Thank You MFP !!!
I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you that post on MFP. I have been a member on here for about 3 weeks and your trials, challenges, and triumphs are very encouraging. I feel like I have broken the addiction. Fast food restaurants no longer have flashing neon lights with arrows to point them out as I drive down the…

It's AMAZING what 6 weeks can bring!!
I found MFP kind of on a fluke - a friend of mine on Facebook mentioned that she was losing weight using this site and loved it. I didn't pay much attention to it at first honestly. I was happy for her... but I had been on so many diets my entire adult life, and figured I was just kind of meant to be fat. I'm married, have…

People are noticing!
I've been an MFP member since late May, and even though I was losing about a pound a week no one had ever commented on my weight loss and now all of the sudden a lot of people on the trail (where I run) are starting to notice. They are telling me that it's as if I lost the weight "overnight". Some are actually stopping me…

I finished Power 90!!
Well today was a milestone for me. I finish Power 90, all 90 days and never missed a single workout! I even went on two mini vacations and was still able fit in the workouts. My wife has been so supportive. I lost 21 pounds while doing the program and several inches from my waist, arms, and legs. I also had to buy new…

Walked 5 miles - woo hoo!!!!!
So yesterday I had a fight with my daughter and was completely upset -and instead of thinking about food I thought I am going to walk and focused on getting up this morning and walking 5 miles. I have been walking 3 - 3.5 miles most mornings but never more. We have a trail that is 5 miles long around an airport - so once…

small success (:
I completed my first 5K with my friend at a local 5K on campus. She used to run in high school (i'm a horrible runner) and we actually finished together. We finished at 39 minutes and 36 seconds. I know that's kinda high, but I was proud. I kept thinking that normal running is doing a mile in 10 minutes... so we were only…

Holy Cow My Skirt Fell Off!
I have a black skirt...the kind that zips up the back and has no elastic or anything. I bought it back in June and needed to wear control top pantyhose for it to fit properly. Now, granted, I was wearing those tonight too...but I put it on and it nearly slid off my hips...ZIPPED UP! :noway: I stopped right at the hip…

6 weeks on MFP - what I have learned about myself
Hi all, I am a member of MFP for 6 weeks. I have lost 18lbs in those 6 weeks. Well the last few weeks on MFP have taught me alot. I have always enjoyed exercise and thought I ate healthily. I was Never a lover of high fat foods, but I am pretty hyper active and get hungry every 4 hours. I have realised that "a little…

For the first time in 12 years
I weigh in the 140's...I haven't seen this weight in so long...I jumped around my bathroom this morning clapping and cheering. Reflecting on what got me here, it was a lot easier then I thought. I am still eating and enjoying foods I love (just not in the portions of a line backer) and working out. I am running my first 5k…

Low-Sodium Success
So, I realized back when I started on MFP (a year ago!) that I was regularly eating WAAAY too much sodium, even when I was sticking to my calories. Since then I've been working to eat as clean as possible - cutting out processed foods and processed sugars, eating mostly fresh fruit/veggies, beans, lean protein, eggs and…

13lbs Small Victory!
It isn't a lot really but it is a victory for me! I gave birth in October 09, I had been trying to lose weight before I got pregnant and had lost 50lbs. When I did give birth I had gained it all back! I was mad but it was my fault for not keeping my diet in check while pregnant and vowed to lose it and more. I got down to…

My new jeans are loose!
I got some new jeans a few months ago. I had put it off for a while because I didn't want to buy more any time soon. Then when I bought some new ones I decided I didn't want them to be too tight either. So maybe I could have gone smaller than I did. The result is I need to buy some new jeans again! I get tired of feeling…

My 30-day-versary-some sappy thoughts
I've been on MFP for one month and have lost 5 lbs- the healthy way! Often we are told that the best kind of success and the truly incredible stories are the "me against the world" or "one man army" version. While these lone ventures can be great accomplishments, I think they also have become perhaps an unrealistic-and…

Goals (:
About 6 months ago I made goals that I didn't really believe yet that I could make, but this morning when I was working out with my biggest loser team, I was looking over those goals, and I've realized that I accomplished them and beyond! 1. lose a minimum of 30 pounds (I've lost about 40!) 2. run a mile under 9 minutes…

my mii jumped for joy!
After over a year of a healthy lifestyle, I've lost 75 lbs. It was so exciting this weekend to see my Mii jump in happiness for the first time at a "Healthy BMI". Much better than... dun dun dun. "That's overweight" or "That's obese". I was hoping my mii would get skinnier, but that didn't happen! lol...

80 lbs lost
Today I officially passed the 80lb lost mark! I think (hope) I've finally broken through a plateau after spending the past month stuck at 192-195 lbs. This may have been due to my adding stregth training into my gym routine instead of all cardio, all of the time. I still seemed to be losing inches, just not weight, for…

OMG...I can't believe he was interested in me
Right, So I am safe here to assume that many people of MFP lack confidence as being fat has that effect on your confidence and although I have lost over 60 lbs I still feel the same size. Here's my little morale boost. On Friday night we went to go for a few drinks in London with some of my best friends and we went to this…
