How to calculate calories
I am going to my sons for supper. They are having a pot roast with carrots and potatoes in the slow cooker. There is one in the data base but the sodium is way high. They use salt very sparingly so I am unsure, do I just use that and know my sodium isn't really that high or try to just use the ingredients to add the meal,…

Holy DooDoo beans!
So I put in NY strip steak..whenever i went to a resturaunt I would get the bigguns....which was 16 oz ...2.5 oz was 150 cals...so that was pretty much 1000 cals in just steak...not to mention the bowl (not cup) bowl of clam chowder...I'd hate to see how much that creamy butter goodness equals to (prob another 1000 w/ the…

Taste Buds Changing??
Hey everyone. So, I've been trying to eat healthier since January. (Yes, I'm one of the New Year's Resollution people!) And I started out slowly. Haven't been eating hardly any fried food. Didn't eat that much to begin with but I did love my french fries and cream sauces. I noticed now that when I have a taste of something…

How do you get your calcium-
Without going over your protein? I used to use mypyramid.gov and it calculated milk products separately from meat/protein products. I cant seem to get enough calcium in w/o going over my protein. I may just bump my protein section for sodium anyhow since we can only have 5 selections.

Let's not wait on nutrition
Why wait for the government to tell restaurant's that they have to make nutrition information available? Many of these restaurants have websites as well as social networking pages where we can ask - in public - "What's so difficult about providing nutrition information? Don't you know what's in your recipes?" Or maybe less…

Best website for recipes, menu plans, and more
Hi everyone! I just realized that I have been unintentionally keeping a great secret from the rest of myfitnesspal. Well, I am sure some of you know of it, but eatingwell.com is probably the best source for healthy recipes, nutrition tips, and more. Eating Well provides a diverse plethora of recipes that I think are based…

PIZZA vs. WEIGHTLOSS
So yesterday was a hard day. In the evening all I wanted to do was order a pizza, although it had been the first day I craved junk in 3 months but I opted for carrot sticks. My mentality was that I could eat half a pizza BUT I would feel like a failure and what is better....a few minutes of tasty junk (that would probably…

Fast Food
I hate you, I don't know why I continue to indulge your nasty little intrigues.... Filled with calories, fat, and heaven only knows what. We have our "secret" little rendezvous, when time has lapsed too far between feedings. Then the guilt creeps in halfway through the meal, but figure I've already blown it may as well…

Chinese take away
Hi all! Wondering if you could help me decide what to order from the Chinese tonight...either King Prawn with Ginger and Spring Onions, King Prawn with Garlic Sauce, or King Prawn with Mushrooms. Which, if any, would be the best option as regards calories? Maybe there isn't much difference between them!
