New body, new hobby
I feel like most of last year, weight loss was my hobby. Counting calories, posting and reading in these forums, learning about exercise, all that stuff. Well now I'm in maintenance. Have been for a couple of months, and it's going well. So, new hobby time. I got myself a wood lathe for Christmas, and I'm trying my hand…

Is it bad to burn close to 900 hundred calories a day and eat only all your calories at dinner time. I am training for a marathon. I eat like small snack bars during the day like clif bars. I lift weights and run in the morning. I run for 20 min and burn 300 calories running at a pace of 8.0. I go back at around 5 and run…

Gaining weight after boot camp?
Hi, I lost about 20-25 pounds during boot camp just recently 160 to 135 and after about 2 weeks of being out and in a school, I am weighing 138-140? I know it's not much, and I am not TOO worried but I was just wanting to clear the air... I started weight training again and eating my weight in protein per grams and more…

MFP portion sizes
Hi all! I'm using MFP because I wanted to work out if I'm eating enough protein and then I kind of got sucked in. My weight's been stable since I was 16 at 65 kg +/- 2. I've never been on a diet and don't plan to, but following MFP it looks like I'm eating too much. The app tells me I'm consuming 2500-700 per day. Can that…

Bingeing or intuitive eating?
I would love help or advice from anyone who's trying to quit dieting and eat like a normal healthy person. I've always been chubby rather than fat, and maybe because of this I've struggled with restrictive dieting/binge-eating since I was a teenager. I joined MFP just before Christmas and was able to lose 10lb over a…

Am I active enough?
I just hit my weight loss goal this week (I am now 120lbs, at 5ft5 and 18 years old). I want to increase my calorie intake but I don't have the time to exercise for 60 minutes per day nor the ability to exercise rigorously. I am trying to figure out my activity level to understand what would be a reasonable caloric intake…

Still so freakin' confused.
I've posted a few topics relating, and I've done some searching in the forums, but I must be slow because I'm still confused/nervous! My entire weight loss journey over the past year I have had my MFP settings set at sedentary, and ate back exercise calories. Now that I am at a lower weight ( I am 5'2, F, 21yrs old, &…

I just want other people's opinions.
I am eighteen years old, 5'6" and my weight fluctuates from 115-120. I want to maintain this weight. I am not a perfect "clean eater." I eat processed foods, treats, sugary stuff. I have never gone over my allotted calories though, and if I do, I burn it off. I put myself at 1650. I do not count my macros because I don't…

Bad! Bad MFP user!
So I've been doing really well getting enough exercise and staying within my calorie range and then.... Yesterday happened. It's like I cracked - I ordered a small pizza with pepperoni and sausage - you know the kind. Drippy... chewy... shiny? Anyway - I ate it like it was my job. Today I'm feeling what you can probably…

What's your one tip for maintainig?
I am almost half way to my goal (although I may opt to lose another 5 lbs when I get there, depending on how I feel), but I find myself worrying about gaining it back afterwards. I'm doing this the right way, as a lifestyle change, but I honestly don't want to have to log calories for the rest of my life. Do you still log…

How did you change from MFP way to TDEE method?
I need to switch to maintenance, but I'm finding it awfully hard with my MFP settings set to "sedentary" to run myself ragged and burn myself out trying to exercise like crazy to eat more day-to-day. SO, I decided I want to swap my way of doing things from adding calories back, to having them accounted for - so the TDEE…

Craving Fried Food
I'm sure I'm not alone on this one, but am curious how many people get that overwhelming desire to eat fried foods? If so, what do you do to kill the urge? I usually get the urge when passing by a store that is frying chicken, or when walking through the deli of the local supermarket. I try to find an alternative food…

Antidepressants and weight gain
Since I have started antidepressants 5 days ago I have started enjoying food a lot more and using it as a 'pick me up'. It may seem like the answer to this situation would be to just not overeat but it has become a lot more enjoyable yet also impulsive and mindless. Has anyone else who has gone on antidepressants…

Knowing I'm eating the right amount, new to lifting.

Hey guys, I am 21 years old and at the moment I am trying to reduce body fat but increase my muscle mass. I go to the gym everyday doing strength training and cardio most days too. I'm not sure if 2000 calories is a bit too much if I am trying to reduce fat, I am 19% body fat at the moment which I am pretty happy with but…

I ate way more than I should have today
I ate more today than I have in 6 years. I had 3500 calories today. ( been very depressed, was hungry so I ate) will I gain a pound from one day of over eating?

is this still considered maintaining?
There are days that I go from 114lbs one day to 120lbs by the next, and then to 116, where sometimes I'll stay at that weight for a few days. Those crazy differences, are they really that crazy after all? Is this a normal weight fluctuation? I don't change my calorie intake or exercise levels at all when this is happening.

Pregnant - what should I set my calorie goal to?
I just found out that I'm pregnant, and I want to track my foods to ensure I'm eating a healthy and reasonable diet. Should I edit my goal to "maintaining weight", even though there is no way I will maintain my current weight over the course of the next few months?

How does one ACCURATELY determine their activity level?
Ive always "erred" on the cautious side of calculating activity levels..I sit at a desk most of the day..some gettig up and walking when needed.
