STARVED between lunch and dinner!
Ok, so I've noticed a terrible pattern.....I tend to snack A LOT inbetween lunch and dinner. I have been told to have a low cal snack between the meals, however, I am terribly hungry still and a 100 calorie snack (or less) just doesn't cut it and my stomach is still growling until I eat dinner. I do eat breakfast so I'm…

Unintentional sabotage?!?!?
Okay, so I have been back on MFP for about a month and have made no secret to anyone who wants to know how I am doing it (counting my calories, working out, drinking my water, etc). Yesterday was my birthday, and a well-meaning lady brought me what she thought would be a good birthday cake for me: a carrot cake from…

Question about potaotes?
The food list says 1 large, 3-4 1/2 inches. Is that legnth or width? We get those massive costco potatoes from costco and I cut them in half. A 4 inch long potato isnt exactly what I would call "large".

Couscous
I love to eat couscous instead of rice once in awhile. When I went to put to amount in my food data base I was shocked to see how many calories were in it. I know I am allowed to have 1 cup of couscous (I cook it in chicken broth and nothing else). 1/4 cup is 150 calories. It bothered me so much I went online to find out…

Potassium and exercise can too little cause problems???
I was playing with the settings on my daily food log and added potassium information. I noticed over the past 5 days I probably only took in about 10% of the potassium I should have. Can too little potassium cause problems especially if you are working out??? Besides bananas and beans what are other good sources of…

Calling all Vegans!
I have a few questions :) 1) Im curious about cost, this is something I am really seriously considering, but I am worried about my budget. 2) My husband still wants to eat meat, he is also concerned about dairy...is it possible or (realistic) to do this when your family isn't? 3) Do you find yourself extremely limited when…

Feeling full, but eating too few calories?
Most days I am right on with my calorie goal. I just had surgery on my foot so I'm sitting down a lot and changed my settings to "sedentary lifestyle" but my calorie goal (previously 1550) only went down to 1400. In the week since my surgery, I have been eating lots of raw fruits and vegetables like broccoli, oranges, and…

Hi everyone! I have been using MFP for about 3-4 weeks....I do cardio 6 times a week (one day off) and aim for 45 minutes. According to my MFP goals, my calorie goal is around 1500 daily - without eating my exercise calories. I noticed on a lot of posts, there are several people aiming for 900-1200 calories! Should I…

Dividing up calories
I get 1200 a day plus exercise calories. Is it reasonable to do 300 calories for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and 150 calorie snacks in between? I plan to divide up my exercise calories and add them back to my lunch and dinner. I guess I am not clear on if the meals should all be similar in calories or if I should have…

Low calorie fruits???
So I am actually astounded at the calories of fruits and veggies such as bananas, apples, potatoes, etc. I had a grilled potato with dinner last night figuring it'd be healthier than our typical packaged mashed potatoes- which it is.. but a tiny little potato packed 110 calories according to MFP. My banana this AM has 105,…

Having a cold (man flu) sucks
Over the last few weeks I’ve done so well. Last week I exercised off 4,000 calories and even though my weight hasn’t budged for 3 weeks I have seen other benefits (shrinking waistline and my BPM going down when I work out as my body gets stronger). Guess my main problems are I never have an appetite with a cold and I think…
