nothing.
Some kind of celebration or festival out your way?
Just a regular day in China. (Look up "square dancing China" if you're interested, I'm told it doesn't happen anywhere else )@midwesterner85 - Congratulations!!
Also a shout out to our friend @BeeerRunner who finished her first ultra (56k) on Saturday!!
@noblsheep - that business trip sounds brutal! We used to spend long hours when we traveled but nothing like that and it always included going out for food and drinks (sometimes more drink than food). Glad you were able to get a run in and work off some of that stress! What kind of work do you do?
I do the writing/content aspect of events (speeches, press releases, interviews, all the actual words that appear in videos and presentations, yada yada yada), which means we're always on a near impossible deadline when the big day nears. It's kind of a fun job since no two events are alike, and we get to go to a bunch of interesting places, but yeah the schedule is not for the faint of heart.6 -

Ah! Well that does not happen in my town, cannot speak much beyond that. It is a great idea or at least sounds like one. Saw some hits about Bejing not being happy about it and trying to regulate it. I suspect that was ineffective. But my view from here is very limited.
If my 30 seconds off Googling paid off...
"Square Dancing" in America means something a little different. Seems "Square Dance" in Chine refers to the PLACE of the dancing (in the public square) where here in America, "Square Dance" is a specific style of dance normally done to Country-Western music often with a barn or cowboy/girl theme.

It's a learning process. Before I was seriously running, I thought those asymmetric water bottles looked dorky, I never wanted to wear a sleeveless shirt, and I really preferred crew length socks.
Sunday I went out running quarter length socks and a singlet, with a couple of those dorky water bottles in a belt. Practical trumps stylish, as it also does with the issue of shoe colors.

Warm and humid today. Started off at a nice slow pace -- saw a robin on the road ahead of me and when it started running it was putting more distance between us. But, as per usual, lacked discipline and picked up the pace throughout the run.

Today I got to run 3.88 miles around my home lake. It was cool and a little humid and windy but it felt great to be out and about. I’ve missed running first thing in the morning - it’s a great way to start the day off feeling like you’ve accomplished something. I still have a lot of work to do rebuilding my endurance, but I feel like I’m on the right path.
Yesterday I went ahead and signed up for the Twin Cities Marathon 10 Mile. I got a guaranteed entry for signing up for three of TCM's other races this year, one of those being the 10K the day before the 10 Mile. I've been waffling on whether I want to try a double-header but decided to go for it.
I'm hoping to make it to strength class tonight - May has been a bit of a bust for strength as well as running, although I've made it to two classes every week except for the week I was sick and dealing with peak hip and knee pain. I'd really like to get that back up to three classes a week, so we'll see. That said, I've been crushing my mobility and moderate cardio goals this month, so that feels pretty great.

Breezy and cool run this morning with a few sprinkles. I lazed around in bed not wanting to run, but the promise of going out to breakfast at a great diner later finally got me moving.
Reached goal for the 100-mile club for this month. I may just have one more short run this month so won't add too many more miles to that. I will need to do some calculations for June goals.5 -

^^^^ Yes, this. Just the other day I was pondering on the fact that I now go out and run without batting an eyelid in stuff I wouldn't have been seen dead in a couple of years ago.
I repeated last week's 10km run along the river trail this morning. This distance is still hard work for me, only the 2nd time I've gone that far since my injury, but I signed up for a 10k race on June 15th and decided I needed to get a run of that distance in every week for the few weeks before it. Last week (first time I'd gone that far this year) it took me 1 hour 17 minutes 30something seconds. Note: I'm run-walking all my runs now, varying the interval lengths depending on distances, and I'm really liking the system... my times are very similar to when I straight ran them, difference being I can walk afterwards and the next day! I was a little concerned because the race has a cut-off time of 1 hour 15 minutes and I wasn't sure I could make that. This morning, I ran the exact same 10km route in 1 hour 11 minutes 30something seconds. 6 minutes less than last week, and a 10km PR too! Ok, think I can stop worrying about not making the cull then, especially when race adrenaline is factored in. Now I just need to see if I can swap a few morning training runs for evening ones, the race is at 9.30pm whereas I usually run at 8am...
Oh and I passed goal for this month too, and still have another (short) run planned for Thursday before the month finishes. June starts with a 4.22km charity race on the 2nd :-)
May goal: 55km Run so far: 67.2km7 -
Oy. I have fallen behind on the thread again, lol.
Not going to reach goal this month, a stupid bug earlier knocked me out for a number of days, plus I had the Derby trip at the beginning of the month. Blah.
However! I did run 7 miles yesterday, which is the longest distance I've run since my stress reaction injury in the fall. Woohoo! I also finally picked and scheduled out my marathon training plan for the Marine Corps Marathon - I've decided to go with Hal Higdon Novice 1. My last 2 attempts to get to my 1st full marathon, both of which ended in injury, I went w/either a way too advanced plan (in 2017), and a probably overly complicated & also probably too advanced (included speedwork) plan (in 2018). I think I need to really just keep it simple, basic, and beginner, lol, even though I've been running for years. Fingers crossed I make it this year!

Anyone have recommendations for favorite hydration packs/vests that have pockets/storage on the front? I got a little bit of mold in the tube of mine and I'm using it as an excuse to buy a new one, since I have regretted since day 1 that I did not get one with pockets/storage on the front
And yes, I know I need to store the bladder/tube in the freezer, I think my subconscious was also looking for an excuse to buy a new one, lol1 -

Bull frog was always one of my favorites. I doubt you’d get 6 hours out of one application unless you went with a cream/lotion. A higher spf might leave enough residue to get you 6 hours with one application a or good ol’ zinc oxide type may resist the sweat and elements. They tend to be hot in my opinion. Perhaps a shirt, like @PastorVincent suggested. I looked at rash shirts and the like, not sure if running in them is a good idea. Maybe check out some tri wear?
Personally I use the spray sun block. If you could carry it... you can reapply.
I found this shirt2 -

I got this Nathan 4L vest a couple of months ago and have only used it for carrying stuff to and from the gym so far - the front pockets are great for a phone, handful of credit cards, key, and AirPod case, and the back has enough room for a light change of clothes and small towel. I haven't actually used it with the bladder since I've only been running short distances and it hasn't gotten hot here yet. But the pockets are great!2 -

part 1) i have a miracol. 2L bladder, another holder for a water bottle up front. pockets on front, side, and big pocket in back
part 2) i don't know that about the bladder, i guess i'll rewash and put it in the freezer when i get home1
