My Weight Goal & Incentive

Yay! 30 lbs gone!
After what seemed like a looong plateau, the past two days the scale moved. I’m down 30 lbs! Lowest weight in 11 years. A big help has been MFP, where I track pretty much everything, and use to plan my foods. Time to set the next goal!

2 lbs from final goal weight!!!
36. 5’6. Highest weight was 196 before I decided to do something about it. Current weight is 137. So glad to finally be back closer to my pre babies weight. I went from 196 to 152 in about 4 months which was probably a bit to fast but I maintained that for about 3 years before starting to scoot back up to 161 lbs 5months…

I swallowed myself that’s what a friend who saw me at my biggest weight said to me. I respected it!
I worked really hard lost 30 pds! Wasn’t where I wanted to be but about 10pds away. Covid hit and I gained 60 pds. I’m so frustrated because how did I let myself go like that. Thankfully, I have a workout group that has gotten me back together! I’m down 40 pds but it’s not the same YAY! feeling I felt last time because if…

small improvements really do add up - fitness edition
a few years ago, injury and reinjury kept me from most exercise. when i had slight improvements, i'd have pain, swelling and other issues. but over the last few years, i went from walking to riding an exercise bike on low resistance - just a few minutes, then a couple more. my resting heart rate got lower. my legs slowly…

The Rewards of Losing Weight
My lovely wife of 44.6 years has stuck by my side as I have gone from 427lbs. down to my current weight of 288. She said she had a reward for me. It was one chocolate chip peanut butter cookie. I only ate one of them cuz that's all she gave me. But, it was at least 6 inches in diameter. I ate it all! Groovy. :D

Most recent update for me
Another update to my journey that started last year in May 2023. I have now lost 30% of my body weight. I know I weighed more than 200lbs at one point, but the last "weigh in" at the doctor's office was 194 before I started refusing to let them weigh me, so I'll go with that. 1am now down to 138, and am currently stuck in…

Lost 167 pounds naturally (no surgery) in 3 years! (5’9 31 year old female)
(No I’m not flipping the bird) Hey there! I’m Ashley! I’m 31 and I’m a Boston gal who lives near Charleston SC. I started my weight loss journey (for real this time) 3 years ago after my father passed from CHF and my mother got sick with lymphoma (she unfortunately passed a year later.) I was only in my late 20s and was…

tying my hoodie sleeves
Back when I was young and skinny I used to wear my hoodie around my waist with the sleeves knotted in front. As I gained weight I switched to either a half square knot which needed constant tightening, or stuffing the sleeves in my pockets. I tied them in a square knot last week for the first time in years! Squeee!

YOUR LOSS EQUALS GAINS
Being slim all my life I never thought I’d be over weight one day and pick up some very unhealthy habits. Drinking was also a factor. When enough was enough I did keto for 6/8 months. Gradually adding in cardio and resistance training. I lost 60lbs in 9 months and hope it’s motivating enough for you all to reach your…

I've been working at losing weight, I have dropped 13kg so far. From 18 stone 10lb down to 16stone 9lb so far. I am just doing weight training and eating healthy, on a very low carb diet. Plenty of fish and chicken for protein though. Long term I want to get to 85kg.

Celebrating 1 year of Maintenance
I can't believe it's been a year already and it's honestly been the best year of my life I started my journey at 388 pounds at age 40. Everything hurt. I would get winded showering. In Feb.2022 I decided to make a change. I had an appointment with my Doctor to look into weight loss surgery but I decided to give it one more…

Afib and weight loss
Last August, I was diagnosed with Afib. Everyone's different, but the way it affected me was that my heart beat way too fast for minor effort. At the top of a flight of stairs, I'd be bent over, hands on my knees, chest heaving as if I'd just run a fast 100-yard dash. This was not how I wanted to live the rest of my life.…

7 freaking years...
Morning everyone! I wanted to share my success and the long road behind it. The image below was a wake-up call for me. I was unaware of how much weight I had gained and was dealing with type 2 diabetes and other health issues. I knew that a change had to happen. Initially, like many others, I felt frustrated and…

26lbs gone in 11wks
At 182lbs I thought work out people were CRAZY. Truth: I was insecure. Secretly I wanted to be them but making fun of them made me feel better about myself. That's hard to admit. 🙈 Fast forward I lost 26 lbs. I knew AFTER focusing on nutrition the next habit for sustainability was getting active. I started dance classes to…
