Interactive food swap app/website?
A year or two ago I used to use a website that would offer healthier alternatives if you entered a specific food. I thought it was Eat This, Not That but no longer see that as a feature (aside from an article or two with limited suggested swaps). Any suggestions for a tool that does this?

My maintenance calories is 1966 per day. Cutting that by 500 calories daily puts me back at 1466 which is roughly where I started. Yet, even though my net cal is averaging that amount, I'm still not losing the average pound per week and I've gained back the 10 lbs I originally lost. I was eating back most of my exercise…

Scientific study on the effects of insulin on weightloss
I've been curious about this topic a lot, since many WOE reference the effect of insulin on weight gain/loss. A few years ago I started attending a metabolic clinic where the doctors cited many new studies in nutrition science to support the fact that high levels of insulin (resulting from insulin resistance that has been…

Started Very Active Job - Balancing Weight Loss
Hello all and thanks for reading! I very recently went from a desk job for 25 years to a pretty active role where I’m on my feet and constantly walking, bending, reaching, etc. In just 4 hours yesterday, my FitBit recorded me having 7500 steps and burning almost 5000 calories. I’m probably 100lbs overweight right now and…

How do you take a maintenance break?
I feel the need to do this (mentally). I’ve been logging and restricting (and losing steadily) for almost 20 weeks and it’s going well. Lots of good habits which feel lifelong and a positive mindset. However, I read frequently about the benefit of taking a maintenance break every now and then. I like the idea of trying to…

Air Conditioning & Obesity
I read an article a year or so ago suggesting a possible link between air conditioning and obesity. It talked about how, in the days before central air and forced-air heat, the body's normal cycle was to bulk up when the weather started to get chilly in the fall (to provide an extra layer of fat insulation) and then to…
