the hungries
10-days into reducing my calories, I have found my stomach growling often from morning through even the night sometimes when I wake (often, with small children) over the last couple of days. My reduction is not that great--my base is 1590 calories plus about 300 exercise cals. I eat rather clean--tons of nuts, fruit,…

McD's inspired me!
So today I was running around and didn't have a lot of time. I grabbed a southwest salad with grilled chicken from McDonalds. It was ok, but oh so salty. I liked that it had 2 wedges of lime on it. Lemme tell ya~ that lime was awesome. That salad inspired me to want to make my own at home with salad veggies, rinsed black…

OK so when I go to the gym I end up with all these extra calories and I DO NOT see how I'm supposed to shove another 800+ calories in my mouth... I don't get it. if I was eating food like I used to there would be no problem, I would just hit up BK and get some fries and a chicken sandwich.. but I don't want to eat that…

A new entry in the food Data Base
I've added a "Holiday Allowance" into the food DB that will add a 300 calorie bumper to your meal plan for the day. This is how I deal with holidays, birthdays, etc. It's enough extra to feel like a little treat, but not enough extra to keep you from losing for the week. :) I thought it might be helpful to someone other…

tofu-a great low kcal source of protein
A great substitute for eggs in recipes is tofu blended with a bit of soymilk. It is low calories and high protein and great for vegan baking and cooking. Toful is also a great low calorie substitute for cheese in baked pasta dishes such as mac and cheese and baked ziti. Blend or "mash" silken tofu with Tofutti cream cheese…
