Moment of Reflection of Change
Not so sound vain but yesterday was a gentle reminder of how far I have come. I was at a retail store that I have not been to in several months. This lady was there who always teased me when I came in. She did not recognize me instead I showed her my identification. She was blown back by how different I looked. Also, in…

Further proof to motivate me!
Today my doorbell rang and although I was just about to get into the bath and in my robe, my 17 year old son who was dressed did not answer the door, (mainly because he is 17 I think) it was his football coach, (I think another reason for not answering the door!) he wanted to find out if Josh is going to sign for his team…

Women's clothing sizes
OK, I'm not sure that this is the proper forum for this question but it is one that has puzzled me for a long time. And this may well be a silly question. After seeing some of the before and after photos in another topic here, one person states the weight they were and they wore a size 22 jeans. Lost 60 lbs ( or something…

Kids say the darndest things
All throughout my weight loss journey, my children have been my biggest supporters by far. It is amazing to me the insight and support my kids can offer. They always remember to ask me about my progress and weigh in, congratulate me on going to the gym, applaud my successes, and offer words of encouragement if I have a…

Under 300 first time in over a year
I must be a sensitive guy or something because everytime the wife got pregnant I matched her weight gain.We had our 3 child in February. In March I weighed in at 330lbs. Some working out but not watching what I was eating got me to 315 in late June. 15 lbs in 3 months. I joined MFP because my wife was having a lot of…

Something so Silly
This weekend I had so much fun and did something that I didn't think that I would ever do again in my whole life. I went to a water park and had a blast with my kids and husband. I wore a bathing suit in public, walked around in it and everything all day long and it didn't bother me at all!! 95 lbs ago I would have never…

Pushing, Digging or Clawing if I have to....
One foot then another. That is how you do it. Today was the first day of what I had/have in my mind as the most challenging of the training. W3D1 of the C25K. It is hard but it is doable. Today got up 4:52 searched for the right bra....you must have the right bra or you will want to die. I only know because of experience,…

One Year Ago Today
One year ago today, I was just an unhappy gal. I felt frustrated and without hope. I was 5'4 and 189 pounds. I was wearing size 16 and XL (or more). One year ago today I couldn't imagine being where I am now. I didn't dare even dream it. I HATED looking in the mirror. I felt ugly & unattractive. I remember thinking...if…

Photos...Before and after 63 lbs lost
I am approximately half way to my goal so thought this might be a good time for a before and current photo. I still have a long way to go but am proud of my success to this point. I LOVE MFP! I hope the photo comes through...not sure I'm doing this right. If not it is in my profile pictures:smile:

When I started my weight loss journey at 205lbs I was still a hourglass shape. So my first goal was to have a waist smaller than 30 in. I started at 37.5 in...YUCK. But I just measured myself for funzies (Kylie talk for fun lol.) And I almost cried... 29 in!!!!!!! :') YAY!

Slowest Loser! but so happy about it!
I think I should win an award for being the slowest loser ever! I am the polar opposite of the Biggest Loser! So, I am here to encourage other slow losers! When I started (April, 2005) I was 183 and today I am 126. So, was it hard? Yes! :grumble: Did it take perseverance and fortitude? Yes! :noway:…

Success at the expense of others ....
Well what a day. After working all day with only a 15 min lunch break I arrive home to my waiting family at 6 pm. No "how was your day?" or "Welcome home" . All I got was "What's for tea?" Now before I started MFP the answer would have been KFC or Hungry Jack's or similar takeaway meals (whatever one we hadn't had…

The day of the donut - Not!
So my "supportive" hubby went & got donuts this morning. I told him several times not to get me one but he did anyway. He said "well, you don't have to eat it" - Knowing full well how much I wanted to eat it. I poured myself a bowl of total and cut up a banana and you know what?? I think my cereal was a LOT better then…

3, 2, 1......What?!?!?!
I have been a lot of shapes and sizes in my life. My weight has been climbing for years, in the last 13 years it has started with a two and even a three. Today I got on the scale and I closed my eyes and I waited. When I opened my eyes I screamed and wanted to jump up and down. MY WEIGHT STARTED WITH A 1 FOR THE FIRST TIME…

^_^
So the military just moved my family from one posting to another, across time zones. I've basically been eating restaurant food for the past 3 weeks or so, too busy to do any real cardio. Flying with 2 small kids, moved into new house etc etc. So today was the first time I've stepped on the scale. I was dreading it. I've…

I reached my starting point!
I set out last March 12th to lose 65 pounds with a goal weight of 220. I weigh in on Saturday mornings and last week was 224. Knowing the 'beginning' was near I pushed hard this week and this morning weighed in at 217.2 pounds. I have officially arrived. Last November I weighed 294 pounds. I 'dieted' and worked out in the…

Vacation results...
I got home this week after almost 3 weeks away. My goal was to not gain any weight (at least not any that stuck around), but to enjoy my vacation and make good food decisions. I was up 1.5 pounds when I got back on Wednesday, and am now at a net loss of about half a pound. I call this a success. Now back to actually…

I love this site
I just love how easy this site is, I find for life in general, life is more manageble when you have the right tools. I love the food diary and I love how I can view reports of my excersise or food over a period of time. I also love being able to 'interact' with others who share a similar journey.

Wow! I can't believe it...
When I started my journey I was 237.8lbs and a size 22 in pants and 2x in shirts. This is the heaviest I ever was. Right now I am 196lbs and size 16 (this is a regular 16 not a woman's 16) and a large-medium shirt depending. OMG!!! I cam so excited that I can't purchase items from Avenue anymore or go to the "plus" size…

Had to share my excitement with ya'll
so over the years I've had more than my fair share of "small" clothes that got tossed into a box.......10 years worth actually. It also got so full I had a bag of them as well. In the last 5 months I have pretty much plowed my way through the bag and I fit most everything in there with the exception of a few off season…

A day of shopping!
Yesterday we took my 13 and 16 year old daughters school shopping and had an interesting day. We went to a thrift store and goodwill while we were out to pick up some clothes for Melissa and I. She has lost 35 pounds and I am at 57 pounds and we both were being swallowed up by our old clothes. In the first store I found a…
