Water - How much do you drink?
So obviously the recommendation is 8 glasses per day, but I was just wondering what everyone usually does for water? I tend to be thirsty a lot and i can have anywhere in between 8-12 a day.

Over on carbs
I am ALWAYS over on carbs. I have it set at 45%, so that is about 135 carbs per day. By the time I eat my fruits, drink milk/eat non fat yogurts, I am already up to 100. That isn't even counting whole grain breads and the 'starchy/bread' carbs. By the time the day is over, I may be over 160. Is it bad to be over on these?…

Hypoglycemia
Hi all. Not sure if this is the best place for this but it seemed like it to me. I haven't yet been diagnosed but I took a quiz yesterday to assess my probability that I have hypoglycemia. 20 meant that you were at risk, my score was 99! I've been experiencing dizziness midday but yesterday really put it out there for me.…

Portable and eat-on-the-go breakfasts
Here's the deal: I get up at 5.30am and start work at 6am, so I bring my breakfast to work with me to eat around 8-9am. I've been bringing instant oats and wheat biscuits lately and keep some lactose-free milk in the fridge. I only have a microwave here and 1 bowl (which I can cook the oats in), so cooking anything else is…

Breakfast calories question
How many calories do you normally eat for breakfast? Is it better to eat allotted calories evenly throughout the day? I find that I usually have the lowest calories intake in the morning. And I think I am finding that I'm not eating enough for breakfast. I usually go to the gym afterwards, and by the time I'm done…

Making my meals public...
Okay, so when MFP gave me the option to hide my food diary I jumped right on it... I am thinking now that I may want to make it public. Maybe the embarrassment of putting really bad things on there will motivate me to eat better! It will also give you a chance to see any trends or faults that I am not noticing... and feel…

Low fat dressing, I banish you!
I banish you to the depths of diet hell. I will eat you no more. You taste like crap and are full of salt. From this day forth, I decree that only full fat olive oil and vinegar shall grace my salad, and you shall nevermore see the light of day! Let the Real Food Revolution... BEGIN!!!!

Protein Powder
Okay, I like smoothies in the morning. The problem is, for me, they don't last very long. I was told to add protein powder to my smoothies. I tried that this morning. I bought some Soy Isolate Protein Powder in the bulk section of Winco today. For about 60 calories, I got 15 grams of protein in my (roughly) 10 oz smoothie.…

Best bet in an Indian restaurant?
I'm going to an Indian restaurant for dinner and think I've got a good idea what to avoid on the menu (kormas?) but since I'm not in control of what goes into my dish, what is the best meal to order so I stick as best I can to the lower end of the calorie range? Any other tips?

Sodium and Sugar too high
Hi All, Is anyone else having difficulty meeting their sodium and sugar targets? I know I need to cut the small amount of processed foods I'm eating - largely out of convenience - and I'm sure that will help with sodium. I was surprised to see how little sugar (44g) I should include in my meals. I eat a Kind bar an apple…

Eating Clean!!! Support group!
Hi there, I recently bought tosca reno's eat-clean diet book, and i think it is very inspirational. Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution
I was wondering if anyone else watched the sneak preview of this "reality" show last night, and what their thoughts on it were. Did you enjoy it? Did you learn anything from it? Were you offended or not? I realize that it was filmed and cut for drama, but I did find it interesting. I wonder if he'll be able to accomplish…
