Need tips on staying socially active and eating at restaurants
Hi all, People in my city is allowed to have social events (finally) after 4 months of lockdown. So now i'm getting gathering invitations, wedding birthdays, etc. I really wanna go. How do you handle the food situation in such events? Do you just not eat? Is it polite to do so? Or do you eat only the protein and leave the…

Off the wagon / On the wagon
I spent a nice weekend upstate New York - and different to the last four months I had some generous helpings of Gin cocktails, Red Wine, french fries and pasta. In the past, I was always paranoid that such an event would totally throw me off course and I would simply go back to my old habits. This time was different, and…

What happens when you have A Bad Day/go over your calories-
Friday, I went to spend a few days at a cabin on a lake. During those few days I didn't really track anything except my morning coffee, so I'd keep my streak and have something in my diary. The rest of the time? I just ate. A lot. Hot dogs, s'mores, pizza, hamburgers, a whole bag of chips + container of dip, candy, an…

Amazon Book Suggestions
I had to share this book suggestion which came up on amazon this morning. I’m torn between awe that someone has churned out five of these things, and irritation that Amazon has somehow tied it to those XXLs I used to order. Just goes to show, there’s a market for every niche.

Mental Health and Weight Loss: The Right Balance
I would like to explore the strategies that you are using to move forward in having healthy relationships with your body, with food and with the idea of "loosing" weight. One question that has really challenged me over the years is whether mental health factors link directly to how we create, establish, maintain and worry…

Losing weight as a woman of short stature
I’m 5’0 and I’m skinny fat, need to lose extra fat but I can only eat 1200 calories a day I do not have the time/ resources to do exercise that would actually burn calories (it’s harder because of my low-ish height and weight) Doesn’t help that I have a slow metabolism! I’m finding it hard to stay under/at my net calorie…

FitTrack smart scale? yay or nay?
OK, so this ad appeared on my phone and I'm falling for it. I already have a bioelectrical impedance scale from 2005 but it's not working atm (the battery terminals rusted and I'm procrastinating on cleaning them). That one never really seemed useful for anything but weight. And I'm not really too into weighing…

Extreme obesity and paper plates. Question for people in the USA
Sorry if this is not the correct board. I watch My 600lb Life - I know I should be ashamed but I find it entertaining. One thing that puzzles me is the number of people shown eating from paper plates using plastic knives and forks. It is not everyone but it is fairly frequent. Is this a common practice in the USA? In…

Anyone doing Pahla Bs 5-O?
Just wondering if anyone was using her plan for calorie allowance and how that was working for you? I just hate the idea of only losing 1/2 lb per week. But are age and lack of estrogen the problem she seems to think it is? Am I expecting too much from myself as a post-menopausal 63 year old? No need to be snarky, just…

How does your body drop 4 lbs overnight?

In the last two months I've lost 9 lbs, but the way I've lost them leaves me scratching my head and wishing I understood how this ol' body works! Here's what's been happening - I used to lose 1-2 lbs a week, and I was happy. That's…

Hiya, I've been wearing an activity tracker for a few weeks now and have noticed that my heart rate is quite low when I'm asleep, at an average of 44bpm. Back at it - accountability post!
Not new here. I lost 113-ish lbs several years ago … was within 5-10lbs of my goal weight before a cross-country move, job stress and a pandemic helped get me off track. No excuses as it was totally on me. I stopped tracking and logging and doing the things I know how to do that work. So … back at it while the gain is…

How daily weights & weight trending apps can be useful
There are a million threads about how often one “should” weigh oneself, and the answer is always “It depends.” And probably the thing it depends on the most may be your personality, because people react very differently to the scale fluctuations that 99.9% of us experience. What works best for me is daily weighing and a…

Well I did not stick with it at 62, going to get rid of this weight before I retire.
My retirement date is Sept 2023. Since I was 62 my life turned upside down with my son's divorce and other life happenings. I also started a new job that is very rewarding but stressful. I hope to have my 50-60 pounds gone before I retire. I love the outdoors and having a great time with my grandkids.

Food delivery services
Has anyone tried food delivery services? Not the ones for weight loss, but like Home Chef, Hellofresh, ect. What did you try, how do you like it? I'm not a cook, not into really trying to learn. But this sounds like a way to broaden my taste buds without buying a bunch of food, and spices.

The scales go down one week then up the next. Ive been roughly the same weight for months now. How can I get my head back…
