Maintaining a weight
How to maintain a weight?

Coming up on 5 years maintenance! :)
Quick thing. Maintenance is an interesting time. It can be a trial and error of sorts...because your goal weight may not end up being your goal after all. I reached my goal...and then got too thin...bony. I didn't feel right. SO worked to put a bit of meat on in a controlled way. Plus I am always experimenting with…

Treats and weight gain!?
Hi everyone, just wanted to know about your treat meal/days and weight gain I've been looking on the forums and I've been told as long as you stay under your calorie range, you won't gain weight On that note, I've been eating healthy and dieting for 3 months with no treats and I'm going crazy (always thinking of food ect)…

my experience with maintaining 6 months in
It's a challenge, certainly.... I think the worst part was the minor "bounce back" gain, which is apparently typical... I was down to 178, about 65 pounds over 8 months lost, which frankly was a bit too skinny, and went to maintenance.. I think the key is just overcoming the psychological fear of gaining. I gained about 5…

Boyfriend on maintenance - help!
My boyfriend has reached his goal weight, and is now on maintenance. But we're struggling to find clean(ish) high calorie foods to get him up to his target calories (2120) each day. Has anyone got any suggestions please? He can't eat peanut butter and hates cold pasta and bananas before anyone goes down that road!

Am I really moving over to maintenance?
My scale has been about a half a pound below my goal scale weight for the last week. I'm thrilled about that, but I still have work to do. After my 1/2 marathon on Saturday, I'm going to be diving into a strength training program in hopes of lowering my overall body fat some more. So, while I won't be aiming to lose…

Maintaining but!!!!!
I am maintaining my weight of 126-130 lbs. with out any problems but the problem is I'm getting bigger. My small tops are getting to small. I have been lifting weights 5-6 days a week since Feb. and have increased the weights and repetitions. And before anyone says anything I use a weight machine and it works for me. Now I…

New change with leaner body?
When I was young and skinny, I could often skip meals and not be that ravenous. As I got older, and heavier, I found I could push back meals for a few hours without feeling that hungry, although my stomach could get really, really empty and crampy. When I was on a calorie deficit when losing, though, I needed to eat…

So, Who's in Maintenance?
Loving the new sections  Just wondering who else is in maintenance, or getting ready to start making the transition? How long have you been in maintenance for? How are you finding it? I started transitioning this past spring and so far it's going ok-still trying to find my rhythm yet :)

Maintained for Seven Weeks
I have maintained my goal weight of under 200 pounds for seven weeks now. I have lost weight before and then gained it back so I consider this a major success. Every day is still a battle for me. I think maintenance is key. Lifelong maintenance is key. I am also still losing inches and gaining lean muscle so that's also…

Calories to maintain my weight?
I'm 18 years old, female, 5'9 and 131 pounds. I go on brisk walks every day as well as going to the gym later on in the day most days for weight lifting and sometimes more cardio. I consider myself lightly active. For the past two months I've been trying to maintain weight after purposefully gaining 7 pounds. I was a bit…

Have you been a Yo-Yo dieter. Change now!
I'm 54 years of age, and always had a weight problem through my life. I have lost considerable amounts of weight (over 10-13 stones) four times in my life time, and lots of other diets where I've lost 2/3 stones, and gained every pound back on. I must have lost myself in weight, twice over by now. It ridiculous isn't it!…

Psuedo-Maintenance
I have been here just over a year and very pleased with the results. I performed a couple of resets over the course of that time to make sure goals were correct and having quit smoking August 1st, introduced more gym work to keep weight gain down!!!! Over the last 8 weeks I have stayed away from the scales and worked on…

What did you do with your old clothes?
Before my weight-loss, I was a size XL-XXL. I stiill have some clothes as I progressed (i.e. large, medium, etc.) but the ones that are too big now, now that I've reached my goal weight, are just collecting dust. What have you done with your clothes? I donated a majority of my XL-XXL clothes but there's that little fear in…

Question for you other maintainers
Ok, so I've been maintaining for a few months now and really haven't seen much of a difference on the scale from week to week (that's the point of maintaining, right?). However, I'm finding that I am still losing inches, particularly in my waist. Since I was quite a bit heavier at one point, I do have some loose skin in…

Slimming when being on maintenance?
Hey everyone, I got fairly close to my goal weight (2kg off) some weeks ago and started finding it very hard to stick to 1200kcal net. I was thinking about moving on to maintenance but really wanted to lose those last 2 kg quickly. Result: I 'fell off the wagon' and gained weight. I am sure it will come off again but what…

How to stop losing weight?
Hello all! I'm almost to my goal of 200 lbs. I'm currently at 214 lbs, so I only have about a month left in my journey. I went from about 310 lbs to 214 since June 2nd. My biggest problem is gonna be maintaining my weight without losing anymore. I want to maintain 195-200. The reason i'm asking now is so that when the time…

What does Maintainence have to be so d@mn hard!
I've lost 100lbs! Cool right? But this whole maintenance thing is so difficult. I find myself doing more of a "cut and bulk" rather than staying at one even level. I guess I don't want to fall victim to the whole "yo-yo" dieting thing. Is it really that bad of a strategy though? I mean, I'm talking 5lbs "bulking" then…

Maintainers! How does my maintenance plan look to you?

Hungry now that I'm maintaining
I have been maintaining for about 3-4 weeks now. I decided to keep my exercise the same and I'm slowly increasing my calories. I'm now eating probably about 150 more calories per day than when I was losing, and planning to continue to increase. But oddly enough, as I increase my calories, I am hungrier and hungrier. I…
