Does this make sense?
BMR=1889 TDEE 1889 x 1,75=3305(very active) minus 15% is 2809 I'm sorry to bombard the board, but the thought of eating 2800 cals scares the heck out of me! I'm 5'10, 268, and very active. How do you eat this much?! Thank you so much for all of your wonderful thoughts and advice to each other. It's just mind bending.

I am a unique and precious snowflake....
 Sooooo a question to all my eat more to weigh less buddies. This one is a toughy (I think) but maybe you all won't think so. I'm F, 32, 5'1", 200lbs. I've calculated my BMR to be between 1550-1650cals and my TDEE (sedentary) -15% is ~1850. No problems with the calcs, no problems understanding the science behind it.…

Eating more is difficult!
Finding things that are CHEAP and HEALTHY to eat constantly. I am also seeing that I am always over my sodium and my sugar intake. My sugar is from fruits usually so that should be alright, right? Has anyone else also had this problem. Would anyone mind looking at my diary to tell me if I am at least eating somewhat…

Runners eating more
Hey! Any runners on here that are training for a half or a full marathon? How do you keep up with your eating on your long run days? I trained and completed a half marathon at the end of March. I'm thinking about doing another half sometime but I'm just remembering how hard it was to eat back all those calories. Also, I…

Wanting to see if I am doing this right..
Im fairly new to MFP, but I am a weight watchers member and have been using this site as a way to compare back to my Points and help me to get another perspective on my food intake. Anyways, I have been struggling over the past few months with weight loss. Overall I have lost about 9 pounds in about 10 weeks, which looks…

Body Weight Training
ATM, I am not able to go to the gym and the heaviest weights I have are 5lbs. I am unable to purchase anything or join a gym until I receive my tax return. I would like suggestions on if body weight training is effective and any routines for beginners? I am a novice and really haven't don't any sort of weight training in…

Double Check my math, thoughts on activity level?
Hi everybody, I used fitnessfrog to calculate my TDEE at a moderate activity level and got a TDEE of 2262 calories. (I'm 5'9, 139lbs, with a small frame, trying to firm things up all over.) So with the 15% cut this becomes 1924 calories for my workout days, yes? Do I add back the 15% on non-workout days to get 2262? That's…

Another NSV...those who need more proof that eating more wor
Just a few days ago I posted that I had lost 2 pounds since beginning this "eat more, weight less" theory of losing weight. Since someone here had mentioned tracking your weight every day to get a sense of your gains/losses to find a pattern, I've been tracking my weight every day. So, according to my scale, I gained those…

changed setting...ignore MFP that I will lose 0?
OK I just changed my settings- my TDEE minus 15% is 1900. I am trying this after eating 1200 for two months and not losing...MFP says I will lose 0.0 pounds. Scary!! However I guess what I was doing (starving) doesn't work for me either so I need some ENCOURAGEMENT to try this!

Jumping In
Well, I'm getting on the Eat More bandwagon. After trying and failing to budge the scale for ... gosh....I think six months while "doing everything right" it's time to accept that conventional wisdom isn't right. For me. I've come to this conclusion slowly, and with the help of my Bodymedia Fit and reading the threads…

Eating when asleep..
A weight gain of 2.4 kilos overnight! Thats like 5.29 pounds. So logically I must be going into the kitchen at night and eating 18, 515 calories worth of food while still alseep! (as it takes 3500 calories excess to build one pound of fat 5.29 x 3500=18 ,515) Ahh well no that didnt happen. So what could have happened? Not…

Curious about Lifting Weights
Hi all, I don't consider myself to be someone who lifts weights - I do take part in a class 2 times a week for an hour. The class incorporates weights and the max I use is 3.5kg but mostly 2kg. Its alot of reps taking in both upper & lower body followed by abs & some yoga. I remember from when I was part of our local gym…

So the scale doesn't matter?
So do I change my TDEE based on what the scale says? If so, how often do I do so?

What do you measure...?
I'm going to try and dig out a measuring tape this evening and measure myself so I can track inches as well as pounds (incidentally, I'm down 3 lbs since I started "stuffing myself" three days ago... bizarre and amazing). Anyway, what all should I measure?

Re: NROLFW and Other Exercise
I was gonna dive right into NROLFW, but I have a 5K mud run obstacle course thing at the end of this month. Now, it's not some big competitive thing. I think it is mostly going to be a total blast. But, I do need to be able to get through it without dying, so I have been doing a C25K kind of thing where I'm just steadily…

New Here!
I'm brand new to eating more to weigh less. I've been stalled out for months at a 1200 net calorie diet because that was what MFP told me I needed to be eating. Dumb dumb dumb! My goal is to eat at my full TDEE for a few weeks to restore my metabolism, which is 2082 before exercise calories (includes an additional…

Net Carbs?

Share your daily menus?
So I just upped my calories yesterday after spending hours going through all the information in this group. I am going from 1200 calories a day to around 1700. My BMR is about 1500. I am struggling on how to get all my calories in with the right ratios. I was hoping you could share some daily meal ideas! Thanks so much!

Any other Vegetarians here?
Even adding whey protein a couple of times a day, I am not really getting close to the 170 g I need to be eating (although doing much better than the 30g I was squeezing in back in my 1200 cal days).

It's working for me!
I've been stuck on a plateau for a year now! I upped my calories over a month ago and today when I weighed I was down 1.5 pounds! I'm so excited! I've been eating like 1800 or more a day and exercising too but it's finally working! I swear I've tried everything but this upping your calories really works! I'm praying I can…

Tell me about your supplements......
I was reading with interest the discussion on the "Upping Cals, what to expect" thread regarding supplements that you find beneficial. NROLFW at home?
Hi :) I love eating more!! I had a really indulgent weekend and am down to my lowest weight :) I am trying to put together a workout schedule that incorporates strength training.
