How have YOU failed? These are as many of mine as I can think of at the moment: 1) Assumed that I must eat healthy food. 2) Do the same diet my wife is doing. 3) Meal replacement shakes 4) Pills - prescription and OTC 5) Eating very little food 6) Exercise the pounds away mentality 7) Picked a diet because a friend or…

Am I in the clear?
Drank and ate too much last night. About 3,500 calories and I usually consume an average of 2100/day to maintain, but I tend to eat less than that during the week so I can eat more on the weekends (hence the average). Had whiskey and a lot of chocolate last night. Got up and weighed myself this morning and I weigh exactly…

How do you celebrate without food?
Today, I got a raise and my boyfriend said I should get some ice cream or something to celebrate. However, I am trying to break the habit of always celebrating with food because I am an optimist and can always find something to be excited about. That lead us to a brainstorming session on how we can find other ways to…

Strength and repetitions used
As I get older I find that my body can’t handle heavy weights. I Have everted to a program of 40% cardio, 30% weight training and 40% yoga. For my weight training I am doing 15-20 reps per set with an effort to stay closer to 20. I find myself enjoying this approach more but I am wondering will I gradually lose strength…

Help with calorie counting diets.
I just started trying to lose weight. I started last week at 234 and I am a 5ft 3 in female. I was in the Army but have been out for 10 years. I steadily gained weight until I got to where I am now. I bought low calorie foods and have been keeping track. My problem is this. Even though I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks per day, I…

Gained 10 pounds after 4 days of post-dinner snacking???
I've been in a calorie deficit for almost a year now and for the most part, I've been really good at sticking to it. Prior to this week, my weight loss has been steady as binge-eating has never been an issue of mine. This week, however, has been especially challenging as I've developed intense cravings for sweet and salty…

Broken Fibula
I fell down the stairs and broke my fibula 9 days ago. I've still been weighing myself daily with a leg cast on. My weight has been almost stagnant since the injury happened though. I'm only down one pound. My question is, could the pain and swelling be causing me retain weight? I went from 1200 calories a day & walking…

Earned calories are way too much - how to adjust?
47yo F SW:219 (8/2/20) CW: 211 I lost 25 pounds 3 years ago eating around 1500-1600 calories most days, up to 1900-2000 on workout days. Gained it back so I'm here to do it again. I'm walking more these days (17k step average) because gyms in NY are still closed and I'm still eating in the same calorie range and losing (8…

Modifying exercises for seniors
Hello! I started a food and exercise journal due to the need to lose inches and weight. Many years ago I was active as a marathon runner-having done many shorter races as well for years. Due to the beginning of knee and hip issues running so many miles, I resorted to walking instead. I was also active in the gym to keep…

After years and years of yoyo-ing on everything in life, I'm wondering if I even care anymore. Making some changes to my diet - input welcome/appreciated
Hey all :) So my wife and I have concluded after 15 months we are kind of burned out on the diets. I've gained a few lbs back, she is more or less holding on to her low but wavering. We've lost ~ 80 and ~ 70 pounds respectively. Our diets have lately entailed 500 calorie deficits and have always included 45-60 minute…

Steps not accurate
Is there a way to edit your steps? The app isn’t updating I guess, my Apple Watch says I did over 10,000 and the fit app says over 8k?!! It’s frustrating when I joined a step challenge, now I’m not getting credit for my success!

After some thoughts on Magnesium. Its made out to be a wonder mineral, helping with everything from Anxiety, to sleep to testosterone level to muscle soreness.
