Beginner at fitness - am I doing enough?
I am 27 years old and have never been "fit" in my life. I have been skinny before, but never healthy-skinny. I have hit the gym inconsistently for weeks at a time, and been to a few yoga classes. I have been working from home since March and I had the scary realization that I do not move. I move from one room to another in…

Faith in people and machines
We all know CICO is key to everyone’s weight loss goal. I often hear people say scale that show body fat are inaccurate. And fitness machine like treadmill or activity tracker over estimate calories burned. But it seems like people tend to believe the calories in their food that the restaurant puts up. The portions are cut…

Recommended intake gram vs %
I am wondering if you should follow recommended intake gram instead of % when you are increasing your intake. For example. If the recommended intake for protien is 1g per pound, and you weight 150 lbs. That would be 150g. On a 2000 calorie diet, that is about 30%. But assume you burned an additional 1000 calories that day.…

Cons of walking?
Due to being off work and starting my latest (Hopefully final!) Loss journey I'm walking around 6 miles a day. This is intentional exercise in addition to the normal day to day activity ie school drop off/pick ups. Today I walked 8 miles (19000 steps) I know the pros but there arent any negatives are there?

Weight's stayed the same for 3 weeks - not up nor down. Any advice?
I do intermittent fasting, 20:4, and I've lost every single week since 3rd August when I began until 3 weeks ago. It's consistently 142Ibs i.e. 64.8kg i.e. 10st 2Ibs (I've hopefully covered all the metrics). My target weight is 134Ibs ie. 61Kg i.e. 9½stones so almost there. I really thought I would have hit that but as I…

Hi everyone! I am in my late twenties and I am a male. I have been stuck at the same weight range for weeks now. I do intermittent fasting, specifically OMAD (One Meal A Day). term to talk about weight loss rate over time
(It's probably the question mostly for the physicists here haha, I was't sure which section to put it in.) Is there a term to talk about "speed" (probably not the right word) with which one loses weight over a period of time ? To clarify what my question is about, imagine two people, both have lost, say, 10 pounds over a…

calorie deficit and migraines
I don't know if this is a common problem, but if I am in calorie deficit it triggers a migraine, sometimes bad enough to make me vomit. After the worst is over, usually after 2-3 days, I go into a feeding frenzy - it's like my body knew it needed sugar, and now it seeks it out. Oddly, once the migraine is established,…

I have jumped in the deep end.
I made the plunge! I just cancelled my WW subscription. I had been on it for a couple of years now, paying every month but doing no effort. Why am I suddenly so hungry ?
Hi! I started my caloric deficit 61 days ago. For the first 30 days I was eating around 1800 calories. And I didn’t feel especially hungry. Things were fine except I was losing too fast. So I bumped up my daily calories to 2000. Which is a 400-500 calories deficit. I’m losing steadily and at a very decent rate. Except that…
