syrup
I always have used sugar free Aunt Jemima syrup. I made pancakes this morning and browsed at the regular aunt Jemima that my husband uses. IT IS RIDICULOUS! 1/4 cup of sugar free syrup has 20 calories...1/4 regular syrup has 200!! I didn't even look at the sugars..but the calories say enough. I cant even taste a difference…

Meeting Caloric intake..
Hi! I've been meeting my calorie intake and some days under... lately I've been hungry even though I have been eating the same amounts as the previous week. My exercise is also the same. I'm not skimping nor do I only eat salad. I guess what I am asking is should I up my calories for the day?

Grapeseed oil - why you need it.
Let me start out by saying that I love olive oil, I really do (I'm Italian, its required). However a lot of recipes seem to call for it improperly. See, olive oil is *not* meant to be used at high temperatures. If a recipe ever calls for the oil to be heated above a low-medium heat in a pan, do NOT use olive oil. See,…

Denaturing Protein
Hey everyone! This is a bit more of a biochemistry question than a health question, persay, but I think the answer could affect a lot of us MFP'ers, and I know there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here, so I'm hoping someone can help out. I've read a LOT of different recipes for homemade protein bars, which usually…

Cho Yung?
Has anyone heard of this weight loss tea: Cho Yung? I stumbled on a website about this tea and it sounds legit... I know there is no magic pill for weight loss but combined with healthy eating and exercise I'm wondering if there aren't pills/drinks out there that can help??

Going over your daily calories
It would be great that when you go over your calories MFP automatically takes it away from the calories you eared by exercising and shows it in the the same section .... I don't know ... maybe a stupid idea..but I think it would help me a bit :-).

Choose your calories wisely
It seems to me like some of the new members, and even people who have been on here for awhile are under the impression that as long as you are within your calorie limit for the day, you are eating healthy. THROW THIS LOGIC OUT THE WINDOW,BECAUSE IT ISN'T TRUE! Please know that I am in no way trying to degrade anyone, I'm…

Who's with me?!
I decided I am going to really try hard to get my water intake up today! I have not been very good the last couple of weeks at drinking water. I have a 27oz water bottle here at work and I am going to try to drink one before noon, one before 4 and one before 8 tonight. That would bring my total to 81oz for the day!!

Egg whites
Okay, so I usually have an egg and an egg white for breakfast a few times a week...and I feel bad throwing the rest of the egg away! The cartons of egg whites, are any of them good? I tried one years ago, I don't remember which brand, but I was NOT a fan. But then again, I did not really eat healthy then, and would…

Has anyone cut out caffeine and noticed a difference?
I am considering taking a break from my usual 1-2 cup per morning coffee drink. I recently bumped into a friend who had lost 10+ pounds and claims it to be the result of cutting out coffee/caffeine. I have noticed that despite the fact that I've lost 7 pounds on this program, I still have some water retention and I know it…

I can't chew for over two weeks! Help!
So I had a cavity :blushing: filled about two weeks ago ... I had to go back today because the filling did something ... well they replaced it with a temporary sedative filling which isn't properly packed down onto my tooth. That means that the filling throws off my bite by a little bit ... so if I chew, I could crack my…

Baking Potatoes
How many calories are in a baking potato? I looked in the database and it seems like a lot. I don't know what the right entry is. I saw commercials for Idaho potatoes being 110 calories, these aren't Idaho, but isn't it pretty much the same. What size is 110 calories for too? Thanks for any input.

Very confused about 'biscuits'
OK I went out to Marks and Spencer today to have a cappuccino with friends, and they come with a teeny biscuit. I wanted to add the teeny biscuit and so went searching for it and found to my horror loads of entries talking about biscuits with gravy and sausage and other things, I can only assume that a biscuit is not the…

A bigger picture!
Ok so I haven't devoted much time to exploring this site - I use it every day, but until recently was just tracking calories, fat, carbs, and protein - and I must say I have been doing pretty good! I never really even add my exercise or water intake. Today I figured out how to add the totals for sugar and fiber as well and…
