90 days and 30lbs later
I'm about 3lbs short of half way so I thought pictures were needed. :D I LIKE exercising now. I miss it if I have to skip it. I never thought I'd say that. In just 3 months I've changed my thinking. I REMEMBER this girl who only had one plate at a buffet and people laughed because of it. I remember skipping the sweets or…

Progress pictures over the last 6 years
My weight loss has been almost a life-long journey, and I'm only 21. It started when I was around 190 pounds at the age of 15. I decided on a whim to join the track and field cross country team in high school, dropped that after a couple months but continued to run. Here are some progress pictures. I lost around 45 pounds…

i ran for 5 minutes solid!
i know, not a big deal to a lot of people, but for me, this was a HUGE accomplishment! i started up c25k last spring and pretty much hit a road block when i had to run for 5 minutes. i never could make it and got really frustrated, and between that and the summer weather...i gave it up. but i've been doing a ton of classes…

Because I love to share my success! (90 lbs gone!)
After my mom's massive heart attack death at the age of 47 in 2005, I decided to get serious about losing weight. From early 2006 to early 2010, I have lost 90 pounds. Of course, I had two more kids in there, but for the most part, I averaged a 5 pound per month loss. Just in case you wonder what I did...I slowly added in…

SUCCESS, I finished my first 5k!

I was running outside before and had set my goal not to finish last.. OK well really I wanted 35min, which would have bested my usualy…

Amazed
Did you think when you started your weight loss journey what you would uncover? To me it's like an archeological dig. Every few days I uncover more and more of myself mentally and physically. I am down from the start of MFP 32 or 33 lbs but overall I am down 180 lbs over the last 2 years. I have never fallen off the wagon…

When People Start to Notice
Yes, it was very exciting when my mother-in-law first started mentioning that she was noticing my weight loss in the early stages, but it becomes even more gratifying when someone NOT related to you notices and compliments you on it. The other day one of my professors pulled me aside and asked me if he could ask me a…

New Jeans (a tiny success)
I'm wearing US size 8 jeans.... for the first time in my adult life. There's no muffin top, I can bend and stretch, I have a hot pad tucked into the waistband because of low back cramps (so there's a little room in the waist!) They're still too snug in the thighs for me to feel comfortable wearing them out of the house,…

I actually played tennis this morning!
One of my goals / motivations for weight loss was to be able to play tennis again. Well - this morning I started lessons! It was a blast! I can still play, although rusty  But I was able to move and hit and run and Had A Blast! Still have some weight to go, but I am really happy about achieving this milestone! MFP…

100 days club
I'm not sure how, but I've managed to log in now for 110 days in a row and whilst it's not a success story fitness-wise, it does show commitment. The iPhone app really helps, of course! So, how many others are 100 days or more? Anyone on 200?

Today is the first time I turned to exercise instead of food
I had a rough day. My dad had a stroke three months ago and so I've been working part time at the family business so that I can help him come back to work (and to help the family, I know the shop really busy right now). I commute three hours three days a week. My dad started coming in part time last week, and he seemed to…

My Maintenance Pledge
My Maintenance Pledge I pledge: To not forget how long it took me to come to the decision to go on a diet, or how long it has taken me to lose the pounds I have lost to get where I am now. Slimmer, healthier, happier. I will strive to continue to eat as healthily as I can every day, while still enjoying my life and the…

Things I have discovered on MFP...
So this isn't really anything to do with a success, but I think learning new things about yourself is all part of the journey we are all on. Some things I have discovered about myself while on MFP: - I like asparagus. - I can run 2 miles at a reasonable pace only stopping to walk for very short periods. - I can pick up a…

Tattoos after weight loss?
Wondering for those of you who have tattoos how they were affected by your weight loss? The ones on my shoulders/lower back I'm not worried about but the one on my bikini line after weight gain, pregnancy, and not weight loss I am concerned may not take all those changes well...

Oh oh..
Ok.. so I just started, I've just completed day 4 and I have gained almost a pound.. yeesh! I have lead a very sedentary lifestyle up to now so MFP calculated my caloric intake to be about 1480 calories. Soooo.. I am anywhere between 1300 - 1500 WITH exercise each day.. each day I have burned about 200 - 250 calories. I…
