Motivation and encouragement
Today is day 1 for me sticking to a plan. My mini goal is to stay within my calorie count for 1 week. I work at a location that has a lot of temptation and it is not easy for me to stay consistent. I want to focus on me and only me and see what I can accomplish when I put myself first. Hit me with some low calorie recipes…

Emotional eating - alternative ways to lift mood?
After a recent breakup I now find myself snacking in the evenings when a month ago I would have been chatting with my then-partner. I snack partly to fill the time but mostly because it lifts my mood, and these evening snacks (mostly chocolate or biscuits) are derailing otherwise positive progress with healthy food and…

Not looking to lose weight but want to tone my arms. Advice?
I’m 5’10 and 136 pounds. I’ve always had what I consider to be big arms (in proportion to the rest of my body). Are there any ways I can tone that area without actually losing weight overall?

HATE the new Dashboard!
All I want is the diary and progress. I open MyFitness Pal on my Ipad or phone and it won't immediately scroll down to the progress page. I have to try several times. Then I get there and I have to click on it several times to get to the graph. The weight difference does not show up at the top immediately. I don't care…

Waist Trainer!!!
I just ordered a waist trainer off of amazon and I'm like super excited. Some people say it's dangerous for you body and stuff but I also read that if you excercise with your waist trainer on your stomach and side fat would decrease. I just had baby 3 months ago and my flabby belly is annoying me, I'm ready for it to look…

If you lose fat you lose muscle, so...
1)Should I gain muscle or lose fat first? So I've heard that when people lose weight (fat), they will necessarily lose muscle. I've heard that if you gain muscle, you'll gain fat (presumably not enough to undo your prior work). Finally, the weight control registry highlighted that weight lifting is one of the best…

Pals for motivation
I lost 130 and recently I gained back 35 lbs out of the total as my binge eating has returned due to stress. I am looking to get back on track and looking for pals to help each other stay motivated.

Shin Splint
Just popped in to ask a quick question. I've been trying to increase my walking, hiking, etc. Well, evidently it's not a good thing to walk down hills on pavement, followed by walking on gravel paths. Plus then not listen to your body. :( I have an appointment to see someone tomorrow, just to make sure I have shin splints…

Biometric screening
Had my biometric screening for work insurance yesterday and the tech measured me at 5’4.5”. My entire life I have mean 2 inches taller or so I thought. I am 58 and know you shrink as you age but now my BMI is higher. I am sooo mad that I went from normal to overweight again (I am 151 lbs). I have been maintaining within 2…

Frustrated with belly
I’ve been sticking religiously to my calories, going to the gym and doing strength training, walking minimum of 10k steps a day and drinking 2.5 - 4 litres of water a day. I’ve not lost weight but I’ve not gained it either but feel like I’ve gained belly fat. Any thoughts?

Rewarding yourself for meeting goals?
So I've recently started on my healthy living journey, and for me the main thing is sugar. I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to it, and I've set a goal for myself to not eat anything with obvious added sugars. I've said that I'd get myself a fitbit (or similar tracker) if I can make it a month. I've been thinking of more…

Workout App recommendation please
Hello, I have just started using weight lifting machines at the gym in the last few weeks. I am realizing that I'm using so many different machines at different weights and reps that I can't remember what I did last time. I'm sure "there's an app for that"! What app do you like to track your workout a the gym?

Heart Health ❤

Game changer! Squeeze bottle
It’s frustrating to put just a smidge of dressing on a sandwich or salad. So I bought food grade, commercial squeeze bottles off Amazon. I put my light ranch in a bottle, and now it’s so easy to put just 0.1 oz of dressing on a wrap. Just enough for flavor, super low calories.

New dashboard is too confusing
I really don’t like this new dashboard AT ALL. It’s not any easier and you have to go hunting for things that were much easier to access in the old way. And every other moment they keep pushing for you to upgrade and pay. Absolutely not. I’ve been on MFP for MANY years and have always liked it. This doesn’t make me want to…

Fat caliper vs measuring tape question
I took a fat caliper measurement and measuring tape this morning after using bathroom and nothing to eat. Fat caliper measurements went down from last time but measuring tape is still saying same measurements. Am I doing something wrong ? Is that even possible? Thanks
