Needed some advice please!
Hey y'all, I could use some of your expertise! So when it comes to genetics, you could say I got the short end of the stick. From my mom's side, I have a fairly high risk of type 2 diabetes and my dad's family has a risk of high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Do y'all by any chance, know any foods that prevent these…

Okay so I started on B100 and my energy levels were great! I'm a Type 2 Diabetic and on metformin...wondering if anyone else has taken B50 and had the upset stomach. Pharmacist recommends taking it seperate from the metformin. It makes me feel better so I would like to continue but not if my stomach is always upset. Any…

High calorie but low fat? Or healthy?
EDIT: Ignore title please. Basically I'm looking for high calorie foods (300-500) that consist of one or two items/ingredients that aren't super horrible for you. EDIT: You know what, just ignore this whole thing. When it goes down a few pages I'll try again and try wording my question better.

Why is it bad to eat 1200cal?
I am 5'4 and 160lb, hoping to lose 30. I was planning on eating 1200cal and exercising 300-400. Well after reading some threads on MFP, i learned tha some people say this slows our metabolism. So my question is, how many cals should i eat? and why do you need to eat back your exercise cals? doesn't that defeat the purpose…

Calories in Rennie?
I feel like a complete tool asking this, next I'll be counting the carories in my toothpaste!! But in all seriousness, I have chronic hearburn and have lost the last pack of my prescription Nexium and have had to resort to Rennie until I can see the doc next week. I'd not worries if it were one of two, but I'm practically…

Cooking with wine
Curious. Does anybody else cook with wine? If so, how do you post it here? Tonight I sauteed chicken and veggies and finished it making a pan sauce with some white wine. BTW, it was wonderful. I had a glass anyway, so I just added to that. But do you add it? If so how. When I make a pan sauce, it is reduced by at least…

Looking for New Snack Food
I am trying to find a new snack food to add to my roster. Right now my main snacks are yogurt with frozen raspberries and a small apple dipped in a touch of cinnamon sugar. I like my snacks between 75-200 calories. Whats your favorite snacks under 200 calories?

What are 'healthy' foods.
Healthy foods are not determined by their, calorie, fat, carb, protein count. They are determined by the nutritional value of the food. After reading the previous post about coconut oil... I am quite frustrated that people still dont get the point? Saturated fat isn't bad, fat isn't bad, carbs arent bad. No food is bad or…

High fat diet helps you lose weight?
I was watching this fascinating programme about diet and food and it included an interview with Prof Tim Noakes. This is a highly thought of nutrition scientist who completely changed his position on diet, from advocating a high-carb low fat diet to a high fat low carb diet. (This is the man who invented carb loading for…

I am fairly new at this veggie eating thing, basically i hate them all. I know fruits and veggies are important and i am now snacking on carrots and snap peas, etc and starting to add in broccoli. Shakeology Cleanse- Good or bad idea?
Hi, I am from England, so the only way I can get Shakeology is through EBay so please.. I don't need coaches on here trying to sell it to me from America. There are a lot of reviews out there and they are mainly by beachbody coaches or reviewers somehow affiliated to them in some way, so rather biased in my opinion. And I…

Milk Problems
I'm struggling with the whole issue of drinking milk. Back in 2010, I completely eliminated dairy milk from my diet (though, not dairy milk products like cheese and yogurt). Since then, I have not been able to tolerate cow's milk on the rare occasions I've had it. I drank soy milk for a while, but to be perfectly honest,…

I bought a side of beef
I'm pretty excited! One of my clients sold us a side of beef and we split it with two other people. This means I don't have to purchase meat for a few months! I also know where it came from, with no hormones in it, etc. Also great! The only thing is, I'm not so sure how to log certain items. We received a variety - steaks,…

Supplements/protein powders etc
I am trying to lose weight, hopefully build some muscle tone but weight is more important to me. Do these powders really accelerate results at such a speed that it's worth it? Question about fruit?
I am on an 800 calorie diet and of coarse I get hungry between meals. But counting my calories and eating an apple or an orange boosts my calories up every-time I eat one. My doctor says that fruit are basically GOOD calories and I shouldn't count them in my calorie count. Does anyone have any input on this? I love fruit…

Portable snack that is higher in protein, lower in carbs
I hope this one hasn't been asked too many times. I've been searching and I find tons of protein bars, etc. All with a lot of carbs and fat and salt along with them. I have protein powder that is reasonable that I'm going to use in the mornings, when I have the blender and stuff to mix it in right there, but I need…
