Back again
I've been here before, lost 35lb. Then I changed jobs, and now I'm having to relearn how much I can eat because my old job was very physically demanding, and my new one is quite sedentary. Gained 5lb, so I'm back to tracking. So far so good

Lost momentum
After 3 years of constant logging and monitoring, I lost 45 lbs, which was honestly about 10lbs below my goal weight. People were saying I looked too thin, so I thought I could stop logging to put back on a few pounds. Problem is, I've gained back 20 lbs, and now I have work to do again. I got rid of all my clothes that…

Hello Everyone! (Longtime listener, firstime caller.) I am a 32 year old male, short at 5'7". In December 2014 I weighed 207#, obese. By December 2015 I was at 186 Pounds and I decided I wanted to "look good naked." I was hoping to get to 160# by June which is my birthday month and the start of beach weather. Make a long…

Can not reach maintenance goals!
Sounds like a silly thing to whinge about and clearly has an obvious solution but if you look at today or tomorrow (prelogged) in my diary you'll see I'm eating 3 full meals a day but just not getting even close to my maintenance. Obviously the answer is eat more but with 3 full meals and a few snacks and doing little…

Compliment or Criticism...?
Does anyone else get the comment, "You're not still trying to lose weight... are you?!" This super confusing comment usually comes up after they've just said something along the lines of "You look great!," and then they follow it up with such an awkward statement like that. I just don't understand... Is this supposed to be…

Looking for long term maintainers
I've been on mfp for almost 400 days and looking for friends who will stick around for more than a year. So if you have been around on mfp for 300 days, add or write on this post so I can add you. See you soon

What 'food rules' or 'life rules' do you live by to maintain your weight?
It seems to me that everyone has sort of a food philosophy when it comes to the way they approach their lives and I was curious what personal standbys some of you may have to continue having success in weight maintenance. Some examples I've heard in the past are: 1) I count my calories every day, my limit is XXXX per…

Lazy skinny-fat teen in need of advice
Okay, so during the past couple of years, I have struggled with minor eating disorders and have had trouble maintaining my weight. It seems to me that my weight has either been going up or down but never staying where it's supposed to be! I've been dieting for so long that I don't even know how to eat properly any more!…

New ground for me and struggling
So last time I hit goal I got pregnant (be careful ladies lol) after a starting weight of over 17 stone I actually looked terrible under 10 and a half stone at 5 ft 8. Drawn in cheek bones and people asking me if i was sick. So now dd3 is 6 months old, and I've dipped under 10 and a half again and am looking a bit gaunt. I…

Disney Vacation!
Any fellow Disney World obsessors out there? :) My husband and I are leaving for a week trip to the happiest place on earth this Saturday! Yay! I'm planning on enjoying myself and soaking up the entire magical experience... but if I can avoid coming home with a few extra pounds as souvenirs, that would be wonderful. Any…

Anyone here on maintenance with food restrictions?
I maintain eating mostly paleo/SCD. This really helps my ibs and celiac. Anyone else have severe food restrictions?

Would I still maintain
What if I continually exercised and ate at maintenance for a week but on one day of the week I ate over maintenance . Would I slowly gain weight even if I continually exercised during the week ?

Maintain
Try food with more bulk and more protein. They don't spike insulin and burn slower for a longer full feeling.

Recalibrating the body's set point and losing in steps
Does anyone have experience of alternating periods of losing and maintenance to minimize impact on metabolism and recalibrate the body's set point? I was reading the blog this week http://blog.myfitnesspal.com/ask-dietitian-weight-loss-hard/ and the article resonated with me. I have been doing really well with my weight…

Biggest Loser Winner
I started using this app and exercising because a doctor told me I have a "fatty liver" and that I needed to lose weight to avoid diabetes. Apparently fatty liver is a sign that someone is headed down that road. He also said I should cut sodas and other sugary drinks, along with sugary foods, out of my diet. So, I…

Trying to lose last 2 pounds & maintain goal weight
Hi everyone, After more than a year of attempting to reach a goal weight of 125lbs, I realized how determined I was to hit a certain number more than a happy medium for myself. I have noticed that when around 130lbs, I feel fine and feel like my body is finally beautiful. However, currently I am weighing in at 131.8lbs and…

Maintenance Plan?
I'm taking the the month of June off of weight loss and don't want to log. I'm thinking of weighing in every morning to keep myself honest and spot upwards trendds before it gets out of hand. Anyone do this long term? It seems like a decent compromise

Time to start maintenance
Just a quick query for you knowledgeable maintainers. I'm just curious as to when you started to up your calories to maintenance? I'm looking to have a 5lb maintenance range rather than a single weight goal & I'm now hitting the top end of that range (still 3.5lbs off the bottom value though). Would you advise starting to…

Avoid for Maintenance
There have been some great threads on what habits people do to maintain their weight. But what things do you avoid at all costs? What behaviors or thoughts will definitely sabotage your attempt to maintain your weight?

Eat back calories or not
Trying to maintain weight. I bike (8-10mi) or run (4mi 2x/wk, one long 6-13 mi 1x/wk) everyday, mixing weights and yoga in on occasion. I'm not very active at work but very active at home. Struggling to find the balance between burn and eating back what I've burnt. I usually eat 1300-1400 calories a day, rarely adding back…

Hello maintenance: where everyday will feel like Thanksgiving!
So now that my newly-purchased small-sized clothing is getting too loose (not good), I decided to switch to maintenance. Yay. I've been living the *1200 calorie dream* for a year now and suddenly MFP is giving me 1680. I mean...that's a FEAST! haha! Throw in some exercise calories and I'm not sure I CAN eat that much…

Beginning Recomposition with Body weight training?
Hi all, very new to maintenance and working on shifting my goals to fitness based vs loss based. I am 5'4", 124-128lbs, 28 yo. I have some muscle definition in legs and arms but in particular my upper body strength is lacking. I would like to start recomposition but I prefer to work from home. Is it acceptable to work on…

Eating at maintenance level, but gaining weight?
I am a 20 year old male, 5'11 and weigh in at about 182lbs. 8 weeks ago, I got off my diet (which I lost 75lbs from), and decided to focus on building a bit more muscle/strength. I wanted to start at maintenance to test out the waters a bit, then possibly start bulking. My maintenance caloric range should be between…

Maintenance calories
How do I figure out how many calories I should take in now that I've hit my goal weight? Myfitnesspal says 1700, where I've been eating 1200 calories up to now? I've heard of tdee and bmr, so many different calculations! What is the most reliable way to estimate how many calories I should now take in? I appreciate it,…

binges
What are some tips for recovering from a binge without starving yourself the next day? High fiber high protein? I had a binge the last couple of nights totaling about 4,000 calories over maintenance. Yes, I realize that that "only equates to about 1 lb of weight gain", but if this were to happen consistently, that would be…

Can't stop, won't stop eating :(
I've decided to post my story today for a few reasons. Firstly, I'm hoping it will help with accountability and secondly, I need help. I lost 22kgs from about September 2014 to March 2015. I then went into maintenance and was doing absolutely fine up until mid-Feb this year. I upped my calories from around 1200 to 1540 and…

Fitbit Questions!
Hi everyone! I recently got the Fitbit Flex and love it! However I have a couple questions... 1. On the app, where does it say my TDEE? (The calories I maintain on) 2. What's the difference between the Alta, Charge, and Flex? Which one would you recommend? 3. When I do non-walking exercise such as the elliptical, how do I…
